Fury finally brought me around to Logan Lerman...but I don't know if i'd like to see him as Spidey. Based on what little I've seen of that O'Brien kid, I think he'd be great.

Marvel isn't stupid and they know what the fans want. As far as I'm concerned J.K. Simmons is as good as back.

The entire situation is pure fan-service, so I definitely agree with you.

You can easily justify his existence in comparison to the first SM movie if it ever goes that far too.

Kinda wish the kid from The Flash was getting consideration - the dude is perfect for Peter.

I think Simmons is 100% back. I personally would love to see Dafoe back as Norman.

They have done it before, and Simmons fits in as that Agent Coulston character in the film universe.

Doesn't hurt that he's about to win an Oscar as well :p.

What I think Marvel will do is introduce a teenage still in high school Spidey (thus the young actor), but they'll skip all of the origin crap and have him established as Spidey for like a year or so. I'd put really high odds on them pulling an "Incredible Hulk" and just showing Spidey's origin during the opening credits.

gustin would be perfect .

no chance they cast him though. i think marvel would just go for someone unrelated to the ongoing cw shows.

Yeah, sorry guys, but there's no way we're getting Miles as Spider-Man in the MCU. At least not as the introductory Spider-Man in the MCU. People seem to forget that Parker preceded Miles in the Ultimate universe too. You kind of need Parker in order to have Miles, don't you? We'll probably get Miles after the Parker actor's contract is over.

Lerman is clearly the better choice of the two in every regard. Perks of Being a Wallflower shows he's the perfect Peter. Please go with him Marvel

To be fair, it doesn't matter who it is..... GAF will call the person pretty and hipster if it isn't the EXACT person they would have chosen.

Yeah, and by that, we mean Idris Elba!

IDRIS ELBA FOR PETER PARKER! SAOIRSE RONAN FOR WHOEVER THE FUCK! THAT'S HOW NEOGAF ROLLS!

This is like gaming hype train. Mostly likely answers are obviouse but GAF continues to "BELIEVE " only to be disappointed.
It's going to be Parker
It's one of those situations where the internet thinks what they want is more popular then it is. Glover isn't a particularly interesting actor. Even if they did make Spider-Man black I hope they'd try harder then him.

Wow I totally blocked out that he was in that, and the only thing that kept springing to mind was Percy Jackson. I'm cool with him getting the role now.

I can't tell these actors apart anymore its like there is some generic young white actor factory churning out the same looking person according to some sexual fantasy algorithm. I guess as long as its not emo spidey it don't matter.

Guys Gustin likely has a iron-clad contract for Flash for multiple seasons. He isn't in a position to get out of that since he is the lead, without him there is no show. CW would never release him from that contract. The show is one of the biggest hits on the network.

Gustin is just as likely as Ben Affleck to play Spider-Man, both are locked into contracts as super heroes already.

I've seen that too, and it's hard to see the timing as coincidence, but at the same time, why would Simmons at all be privy to those conversations?

This is just my anecdotal BS, but I actually skipped out on seeing the Spidey reboot because JK Simmons wasn't in it. It just spoke to the production that he wasn't there. Me being biased, prejudiced, whatever, that's what my thinking was on it.

I can't be the only one. He meant a LOT to the film series, so they've probably been in contact with him.

Dylan is literally Peter Parker.

With the right script full of wise cracking jokes mixed with some seriousness of dealing with being a hero while in his teens, this would be so so perfect.
