Guessing this will be used to justify why the hero will be stronger than normal ghouls.

The manga being well received helped.
The VA in this show is pretty good
Yeah I was hesitant based on the promo, but FUNimation is usually at least decent. Tokyo Ghoul has that over Akame Ga Kill and Parasyte at least. Animation is pretty good too, so far.

Also I hear they explain it later as some sort of plot twist but I could be wrong. I haven't seen more of this show than just this episode. I just feel I've heard something of the sort.

Manga spoilers since the Anime never actually explains it.
It's eventually revealed that she was actually set up and this was all planned out.

oh yeah, presentation-wise, it's alright. Dub sounds acceptable & looks rather decent.
So basically, I feel like this'll be Akame ga Kill, but it looks & sounds better.

Eh, in practical terms he's closer to a full ghoul than Shinichi was to a full parasyte.
In mental terms, Shinichi actually accepts it a lot better.
