Just got this email from Best Buy, made me laugh...
Think I'll wait to see whether or not I get that before I redeem the code.

Although I kind of expect they'd rather refund everyone regardless as it IS cheaper to just give it for free.

Sounds like the party was over by 10PM EDT, which is around when I ordered.
 
I love the entitlement in these situations. Reminds me of the $4 sleeping dogs last time. I also dont get why bestbuy would give 2 shits. Just send out the codes and stop the sale. It's not like there is a warehouse of games missing and no one can get to them. Its a digital code that can be made all day. Considering that the bulk of the people who got this deal (me included - worked just fine for me) won't even play this game who gives a shit if you give out codes? I'm sure there will be some overpriced DLC for this game that could redeem this error and bring in people who would have never got it.

Err... you know that bestbuy doesn't make the game right? They have to PAY for those codes... or more specifically, Nvidia does because it's part of a bundle deal when you buy their cards.

Then again, best buy probably would have to reimburse them.

It's an error. This is not something anyone planned for. It's all about being in the right place at the right time. Best Buy are basically accidentally hemorrhaging sales.

My first one is still in process, but it looks like Best Buy will take it away. Many thanks to a gaffer for giving me a code, unfortunately it was a duplicate but it is what it is. It was an error and in these cases anything can happen, nobody should be getting upset. Back to the Steam sales my friends.

People would have to be a flat out moron to actually be pissed off about their orders being canceled. It's as obvious as can be that it was only meant to be $0.01 with the purchase of another item. It certainly wasn't ever intentionally for sale for $0.01 Glitches happen, a tech guy screws up, and they have every right in the world to cancel orders. It's perfectly legal for them to cancel orders when it is an obvious mistake. Some orders will obviously slip through the crack before the mistake is caught and corrected. As long as they allow orders to stand where people received the goods already then they are totally in the right.

Lawyers, suing them over this, filing complaints. Good lord, some people.

Wow, Best Buys you guys really let me down, i'm a single father of 5 and I don't always have the fund needed to buy my kids game, so someone on my friends list links me to this deal, and me thinking you guys wouln't mess up like this, I immediately made a purchase, as my kids screamed in my ears with excitement, and here I am only to find out that you guys aren't going to honor your "mistake", well shame on you!

These complaints are delicious.

Loving the melt down of people for a .01 game. Thanks bestbuy I got mine and its downloading now. Steam server seems slow.. Could be lots of people got this. Can't beat the entitlement of people thinking they deserve this. Salty tears.. so good.
