Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

Overall though if its like someone else suggested and the only abilities it disables are ones that only affect you in multiplayer then I'm fine with it, if you have to do multiplayer stuff to get everything available for use in single player, ME3 style, then I will be annoyed.
You don't. Notoriety doesn't affect single player at all last I read.

This just means I won't personally invest anytime in the multiplayer, because I know for certain there will be times when I just want to play campaign at my own pace. They've instituted a direct multiplayer penalty for keeping that choice open, even in the campaign, so, fuck.

Damn it GAF. Because of all your impressions, I just ordered my PS4 which was planned for September. Can't wait to get my hands on it and Watch_Dogs this week!

I made 40 new friends via this thread without even having Wash_Dogs

I also pre-order - and I swore I'd wait

Question though, is there anything stopping you from just running uPlay in offline mode or signing out of PSN (Or whatever it is you xbone people do) when you want some peace and quiet? I imagine that doesnt reset your skills.

A lot of the invasion system revolves around retaliation: someone invades you and either fails or succeeds, and you get the option to retaliate by invading their game trying to steal stuff back.

If you let users toggle the online matchmaking on and off on the fly without penalty you will get massive abuse from people invading other players and quickly toggling multiplayer off to prevent people from hacking them back. It's a failsafe mechanic to prevent abuse.

I don't fully understand the "fear" of invasions, to be honest. If someone invades and hacks your phone, you're not forced to take action. You can just continue your business if you don't care about losing points. I HIGHLY recommend giving the multiplayer aspect a shot before preemtively disabling everything.

and I'm hyped again.

I'm having to trade some stuff in in order to pick this up (haven't done that in a while, but things are a bit tight right now), so ill be picking it up mid day, which is nice because i can read some reviews whilst i wait.

I think it's also important to state that this game is no Assassin's Creed clone at all. Since a lot of people feared that. But there are very little similarities and the game just plays different at its core.

I got the impression from the IGN stream that the structure of the open world gameplay is similar, but mechanically it feels completely different.

any pc streams going? i'm having hype problems.

Dennis what's up with the motion blur while you're standing still? Are you moving the camera when you take the shot or is that some weird DOF effect?

Its just how I play campaigns and single player, especially open worlds. I take my time and explore and relax and drive. I do missions when I want something more focused.

This invasion stuff seems great for people who want a new kind of competitive multiplayer game first and foremost, and not so great when you're looking forward to a single player game with some added multiplayer modes for variety.

Its a complete shift in perspective really, and something I hope doesn't catch on too much. I never lost all my stuff in GTA Online because I wanted to play single player without getting jumped, nor in Red Dead or literally any other games with multiplayer progression.

I guess it'll come down to whether other players can mess up your day, whether you can play offline without issues, and how important those points and unlocks are to the enjoyment of any non-campaign modes.

I keep coming into this thread for impressions on the game, all I see is screenshots.

For those of you who've played it.. how is it?

Investigations are fun.

One of them
is about a serial killer who leaves behind bodies with a creepy audio file

Really good so far, the production is top notch and the missions are nicely varied. The story is so-so but I haven't been bored once, really

spent today playing with lisa, captured some story game play (uploading) and also ended on a rampage

You can see it here

Hope this smaller thumb is better for posting?

While explosions might not match up to the fateful trailer they're still pretty

I've found some look nice but (check that video for an example^) the ones that are mostly smoke look the wrong size. like they took photos of smoke and scaled them up. it just looks.hmmm

You can see a nicer one towards the end as the police blows up next to him. That aside i love how many things there are to smash into. see how the grenade launcher blows loads of bollards away at 1:31
Thats the type of thing i love. Stuff everywhere!

Look at this fucking game. Look!

I would like to ask you for something. Can you link directly to screenshots if you are uploading to abload? If you link to the site like you are doing now, when somebody is clicking on screenshot it takes him to the site and there are pop up ads. Also if somebody is quoting your image and I click on it to enlarge it takes me to the site.I think if you will link directly to the picture URL it will enlarge screenshot instead of opening whole new tab.
Just click right mouce button on your screenshot after uploading and copy its URL.

after 4 hours of playing it..

So far it's okay
The story missions are good
The hideouts are fun
Awesome shooting system
Great graphics
The side missions just boring
Bad driving system
Awful people react on street
Repetitive environment and people
Very bad physics

Is there anything to actually do outside of the missions? Is there any point to just exploring? That's part of open world games, IMO.. looking for stuff. GTAV was rife with stuff like that, I could spend hours doing absolutely nothing productive and enjoying every second of it.

Can I do that in WD?

^
I don't know from where they got these pics, and they look possessed or something
because the game isn't like this at all and how can they hid the hud ?

I'm getting it on 360. Something is going to have to come out and be jaw dropping before I put down on a Ps4. I'm convinced that will be awhile.

If the rumor that the unveiling of UC4 at E3 will usher a "new standard in console graphics", you won't be waiting long. OK well, maybe till next year anyway.

And there isn't much reason to doubt it is true.
