Honestly, Scott always looked dumb doing the Frankensteiner and little flip slam thing. Like it was a cool spectacle at first, but it never fit his look.

I thought it was pretty good. The really big muscle guy that can also do quick and agile moves. A nice juxtaposition, if you will.

Finished the RevPro show - Tanahashi vs Marty was fun, but there's one bad botch that looked really bad on DVD. They managed to cover up Bret slipping off the ring steps, though. Ricochet vs Devitt and Davey vs Zack are both seriously awesome matches, well worth keeping an eye out for.

The Raw after his 18 second loss to Sheamus at Mania is when it truly started to click with the fans.
With WWE fans? Yes. Mainly due to the hardcore fan contingent in attendance at RAW.
But YES chants were in full effect before that Raw at ROH Showdown in the Sun... so let's not give 18 seconds too much credit here.

I'm even hearing Si! chants for El Generico long before they were brought into prominence for Del Rio.

He had a few severe back injuries, plus a lot of added mass and striations, then he basically had a dead foot the last 4-5 months of WCW.

Do those gifs look sped up?

Kind of...can't be sure though.

Whatever. I don't give a shit. I'd rather them be a little fast than herky jerky like the WM ones that I did on IE. But sometimes gifs look different speeds in different browsers. I've noticed that the image quality of WCW 2000 stuff doesn't look like it had as much work put into it as 1998/1999, which is quite fitting, really.

Man, WCW in 2000 really was a spectacle wasn't it? That first gif of the brainbuster, or whatever it is, looked so, so dangerous. Yeesh

So I think Dolph Ziggler is my current favorite active wrestler in the company. He can really sell and just has the body movement that is appealing on the eyes in the ring. It's a shame he's not better utilized because he seems like one of those guys that can bring out the best in lesser opposition.

I've been thinking about that and I'd really like to see Bryan vs X-Pac. X-Pac can still go when he wants to. I bet they'd have a really good match if Kid wasn't worried about his bandana not covering his bald spot.

His career's dead brah. I'm sorry. I wish he had a legitimate reign. But the concussion ended it and messed up his judgement....

Josh had most of his work in IGF and NJPW, teamed up with Yuji Nagata and even wrestled Bobby Lashley and Tim Sylvia there. i'll review most, if not all of his wrestling stuff in the future.

Bash at the Beach 2000 is a very watchable PPV. My only problem with it is that by right Kanyon should be the no 1. contender for the world title coming out of it.

would you gentleman be inetrested in a Billy Robinson vs Nick Bockwinkel shoot-style rules match?

i have it right here.

edit: upcoming stuff is...

Thankfully he did get a title shot out of it. It was sometime between the Next Nitro and the next PPV. Actually, I think he just got inserted into the main event scene for a few weeks and had matches with Jeff and Goldberg or something. I don't remember and don't want to remember that much.

YES. Is it the one where they are both old and Robinson gets pissed and Nick has to tell him to calm down?

I think it was just a move he did sometimes, but not really a regular move. Busaiku Knee was a pretty common move on the indies for a while. Even in WWE, Ted DiBiase Jr., Trent?, and Yoshi Tatsu used it. I think Darren Young used it for a a while as well. I'm sure Bryan had used it once or twice before Summerslam 2013.

Yeah, he never used it as a finisher before WWE. It's something he picked up from KENTA (who calls it the Busaiku Knee Kick) during their long-running feud in ROH & NOAH;

As much as I like his submissions shenanigans, there's something really satisfying in seeing him flying with that knee.

I don't like watching Scott Steiner in HD. When he starts screaming at refs/wrestlers/fans, all his veins pop out and it's fucking scary.

2spooky4me

Steiner vs Nash vs Goldberg is still probably the most offensive thing Russo has ever done. Goldberg won't take the jackknife and wont' do the job, going off script in the process. This is mentioned on air, yet he still sells the scripted rib injury on the way out as Russo comes out to tell him to get in the ring and do his job. Then the announcers all bring attention to the fact that Goldberg broke the script and wonder aloud how the guys are going to improvise a finish to the match. Russo has been responsible for a lot of bad (and good) stuff, but this to me takes the cake as the biggest "FUCK WRESTLING" angle he's ever done. It's amazing.

Jesus fucking Christ. Can you guys please limit it to 1 .gif heavy review per 50 posts or something? I can literally feel my phone gasping for air here.

Switch your gaf mobile settings to turn off gifs. you can still tap on the ones you want to see or are curious about. It really helps.

All of WCWs big spots were terrible. I remember after watching Sting in a tshirt at GAB 2000, the Stinger's career was downhill from there.

Also Stacy Keibler something something sexual something something

wrestling gifs > videogame gifs

1000%. Wrestling gifs are the best gifs period. Especially out of context. Clearly the universe is looking out for me again as I spilled my drink and am out of booze. Definitely trying to protect me today. If only it could have been looking out for me the first time I watched all this shit.
