PS4 sells 134,000 units in Spain; The One fastest selling console called The One

How can you say that when The One is one of the fastest selling consoles of all time so far this generation? Also if the DRM had stayed The One would probably be selling even faster IMO. People make it seem as if the PS4 is selling way better when that's simply not the case; it isn't leading The One in the biggest selling territories and once the price drop hits next fall the gap will likely widen.

Is this a joke?

The PS4 has the best versions of the multiplatform games in its launch lineup which (combined with the price differential) means it's no surprise that it's selling more around the world. Exclusives aren't nearly as important as some people think.

I wasn't comparing the sales to the xbox one...it still surprising to me it's selling that well, especially in Spain. The comment about the lineup is personal opinion which apparently ruffles some feathers in Sony fans.

I really want to know what justified some of the policies MS tried to introduce with the xbox one.

Past performance? The first Xbox didn't sell well. The 360 wasn't even the best selling console of its generation.
Brand power? The 360 failed to sell that much more than the PS3 despite the latter being released a year later, and with a significant price tag attached.

Sony had their head up their asses with the $599 moment, but the PS2 sold like a fucking monster that previous generation. So to an extend, I guess you could see why they thought they could do what they did.

Why Microsoft decided it was in a position to be able to implement those policies is beyond me. The Xbox brand needed one more generation to grow into itself, and MS decide to sacrifice it for an unrealistic idea of their position in the living room.

Microsoft tried to pull it on us because the Xbox brand grew into a monster in the US because of the 360.

These. And it was because of Sony's constant fuck-ups with the PS3 from E3 2006 to 2008 that caused the 360 to become successful in both the US & the UK, not because that the Xbox brand was "big," because it certainly wasn't.

Robbie Bach even admitted that 360 succeeded over PS3 because of what Sony did with the PS3 (Link).

Definitely joke poster.

Definitely. I don't know why people keep responding to him. I wound up putting him on ignore.

this is either an elaborate joke, or you are off your meds, or, you are getting paid.

i'm leaning towards the latter.

Do people in Spain not like FIFA, COD, BF and AC?

When someone goes to a store for a PS4 and there are none they are likely to get a One IMO. I wonder how many folks have gotten The One because the PS4 wasn't available.

Excuse the GAF > Internet > GAF article (and feeding a blatant astroturfing troll), but you should read this.

It's based on this thread, where Gaffers found out that you can see exact figures of Amazon's stock (once an item goes below 1000 units) by putting 999 units of something in your basket. Naturally this is tracked.

tl;dr edition: you're wrong, based on this one case study it appears that people who want a PS4 is not going out and buying Xbones when the PS4 supply runs out, but instead buying bundles and/or waiting it out until the next batch.

is this real life?

Not only is the PS4 beating the XBO in the territory where MS is FLOODING the market with shipments, it is also DOMINATING it WW.

Fastest selling? LMAO

This has to be a Major Nelson alt

I will just say calling Xbox One 'The One' sounds so awkwardly personal to me when I read this thread. I sure hope this trend doesn't take off.

I will take complete Sony dominance this generation ala' PS2. Won't happen but I won't mind entirely, though I would like some space left over for the WiiU.

I want interesting and diverse gaming experiences. That is something seems woefully lacking in the MS console strategy. They become FPS boxes primarily where anything unique goes to die. Unique and interesting games seem to have more space and acceptance in the other consoles ecosystems.

You knew what kind of response you were courting with that post, don't cry now because you got what you wanted.

To be honest I don't think Microsoft gives two shits about countries like Spain. I mean the userbase makes up a negligible portion of their total userbase. I don't think anyone from MS is losing any sleep about this.

Good news for Sony.

PAL is bigger than the US market since the PS1 era.

BTW, what will happen if they (MS) lose the US market?

It would be seriously funny if PS3 outsold Wii in the end. It's far fetched but not impossible at all.

Might give you a clue

1) PS360 (160 m units shipped) has already outsold the PS2 (nearly 160 m units shipped) by 40 million units in NA+EU+AU.

2) The PS3 is already the best selling console of the generation (excluding NA)

3) The PS2 only managed to sell 6 million units in US+JP during (2008 - 2013)

4) 249 is the new 149

Look, The PS3 has been #1 for three straight fiscal years. In other words, the PS3 is going to outsell its competitors during the vast majority of their lifecycles...

Wow. Is that graph real? Impressive numbers by Sony. However I think that was more due to the fact that you are unlikely to get a PS4 because of supply constraints whereas you can get The One relatively easily since the supply is there. But impressive numbers nonetheless for the PS4.

December NPD will be glorious.

I don't know dude, I've got a feeling MS will be number 1 for December. December should be where you see the numbers double from November but I don't see that from PS. This is not due to lack of demand. The demand is outstanding. Sony will lose December because they just couldn't produce enough PS4's to supply all the markets that they launched in. It's just that simple.

Thuway is one of most famous NeoGAF insiders. He's very reliable.
I know for a fact that he isn't as reliable as famousmortimer or CBoAT. Less than a year ago he was colossally wrong about the Xbox One specs.

Of course if you have a reputation as being an insider, you might get information sent to you because you have a reputation. But there is probably a reason he isn't posting that on GAF.

You are either fucking high or something completely nuts if you think the demand is as high for Ps4 and XBO. Holy shit.

At minimum they are comparable. There are no true landslide victories for either console at this point. And at bare minimum you can say that the launch of The One and the PS4 and the two biggest launches since the Wii and that's most certainly saying a lot.

If the ps4 is close or somehow beats the xbone in December despite MS flooding the us with units heads will roll at MS .

Im fully expecting MS to win December NPD simply because of Sony's demand "issues".

However, id love to see Sony somehow still come out on top in December...just to witness all the tears lol

If your criteria for what constitutes a joke includes laughter, then no.

Heads are probably already rollong at MS. Even if MS beats Sony in December (still possible but looking less and less like a sure thing) we already see anecdotal proof that demand for the ps4 remains high while xb1 is either staying the same or shrinking.

January NPD is gonne be brutal for MS...

Oh, so now we are calling it "The One"? I wonder which colored pill you took, it sure sounds crazy!

Can we please just stop replying to him? It makes the ignore feature kinda useless. Why are people arguing with someone delusional?

I just had to. Please don't ignore me! :'(

It wouldn't surprise me to see this be a repeat of the PS2 gen.

Microsoft did quite well in the US for the original Xbox. There were months it sold better than the PS2 during the holiday season if I recall (Halo 2 launch).

Demand looks like its much greater for PS4...it has captured the core audience and the casual-cores that were split between PS3/XB360 last gen. Xbox One looks like it's only capturing the core Xbox consumer.

There's no way I believe 250k per week in PS4 sales given the stock I've seen anecdotally (unless he's simply dividing what he's hearing the monthly sales are likely to be in Dec. and dividing by four and disregarding large single restocks during the month).

You don't see stock becaus PS4 sells out on shipment recieve days at stores. All the units get sold out before stores can even stock.

PS4 is also doing so well because of the wrongs Microsoft made this year. Remember E3?

Microsoft completely thought we wanted what they were offering. We simply wanted a sufficient game console that could replace the aging 7/8 year old ones we had.
