Nights would be cool. I've never played it but i've read GAF drool over this game for years. I'd love to finally see what all the hype is about
Im very aware how much coverage our Next Month page is getting across the globe right now. I have to admit I thought it was a cool little teaser when we did it but I didnt anticipate it blowing up quite so much! Ive seen everything from Family Guy to Woody Woodpecker fitting perfectly in that star cluster! Very Happy
Anyhoo, Im here to iron a few things out. This is not an April Fool. I remember once I did an April Fool on CUBE with Gannondorf Photoshopped into Soul Calibur II and people got really upset when they found out it wasnt true so we dont do those kind of things anymore. I think theyre just a bit of a laugh but obviously other more sensitive people dont. . .
Also, we do have respect for our readers and we dont set out to purposely mislead people. The whole point of the Next Month image is to be a teaser and to get people guessing. Its just A BIT OF FUN. There are no lies in there. Innevitably the situation might change between the time of the mag going to print and the release of the next issue (it is a good six weeks after all). The game may end up being announced online before we hit the shelves. Ocassionally these things happen and its completely out of our control. However, the point is that we are not misleading you there is a new game due to be announced.
In summary then, please take a deep breath and count to ten when youre thinking about this. There are quite a few images that perfectly fit into that star cluster. Weve never mentioned any names it could be anything.
And if it turns out to be anything other than NiGHTS, whatever credibility this magazine had (I've never followed it closely before, and I've never jumped on the bandwagon bashing before) is entirely shot.

MiamiWesker said:That is confirmation that it is NOT Nights. Just read it, they are already putting their garbage spin on it just like they did with RE4. Basically they are trying to say the image means nothing.
JJConrad said:I don't think we should ban the mag just because we were owned. We're the ones letting our imaginations run (like we always, ALWAYS do).
Alright, I'll concede that I won't get mad when it's a game other than NiGHTS, IF they show something that does fit more perfectly/naturally into that star-teaser pic.JJConrad said:The Nights logo is a very close match, but it's not 100%. It could be something else, but we've only really looked in that one direction.
Oh, I wish we were.but we no where near actually banning IGN.

hehe your blog got an insane amount of traffic during those few days didn't it? I remember reading all those posts about the 'nintendo game' and laughing at the comments. What an insane E3 that was.

When you refer to the old ONM, you do mean early N64 period and earlier. During the life of the GCN, ONM was a retty crap magazine. Stuck with NGC myself.Kobun Heat said:As a displaced veteran of the old, awesome ONM UK, I love every one of these threads.
In Britain the hero of the Zelda games is known as Rinky Dink Link.TSA said:Don't give me some excuse that "Gannondorf" is British so you can spell it that way or something.

Honestly It hasn't aged well at all. I was just playing it a couple weeks ago and yeah, looked a lot worse then my memory. But still is awesome none the less. But hasn't aged as well as some other games from it's era.Y2Kevbug11 said:Eesh, I was looking for some shots of NiGHTS to prove it hasn't aged poorly at all and the shots I found were not so good.
Probably some configuration thing with whatever settings the emulator had, but I still think it looks great. Colorful and wonderful.

Before the magazine even came out, they were hyping for Capcom's Wii game plans. Luckily for their skins, Twilight Rockstar told us beforehand there were no Wii game announcements. However, on the issue's cardboard sleeve, they claimed the DS Lite was a world exclusive and the world's first hands-on session with the Rev. controller. And inside, there was the power supply = stand cockup.
For a few issues, they kept promising exclusive new Twilight Princess things, never delivering. They did have some new ones in the end, but they weren't new to anyone with eyes, and OMN claimed they were new and exclusive as some people hadn't seen them.
A few more small things here and there, the big lie of claiming they were a good mag... then came BWii. They promised a big, explosive new Wii game: an exclusive. Turns out, it's BWii, which was... already announced. "BUT WE PLAYED IT MORE THAN THEM!" ONM cried, whilst I was busy getting hate for posting "ONM fails at being good" on my site.
Tiny things here and there no-one cares about probly, and then we get to the current NiGHTS fiasco. How they still have a reputation, no-one knows.

It's a new Wii game. On the final page there's a box that says "Next Month". They specifically say here it's a new Wii game.MaddenNFL64 said:The BWii thing was out of their control. Nintendo decided after giving them the 'exclusive', to show the game anyway at that German expo.
And, yeah it has to be Nights. They also said 'new game', so not VC.
Moz La Punk said:Ngamer (prev. N64 and NGC) is the one to trust. I remember they had the exclusive 'this is how Zelda works on the Wii' article, probably thanks to Jim Merrick who dissapeared from Nintendo shortly after. They seemed to have good ties with Merrick.
It will probably be different. With NGamer's clue space and planets come to mind. Surely the better clue for NiGHTs is a night sky.BrodiemanTTR said:So is everyone just assuming that NGamer has the same story as Official NiGHTS Magazine?
