What's stopping him from just saying "Yes" if Activision still own the rights?

There's still hope!

Exactly. That's my thought. They could have simply said Yes. On the other hand, Boyes said earlier to ask Activision on the matter. It seems something is definitely happening.

I'm not convinced Crash Bandicoot holds up in 2013, but I sure would like to see Sony do something with the franchise.

Crash is great for PS1, PSP, GB, DS.

Do people actually think it could successfully evolve into a next gen game? I think it would suck.

Gee, I don't know. A 3D platformer with a fixed overhead camera built around pure platforming action. I'm not sure if such a game could possibly be relevant nowadays.

I mean, sure, there are some key differences between Crash 1-3 and Mario 3D World, but there's a lot of similarities too.

HNNNNNNNNG!

A rumoured Parappa game using the Tearaway engine, Crash back in the arms of Sony. All I need now is a Jumping Flash! revival and my jaw will be dislodged by my spontaneous erection.

Actually there is a "Bring Back Bandicoot" campaign going for over two years now:

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/bring-back-bandicoot.html
https://www.facebook.com/bringbackbandicoot
https://twitter.com/bringbackcrash
http://www.youtube.com/bringbackbandicootCM

Go, sign the petition and tweet #BringBackBandicoot NOW!

Holy shit, I remember this. Here's my contribution from yesteryear: http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/af85/ManhattanTheStarr/BringBackTheBandicoot_zpse92248cb.png (lol, iirc, I made that only about a few months back)

But anyways, my god, if this is actually happening, and the game turns out to be a smash hit... I might have to consider purchasing a PS4 in the future...

The "Crash->Sony" thing during the video and the Activision web stuff going down right as the PS4 comes out seem awfully coincidental, but maybe it really is nothing. :/

Jumping Flash?? Yes, please. Now give me a cheesily acted, single player WarHawk sequel, and I'm golden.

Actually Toro is...

If Sony does get crash likely they would reboot the series and remodel his character design

Toro, Sackboy and Crash..

Sony's equivilant to the Celtics "Big Three" I can see the awesome commercials already...

QUOTE=ixYi;90857762]In short, Boyes asks shinobi to ask directly from Activition:

And when asked Activition:[/QUOTE]

The dotted line probably has not been signed yet and it may be uin legal review. As with any business agreement, Boyes cannot comment at all in regards to something he doesn't own, as it could hinder the final outcome of the agreement, or piss of Activision, so they pull the deal off the table. Me thinks it's already done and an announcement will be made at VGAs....

Is nobody else seeing the posts regarding how Activision bought themselves back from Vivendi, and now now lots of games cannot be found, including the Sierra Spyro games, Starcraft, Warcraft, etc.

Still, would be nice if something really was happening.

if this turn out to be true, it'll only be good if naughty dog is developing it.
and i would jump for joy.

that said, i can't help but feel all those people excited for sony to own the ip are simply ecstatic for 'console war' reasons.

that and no developer/publisher today is making any real, non-'download only' effort with the platforming genre except for nintendo.

if sony really wanted to make some waves in that genre again they wouldn't need crash for that. they already have a stable library of quality platforming ip's.

Heh, dropped off the kids at daycare today and they had a new Crash Bandicoot stuffed toy. It was odd hearing the older teacher lady talk about how great Crash Bandicoot is.

This has been one rollercoaster of a thread. I was so hyped, and then Boyes crushed it last night with his tweet, but now it's back to being possible? I think I need to go ly dow

I don't know what to make of the "no comment." Why would they not say yes? Maybe they DID sell it to Sony, but want to keep it a secret for a while. That would make sense considering the sign in the trailer.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

So Crash may be going back to a PlayStation console AND Media Molecule rumored to be on Parrappa the Rapper.

1995 called, and it wants it's awesome back.

If Activision refused to comment but Boyes said they still own the IP then what's going on? I suppose Activision do still own it on a technicality and are in the process of selling it but the deal hasn't gone through yet.
