My WiiU is updated to the latest firmware and I have experienced over 10 hard-locks while playing Most Wanted U. That is over a two day span, playing maybe a total of 4 hours.
I'm like you. I refuse to buy the smelly beat up last "new" copy from EB because I'm anal about my collection. But who ships disc sans manual and box?

How much would that be? I'm never home when things are delivered so they better put it in the mail box. I'll refuse the package if customs are high.
I had this problem on the Vita version last year. It auto-linked the game to another/older account. It's a problem with the way Origin is integrated across all games and consoles.
Solution? Contact customer service and tell them the game was linked to another account and you want it linked to another one. In my case it required some back and forth since the guy had to try a few things on their end and a few resets. Guy was great and everything worked.

Ugh. So glad i ended up getting the retail version so i can sell this next week. First no local multiplayer and now this...
EDIT: so after a bit of googling it turns out this game does not have an option for manual transmission... In the next NFS, they should take out steering as well, just give you a "drive" button. What a joke. I'm not going to waste any more time on this crap. Tomorrow this is going on ebay. Might get it later for €10 next year or so, or maybe they wisen up and put it into a next installment. What the fuck were they thinking. A driving/race game with only automatic transmissions.
Oh well. I guess i'll just have to get my fix elsewhere. My last Criterion racer was B2, which had manual transmissions and was tons of fun because of it.
Yeah, you can keep the save. It just asked me to login again and I continued playing. Heck, when I started this one still had my points from the Vita version.
Nope. Both were well known as to not be in the game. Manual hasn't been in Criterion games for years.
That's very much like wanting manual gears in Mario Kart or Elevator Trim in Sonic Racing Transformed flying sections, dude. This is not a racing sim in any way.
I play a lot of racing sims (GT, Ferrari Challenge etc) with manual gears on, & it's never once occured to me to use manual shift in Burnout or NFS etc, tbh. Wouldn't suit them at all!

I recently purchased something through EA and the tracking number I got never worked.
I know low priority items shipped through the USPS don't always offer the ability to track a package, even though they have a tracking number. It's primarily for internal use.

Nonsense. Burnout had them (which was even "more arcade" than NFS - didn't even have real cars), so did games like Metropolis etc. These games benefited from it. Also, as long as there is an option for automatic, why would you care? It wouldn't be much of an effort to include manual, so i can't understand this, and to me, it's a dealbreaker. Obviously you have never played Burnout with manual gears, or you would know how much more fun it was. It's not about the realism, it's about control. It gives you much better control over your car and allows for much better drifting, evasive maneuvers, faster acceleration after collisions etc.

Set it downloading about an hour ago (UK) but while I was waiting for midnight to come so I could buy it, I got kinda tempted by the Ubisoft deals, added my digital promo points and downloaded Assassins Creed 3 for the effective price of £19.
Wish I'd started them downloading in the opposite order now because while AC3 is 18% done, its 17GB, NFS:MW is only between 6 and 7GB and would have completed first...

That there is Tyler Ohlew from Nintendo World Report.
The textures are completely different in most cases. The frame rate is alot better and the lighting is better.

You've played it? Because those screencaps aren't that good and with the different times of day in each it's hard to compare.
I played the ps3 trial waiting for the wii u version.
the wii u uses the pc high res textures and better lighting the above images are correct.

I own all 3 console versions, and the only notable differences I've noticed are higher res textures and better motion blur.
The framerate is pretty much the same as it was on PS3. Usually a solid 30, with occasional drops.

How to turn off co-driver:
Hit controls on the gamepad > tap the square on the right side of the touch screen to select your wiimote, ccp, or preferred controller > once it has been selected, you can tap the panel on the left (gamepad) to turn off co-driver. From there you can turn off the gamepad and keep playing with your other controller.

Looks like it's back to $60 for the Wii-U version on Origin's website. I guess it was an error and we got lucky! I'm glad mine is already shipped.

Got a 2 hour session in before it hard-locked on me. The game really is great when it works, love playing on the Gamepad. Reminds me so much of Burnout, which is a good thing! I'm above 400k and I just beat Most Wanted #6.

Just shipped today. Crossing my fingers for Monday. We'll see.
Just tried an hour as a "co-driver". Friend didn't wanted to play as he's not a big fan of racers in general (aside Mario Kart). We had a ton of fun, once he got the controls figured out. Plus me helping around turning off traffic at first, changing cars and giving him directions. Then, it was all about chasing for police cars and slamming them.
This x100, I am in love all over again, enjoying this a lot more than Hot Pursuit. It was a fine game, don't get me wrong, it just wasn't Paradise 2 - Most Wanted most definitely is. You have billboards, fences, and another great city to race in. All the game needed was to be 60fps, perhaps on ps4 or Xbox 3!
