I just got to the part where he literally threw his child on a shelf making him bleed.

Unbelievable.

Gettin' that ad $.

There's so many bad videos on YouTube of this. My daughter was watching a "kids" video of people dressed up as super heroes beating each other up, tying girls up with ropes, all while teaching them it's ok to punch people and scream loudly and use pacificers at age 10. They put music in which one time I was watching porn and heard the same fucking music coming from the iPad that I heard in the porn. They release a TON of these videos under a LOT of different YouTube accounts and they all get millions of views.

Needless to say, DCF needs to visit this household

Google needs to control their shit. It was all fun for a while to have everyone upload their stuff, but it is obviously getting out of control and leads to bad things.

Yeah, I was about to comment on that. How did this shit get so big without someone stepping in and saying "yo this is fucked up?" They have that many subs, you'd think this would have blown up a year ago.

Simple: Automated systems, and a niche that doesn't care. Youtube themselves probably don't look through the videos and content; meanwhile others have covered this, but it took someone like Franco - the bigger fish in the pond - to really get the ball rolling.

Nine out of ten orphans can't tell the difference.
If this is the horrible abuse they put out there for millions to see imagine the shit that goes on off camera. Poor kids...

Yeah, based on that video the family seems rather dysfunctional to the point where i can't see a persuasive argument against it being called abuse.

Was she watching it on a phone or tablet? If so, have you looked into the Youtube kids app?

As for these "parents", I hope they get everything and the kitchen sink thrown at them. I've been fuming since Defranco's first video.

Here you have someone that gets to see his kids every day and he treats them like shit.

I don't get to see my son often (we live in different states, and I've seen him maybe 4 months tops since Dec 14 ) and I'd do anything to get to spend some time with him (I'll have him for this upcoming summer).

My heart goes out to those kids and I hope things get rectified soon.

It was an iPad she was watching it on. Mind you my daughter is only 3 and a half. it was the "kids" version of YouTube. The problem is YouTube thinks its kid friendly when it's really not. You can find it by searching "toys"

Gotcha.

Google does need to do a better job with the algorithm.

How the fuck did this channel of parents abusing their children get 800k subscribers?!?!?! Why hasn't YouTube shut this channel down?!?!?!?!
YouTube has gotten so big that 800,000 people is still somewhat in the shadows tbh.

Also, this is reality TV for those people, I would guess.

This is fucked up.

Have anyone notified the police? It's beyond anything else at this point.

CPS have been apparently notified, but won't say anything further on whether or not they'll investigate (which almost certainly means an investigation, just can't say it before they do it).

What a disgusting person.
He's using his kids and make them cry for fucking internet fame but hey, haters gonna hate, am I right?

i just watched some more videos. It seems like the oldest brother is just as much of a bully and abuser as his parents. They feed off of each others shit. Not surprising that one of the kids adopts characteristics like this.

Even the smaller brother that slapped his sister and clearly likes being on the other side of the abuse gets it from them.

They need actual moderation and not that algorithm shit for everything

I read 300 hours of video get uploaded to YouTube every minute. Think about that, I'm not sure it's even in the realm of feasibility to actually moderate that much content. That being said I whole heartedly agree with you that something needs to get done.

Thanks for the warning, not gonna watch it.
I wonder if abusive shit like this is covered by YouTube's new policy? Hopefully it is and the creators don't get any money out of it, because I'm sure ad companies don't want their ads on videos of abused kids.

Daddy O Five needs a visit from some Five-O Daddies.

Can't believe these shitstains were broadcasting this blatant child abuse on youtube for as long as they did.

I mean someone has to be checking up on channels that have more than 500K subscribers, right? How many of them are there?

How long has DaddyOFive been operating that channel on Youtube?

What about channels with very little subscribers but millions of views? (ie viral videos)

amazing how social media can make adults act like the biggest dumbasses of them all.

I wonder if they'll think this prank is so hilarious if their kids get taken from them.

I did a quick look cause I was curious myself and it looks like as of April last year there were over 2,000 channels with over a million views.

However long Daddy0Five has been operating the channel is too long and I really can't believe if took this long to get pushed into the mainstream the way it has now. Shame really. Hopefully this is something youtube and other social media will be able to sort out. It's only growing as a problem.

The fact that this channel has existed, and gained 700k+ subs before being called out is astonishing. It really highlights how fucking sick our society has become.

They will probably think they're the victims not the abusers. Self awareness is a rare commodity.

Oh, they already do. The thing is, they view their behaviour as normal - being punished for it therefore is cruel and unnecessary, rather than an indication they need to rethink their life.

I have a daughter, and I will admit there's some fun to be had in teasing her playfully and winding her up. But sitting there and yelling at your kid while they're crying their eyes out, for something you know they didn't do, then posting it on youtube and going 'lol just a prank' seems really shitty. I love my daughter to bits, I couldn't handle the guilt of knowing that I've reduced her to tears for the sake of entertaining other people.

Aiii

So not worth it

I was playfighting with my goddaughter once and she stomped on my foot to get me to let her go, she actually broke my foot. So when she found out she felt so guilty that she cried herself to sleep. When my brother told me that night I didn't sleep all night and called her first thing in the morning to make sure she felt better.

I don't even understand in what mindset a parent has to be to see one of their kids in tears and not immediately want to do everything in their power to make the kid feel better, that just points to severe psychological issues for me (on the parents part), because that's just not normal behaviour in any way. And these people take it that extra step, by purposely creating this anguish to these kids, heartbreaking.

This is truly heartbreaking.

It's so blatantly obvious that the children are taking damage and that the parents are monsters.

I'm so upset right now. At these scumbags that are supposed to love their children and teach them values are profiteering on Youtube with these kinds of videos.

Fuck them. And fuck Youtube.

These parents are monsters and should be behind bars. I can't believe that Youtube is ok with people profiting on their platform off of child abuse.

I'm willing to bet the dad was a bully when he was a kid and was allowed to get away with it.

So why were all the old threads locked? One with a Modbot post about sending the "outrage brigade", something I found a little odd at the time.

What actually scares me as well, is that the oldest brother asks the dad " can you turn off the video for a bit" while he is "fake" hitting the other brother.

The oldest brother seems to be the bully as well, but can you blame him with parents like that?

Two separate questions :

Someone mentioned in one of the posts in here that Cody said "I miss my real mom", and that she posted a response video at some point towards all of this. Is there a reason she hasn't stepped in like a god damn mother and taken the kids out of the situation?

Change.org petitions - What do they actually do? This isn't an insult towards the site, but if the "Call CPS" petition gets 2 votes, 20k votes, etc...What does that do? Does Change.org do something?

After reading more about this case, I can only feel disgusted. Can't bring myself to watch more than one video. That child is living a hell of constant playground bullying by the people supposed to care for him.

I've worked as a child psychiatrist and I've never encountered this degree of emotional abuse.

Emotionally abuse your kid for 15 minutes, having him cry, scream, throw stuff. Then say "it's your just a prank" and complain about his behavior. What the fuck.

Bro that's the whole thing that makes it even more infuriating! He "pranks" them and then goes on to punish him for not reacting in the way he wants!

Like in that Xbox prank video, the kid is smart enough to know you're messing with him and decides to ignore the dad calling him. The asshole proceeds to get pissed and punish him for it and makes Cody apologise and tell him "you're the best dad ever"

Apparently custody rights have been taken away from her. Her just taking the kid without the fathers approval would probably get her in major trouble.

If those things are true, we don't know for sure.

Hear hear. I hope these children are taken into care and get the help that they need.

What the hell, America! Where's the cops? Why haven't these kids been taken away from them yet?? It's so obviously child abuse.
If this happened where I live, it'd be all over the fkn news and the parents would be arrested so damn fast.
I might complain about living in a nanny state (Victoria, Australia), but damnit, US, where's your damn law enforcement??
These kids clearly need help!

Good lord, I never watched the videos from the previous threads because I didn't want to give those people views, but watching that Philip DeFranco video, these people are real shitheads.

And not only are they themselves abusive assholes, but they're teaching their children to be the same way.

I really hope Youtube pulls them.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

The only job in the future will be people moderating youtube and social media

Just watched the video about the ink. The mother is screaming like a lunatic and the kids are scared out of their mind. I have a pretty broad sense of humor but I don't see the humor in this in any way shape of form.
