This hype train is beyond any capacitive measure. We've had the gamut of inexplicable outcomes:
1. Crash is returning.
2. Shenmue 3 is a thing!
3. FFVII Remake
4. Street Fighter is Exclusive
5. Also, Dragon's Dogma is exclusive.
6. Also, Dragon Quest is going to be there.
7. PS1/PS2 Emulation
8. Cheesecake will be served.
That's a lot of hype. :/ How do you manage that sort of train.

If that rumoured backwards compatibility allowed for physical discs to be playable on any PS4 system regardless of region, that would be amazing.

Because pcs vastly more powerful than the ps4 can barely manage to emulate ps3 games at 2fps. There's optimization, and then there's "not gonna happen for years".

Not possible on PS4. And they have PS Now for that.
Don't think PS4 can handle PS3 emulation.

GT6 wasn't great, Drive Club left a sour taste in our mouths and it's DEFINITELY coming at some point. I feel like I should be more hyped for it...I'm just not. But you're right, we haven't really discussed much GT7

PS3's security hack would mean that people could write malicious code and make it onto a PS3 "Game" and if they used that disk in a PS4 through backwards compatibility and could compromise the PS4 security. Also, PS3 emulation is a lot harder than PS1 and PS2 emulation.Biggest of all, Sony are pushing PlayStation Now to stream PS3 games, it'd be *mostly* pointless when everyone can just replay their own library of games, not everyone has a bunch of PS3 games true, but it'd cut a hefty amount of potential profit from the service.

Just remembered its thanks to Sony that Demons Souls was even made. Sure Sony America dropped the ball on releasing it in the States but Sony Japan greenlighted the project for Japan Studio and From to make the game.
Now thanks to that we got Dark Souls and we are getting Bloodborne. Sony, may not get everything correct but when they do they are awesome at it.
Case in Point: Demon's Souls, and the PS4
