it is actually annoying though, because it has pretty much no value and actual football talk can get buried.

Why would it get buried? I don't think anyone's neglected football. It's been football talk all day, and the off topic organically comes up in conversation. Tomorrow when the football is closer then that'll be what people talk about for 10 pages. I don't really see the problem with talking for half a page about something not football related.

I enjoy the Transformers films but then I'm a fan of the brand and I love mindless action flicks with devastation and CGI. The second film is pretty shitty though with the only good scenes being Prime's entrance at the beginning and the forest fight.

When I grow up, I want to be an Autobot.

So tempted to buy an Ozil Germany shirt. :p

I slept watching Benfica x Chelsea, could only check the result just now, can't believe Chelsea won with a Kalou goal. Wtf Benfica. :lol

Collateral > Heat. Is this acceptable?

x1000 times yes. It's one of my favorite movies, it's probably the movie I watched the most in the past years. Tom Cruise's character is fucking boss.

cesc maybe, not silva.

no pato tomorrow? is he injured?

ha. pato has barely played this year because of injury and he's been garbage when he has, our 5th or 6th best striker. he's in the usa seeing a specialist now (same thing was done last summer to no avail).

as for the playmakers, i would agree with that in the sense that i think ozil and silva are close and cesc is on another level. the problem i have with ozil is that i haven't truly seen him carry a top level team in the way either silva or cesc have.

mpw, how are you liking Kaká lately? I told you he wasn't past it, he's still boss.

when he does this consistently, i'll admit i was wrong

that's the thing though, he won't

he shows glimpses of him going back to his best and then he'll have couple of shit games

can't wait till di maria comes back

can't see kaka staying and don't want to him to stay

kaka for rvp :D

milan should have cashed in on pato, just like they did with kaka and schevchenko before

Good that you said "imo".
He is very good though.

lol yeah, I really like cesc, but there's just something about Ozil, I was impressed with him at the World cup and then his first season in la liga was great. still not happy United didn't get him :(

Think he could've done it at United looking at our current midfield
unless pogba starts ;)
but it's pretty clear Ronaldo's the main man wherever he plays so he won't get as much praise as he possibly could at Madrid. Pato for tevez would've worked out well.

^Kaka for anderson? he's the next ronaldinho!!

Yeah, that's true. But isn't it partly because he isn't played consistently? I haven't been able to watch much of RM this season (or La Liga, really), I'd like to know how many games he has started in a row.

Kaka will always remain as one of my favorite players, I'd love to see him on his prime again.

well, he missed loads of time in the two seasons before this one as well, so we were never going to get that great a price. he wasn't cheap either, 25 million.

Congrats on the win versus Trinidad, elsk.

I rather not watch the Mexico vs Panama game. Everything's basically decided and we are probably gonna send only substitutes.

Thanks! I'm not that happy, the team doesn't look like a real team. Just like 3 players are moving the team forward... I blame the coach.

At least we're facing El Salvador (I think they're a better team than us right now) but we have our history of winning against them.

We are wearing black again? [/facepalm]

Is that our new home jersey now?

No shit, I thought Honduras would win the group before the tournament began. Mainly because of your coach, he actually has experience internationally.

I was always hoping for the second place actually, but I was expecting the team to actually look good. Like 90% of this team are from the U20 that failed to qualify for the WC, but still that U20 team played like 10x better than this U23... and the U20 was managed by a local honduran coach. So yes, I blame Luis Fernando Suárez for this shitty display so far.

edit: a México - El Salvador final would be the only fair result. But still, I hope we can win against them. Con algún milagro de por medio...

Man, you can tell Chepo did not handle the formation of the team today, regardless of how many substitutes we are fielding.

another record!

Are some of the front offices in the Premier League inept? I'm trying to pick a random team to support but I don't want to end up with one that is never going to have a chance at success.

(I am a fan of Minnesota sports teams so I am kind of sick of perpetual disappointment)

I am new to Football as a whole, so if this doesn't make sense I can rephrase...

Are we talking within a period of the next 5 years or do you mean NEVER?
I don't follow the Premier League, but because you're a yank, you should follow a team where a yank plays (Dempsey -> Fulham, Tim Howard -> Everton).
Clarence Goodson -> Brøndby. Do it.

Fulham is a decent mid table team. But you can forget about them winning the Premier League title. Everton is another mid table team, they got good "home made" players, personally Everton and Tottenham are my favorite english teams.

Tottenham is another great option. They are like the underdog among the big teams, they're currently third place on the league... have a great team and they'll compete in next season top european competition: Champions League.

Another great team is Manchester United, obviously. They're usually in the first place of the league. Another two "big" teams are Chelsea and Manchester City... they suck but have lots of money because they have a "sugar daddy".

I hope this can help you a little bit.

edit: Arsenal is another great option, forget about winning first place, but they usually manage to do good (3, 4 place). They play good looking football.

Why do you need to pick a team? Just watch a few matches see if you like any of the clubs maybe make a few bets. I've been watching the premier league for the past two seasons and still don't have a favored club.

Haha. I was going to recommend the Bundesliga, a lot of yanks play there now in shitty teams like Hoffenheim, Hertha and Dortmund. But I'm guessing is a lot easier to follow the Premier League in USA.
