Tickets for IMAX 70mm engagements go up July 5! (Going by what my Science museum posted on FB)

Awwww my local theater isn't bringing out the 15/70mm IMAX projector for this. Instead they'll be showing it in laser. The Laser projector is capable of the 1.43:1 aspect ratio so theres still that. Plus the screen is still gigantic.

There was a exhibitor/trade screening on Monday night and there was a private tweet with the following reaction:

- The source loved and said it's the most intense film he has ever seen.
- It's a very stressful film.
- The cinematography was gorgeous and Zimmer's soundtrack was intense.
- One of the executives said that it's "one of the best films WB has ever produced".
- Something huge not shown in marketing occurs.
- The film received a standing ovation.

Source seemed reliable.

Now the hype starts to gear up again. Subdued trailers were perfect for keeping expectations in check. I imagine this is gonna end up like Gravity except a war film.

This is why I watch Nolan films! I want a film that makes Interstellar's stressful moments look quaint. That makes the docking scene (the combination of visuals + music) seem like child's play!

7 story high IMAX screen

70mm projection

I thought they took it down, but apparently it's still there. Haven't been back since Interstellar.

I'm afraid the movie's PG-13 rating will detract from the visceral experience a film about Dunkirk should be. That and Nolan's very sterile style have got me somewhat worried.

I just don't think Nolan is a good fit for a war movie.

Ready to be proven wrong, though!
