OP's boss just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Office culture (I'm an expert), but coffee and breaks are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in a warehouse where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in an office, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is OP's coworkers, after seeing this, is not going to want to work for OP's boss, nor will they work ever again. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but OP's boss has alienated an entire office with this move.

OP's boss, publicly apologize and pour out this guy some coffee or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I received a call from a data entry contractor who told me she'd be late to work because her ex-fiance was in the hospital and she was his emergency contact. K, no big deal. Then she called back like two hours later, and told me, "I'm not going to be able to come into work at all today. I'm still talking to the police. There was an incident last night... it was kinda my fault... there was a machete involved." It was the most Florida conversation I've had to this day. Anyway, after telling the studio head this, he told me I had to call her right back and fire her. That was very awkward, as I was actually on vacation at the time, and day-drunk. Hoo boy.

We are in the break room talking about the NFL games yesterday. My supervisor poured himself some coffee and my co-worker put out his cup, and dude just walked right by him. His face went from shock to sadness to anger. I stated laughing my ass off. I had legit tears in my eyes. What made it funny is my supervisor didn’t do it on purpose.

She must have at least gotten out on bail, because she picked up her belongings like a week later. My boss wouldn't let her into the office, though - he made me meet her in the downstairs lobby with a crate. Haha, man, in retrospect, my boss back then was a big coward.
