I really love the music in that video, hope it's indicative of the game's soundtrack.
eh, i hope not. i little too far down the inception rabbit hole... the wavering digital noise et al.
the setting gives no reason to have those musical traits.
I really love the music in that video, hope it's indicative of the game's soundtrack.
LCD's have come a long way. And if you are into 3D movies and gaming, Plasmas just are not bright enough for daytime viewing.
I don't like it :/ looks this genish and uninspiring. Generic's not the right word
Mark this analogy right now:
Bethesda : Elder Scrolls/Fallout :: Square Eidos : Deus Ex/Thief
I assume TTLG already armed themselves with pitchforks.
Man, what a Dishonored knock-off. Do devs have no shame anymore? Why have we regressed from a crossbow to a bow? Golden Cat looks better than that.
lol
Time to correct my mistake and play the Thief games before this
Should I avoid Thief 3 or play it just for the famous Cradle level?
And how do you come to this conclusion?"We want to give the player freedome".
Expect small areas with little to no option folks. :<
Well Assassin's Creed 3 also says "other next-gen platforms" and explicitly lists Wii U, PS4, PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
What do you think they mean?
Just the 720. They have to say "other next gen platform" since the 720 has not officially been announced yet. So they can't call it the "720" or "Durango". There is nothing stopping them from saying the Wii U.
maybe game informers just did a typo? Or maybe its steambox?I feel the timing is kind of relevant here though.
Splinter Cell and Black Ops 2 were announced before the Wii U was formally re-unveiled, and Splinter Cell is still being cagey, which makes me think they were debating whether or not to port it.
Need For Speed was a notably late port.
Watch_Dogs is the main one that sticks out to me, though that game was pretty cagey with platforms in general until recently.
However, what incentive is there for them to not announced Thief for the Wii U if it was coming, given that it's now March 2013 and the system is released?
We definitely have Wii U games being announced in tandem these days with things like Assassin's Creed IV.
Itll be interesting to see how long cross gen lastsGuess this will be one of the first next-gen-only multiplats, then. I still expect a lot of cross-gen multiplats even by Q4 2014.
And of course it's not coming to Wii U, lol.
maybe game informers just did a typo? Or maybe its steambox?
When did Garrett become a ninja? And where's the eye scar?
Edit: Oh it's a reboot.
I'm throwing all my chips at this Thief remake. If it is a pure stealth game, all these Dishonored comparisons can eat crap. Thief will be the better game by a mile if this is the case. So sick of the hybrid game trend.
They are announcing way to early if this is a 2014 release. Though it is square-enix.
they seem to be a pretty mature people, so I guess no.
and which could be the other next-gen console they hinted at? they say "consoles" as plural
If you're into 3D movies and gaming, LCD technology should be the last thing you consider in a TV. Unless curtains happen to be a rare commodity in your neck of the woods.
I dunno, does making a game called Tomb Raider without raiding tombs at its focus, with a character who claims to hate tombs make it such a game, or does it make it an entirely different game? But then, I'm not entirely sure that this is the appropriate thread for such a discussion anyway. My apologies.Eh, not sure I agree. If you own the IP and plan to revisit the premise of Thief, what difference does it make?
UNVEILED FOR PC AND NEXT GENERATION CONSOLES BY EIDOS-MONTRÉAL
Critically-Acclaimed Studio Returns with a New Vision
LONDON (5th March 2013) Eidos-Montréal®, a part of Square Enix Europe and the award winning studio behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex: Human Revolution®, today unveiled THIEF for PC, PlayStation®4, and other next generation consoles. THIEF is a reinvention of a franchise that helped define an entire genre of games.
Time has moved on. Power has shifted. New greed replaces the old.
But to remain free in The City of chains that is still the greatest prize.
First I stole to survive then I survived to steal.
I am one man; I hear your secrets, see your hidden truths.
I am the shadows, the dark and deadly, the velvet night. You will not see me coming.
I am Garrett .Whats yours is mine.
There is a rising tide of fear in The City. Hatred saturates every stone and whilst the rich prosper, the less fortunate face misery and repression. Ravaged with sickness and famine, they wait for something to change.
Into this shadowy world steps Garrett, THE master thief in a first-person adventure featuring intelligent design that allows players to take full control, with freedom to choose their path through the games levels and how they approach and overcome each challenge.
"Were handling a precious gemstone with THIEF. Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence - which we have excellent experience of doing at Eidos-Montréal - whilst also introducing THIEF to a brand new, next-generation, audience, said Stephane DAstous, General Manager, Eidos-Montréal. Our goal is to deliver the fantasy of being Garrett, THE master thief, and were building this game around that core experience.
Exclusive coverage and developer interviews can be found in Game Informers April issue. Additionally, visit GameInformer.com/thief throughout the month for on-going coverage.
THIEF will be available in 2014 for PC and PlayStation®4. It is also planned for other next-generation consoles.
This is usually when Q1 2014 games are announced though.
Honestly I'm guessing it's just a generic term that most marketing teams haven't dropped since the PS4 reveal wasn't that long ago.
Game Informer cover stories are often done a few weeks in advance. They could have told them "PC and other next-gen platforms." and then later added PS4 when that was announced, but the old term is still there.
You would expect people to read through the press release (which says next gen console"s") before releasing it but this is the game industry we are talking about so yeah.
"Everyone" if you exclude people who knew better, sure.
Unreal Engine 3?
The lighting looks like a mid current gen UE3 game.
If its next gen only I am sure its probably looks great and these are just weird shots.
