I was watching Central Intelligence earlier and basically came out and saw the Matt Martin signing. Wasn't sure about any rumblings on Russell.

until russell signs elsewhere i'm bracing myself for him in toronto, where there's smoke there's fire

martin i can swallow but russell at a big cap hit and term would be baffling and horrendous

If anything, Blues can leave him unprotected for next year's expansion draft.

He's also on a two-year deal, which isn't bad and probably easily movable.

Presumably Zatkoff, since that's who Buffalo were rumored to be after.

Holland you are a freaking idiot. I've been saying it for god knows how many seasons now, but you are done. Sure, let's just go ahead and sign all the spare tires, even if you don't have any road tires, at least the spares will let you still move, even if it's at 35 mph.

Unless you have this master scheme to get a number 1 or 2 defense men via trade, you're going to be waiving all these young players who are ready to play. Worst stupid GM in the league right now. Another year of signing junk, and I thought there was hope after a decent off season last year.

Where does Zach Redmond fit in MTL? It's a one way contract, is he a 7D?

I think Mantha is going to be in the AHL all year, Franzen and Vitale will be buried on LTIR, and Pulkkinen will be re-signed for cheap. They're going to HAVE to make a trade to get a D, so I'm guessing one of Jurco/Tatar/Nyquist is gone along with either Smith or Ericsson.

Wings have 9.15 mil left to sign DD, Mrazek, and Pulks (that includes the 5 mil we get back for Franzen and Vitale on LTIR).

If they trade Tatar I may be done with the team. Nyquist is a Euro-soft pansy. Get rid of him.

To this point, I'm not honestly sure how today could have gone worse for Detroit.

I don't really think there's much of an issue with giving Radulov a 1 year contract even at $6M... he is a high upside bet with low risk

the reason I wouldn't want to sign him is because he's kind of crazy and a douchebag. Better him than a domestic abuser though.

Radulov for a year ain't bad even with the price.

Dude could be flipped by the deadline at best or just not come back next year at worst. Habs aren't taking a huge risk.

The whole character issues thing is hilarious, having just flipped Subban to Nashville for seemingly the same issues, but it could turn out okay.

That being said, a lot of stuff was said about Semin and how he was better behaved than before, and he didn't even make it before the trade deadline last season for the same character issues.

it's not a bad deal at all, it's low risk. The only problem is that i'm sick of those "tryout" contracts to fix our top 6, i'd much rather have an established player

and yeah the timing is absolutely disgusting
