Why do players do stupid shit in critical games? In both games, the penalties we took weren't the kind where it was either take the penalty or probably give up a goal. They were unnecessary and unforced. We could have won the fucking division and drawn Chicago, who we handled in the regular season. Instead we get the best team in the league. Un-fucking-believable.

Also, I'm glad to see 6 of the 8 matchups in the first round I find interesting. Don't really care about Panthers/Devils, and Sharks/Blues, so 6 out 8 is pretty damn good.

The Thrashers-to-Winnipeg deal was announced May 31 last year. I figure the league can move quietly for about an extra week if necessary.

And two of the three were beatable. Had we won the division, I would have been fairly comfortable placing a million dollar bet on the Kings defeating the Blackhawks in a series. We'll never know though.

Canucks are peaking at the right time. They've won 8 of their last 9, with most of their lineup healthy and rested. Funny how a season of relative mediocrity (compared to last year) ended up in another President's Trophy. I wonder if fans are spoiled.

A lot of questions were answered tonight, which is exactly what you need heading into the post season. A Kesler goal would've been nice though.

I would've preferred San Jose in the first round but what can you do. Hopefully our pk will be a lot better then it was in '08. And hopefully LA's offense doesn't suddenly decide to wake up.

It'll be interesting to see how the Flyers tackle Crosby and Malkin in the playoffs. One of the keys of Habs beating the pens in that magic run was being able to contain them. Flyers have owned the Pens in pittsburgh, have they kept both of them tied down?

Seriously though, hope Toews is okay; he was great when the Hawks won the cup, but he was the best player on an absolutely stacked Team Canada, which says a lot. Don't want to see young superstars like him and Crosby get taken out of the game because of head issues.

He was cleared for contact awhile ago and he's been doing full practices so I can't imagine he's too far off. I'd still probably shut him down for the year because Chicago isn't going to win the Cup even with him back healthy.
