Sorry, but that doesn't invalidate anything. The fact remains that anime has a reputation for having some of the most outlandish things to be obsessed about and have turned out some rather ridiculous things in terms of pornography. Trying to say, "Bronies are the scum of the Earth with R34" and then having an avatar of a little girl from an anime series knowing the connotations of pedophilia and how hypocritical that is, is just a tad ironic to me.

One is talking about a specific thing, the other about an ethereal non specific construct. Again what you are saying "people shouldn't watch TV series or films because porn!" i'm already tired of trying to explain this distinction though.

I don't think it's simply "You like this so I don't like you," necessarily. The concern (which is a pretty universal one) is that someone incorporates something so strongly into their personality that it exceeds being an interest and becomes an obsession. That "interest" that they have prevents them from socializing normally or finding new interests because the hobby itself pushes people (and even other ideas) away.

This becomes especially clear when (like in the case of My Little Pony) a show designed for a younger audience extends into prurient obsessions/fantasies of adults. It's not that having any particular fantasy is bad, but if that fantasy dominates your behavior in a way that restricts your enjoyment of other things (especially if that interest isn't a real, tangible thing), you can easily find yourself in a disassociative tailspin.

I dont know what you are trying to warp my point of disagreement into, but it was simply that you cannot equate anime to mlp as one is a genre and the other a specific thing.

Got a link? I feel most fandoms of more oddball stuff like this or furry stuff in general, while I'm okay with in terms of not being OH GOD SO ANGRY IT EXISTS, seem to have more individuals who play the victim card almost constantly which makes it easier to just avoid all together on principal. Like, I have one friend IRL who's into MLP who never brings it up or makes a big deal about it so whatever, that's cool, but another friend's coworker will never shut the fuck up about being a brony to customers and generally comes across as an obnoxious creeper. It's the same for most fandoms, it's just more humorously apparent with ones that surround shows primarily targeted for kids.

While I love it, Adventure Time isn't entirely immune to this kind of dumb behavior even though it has a much wider and seemingly 'accepted' fanbase among older college types like myself.
