bamboo is a new backplate for your phone and will not protect anything, so yes you need the cover aswell, but i wonder if the bamboo will change the dimensions of the phone to maybe make it not fit a tight cover.

oh i know
i just had a weird internal dichotomy where i was going to order either the case or the cover haha
and apparently it does change the dimensions just a bit

Having problems with mine, whenever I call anybody they say it sounds like I am underwater. Have spoken to customer services who have sent me a zip file, they say to extract it and do as it says but it will delete everything. They say it COULD fix the issue.

I was hoping they may have something a little more definitive.

May be in the market for a new phone. My current phone is great, but I have starting running into apps that are not compatible with it.

How would I get my hands on one? OP doesn't really say.

If you do not have an invite, you have to wait till Tuesdays then you can buy them on their website. If can get an invite then you can use that to buy one anytime.

If you're uncomfortable flashing it, this phone's best features are unavailable to you.

at this point, i think i would wait for the one plus two if you're in no real hurry.

Get an invite from somebody, or wait until Tuesday, where they will do open preorders on their website.

Or like Coolio said, wait until they release a One Plus Two. Even if you think its too expensive, or you don't want it for any other reason, it will likely force OnePlus to drop the price on the One Plus One.

I don't think that's likely. The OP Two might just be more expensive, a la Nexus pricing.

That was annoying and an anomaly. Google doesn't even try to pretend that they're selling a Nexus 5 anymore though.

OnePlus will likely still try to sell the OnePlus One for a given time.

Awesome my Volume Up button doesn't work anymore and OnePlus wants 131€ for repair.
I guess this will be a lesson to me, to never buy anything expensive outside Europe, the "warranty culture" like we have in germany just isn't there.

Jesus, that is rediculous! Any local shops able to have a look at it?

Oh there are plenty but I highly doubt those can replace a super tiny component which is surface mounted on fragile flex cable.

Stuff like this is what made me afraid of this purchase.

I did it anyway.

I will never learn.

Pray for Blablurn.

Hopefully my device is alright.

Unfortunately i don't see anywhere to buy spare one plus one volume flex cables.
You could try to go to a local repair shop, most android phones use the same kind of flex cable for their volume buttons and usually they have the same pin-out(maybe it will have to be adjusted length wise)

Maybe you just have to take it apart and rinse the button to make it work, or maybe the cable is loose

The more I read their forums the more I regret buying one haha. I pray that I will have a working device.

Like all forums for electronics will always be full with unsatisfied customers.. people who don't have problems will usually not visit a forum after they bought the item.

But yes normal brands can be repaired much easier and will have spare parts available everywhere.. but i don't think the oneplus one has a much higher failure rate than so many other brands

I guess you're right. I know two people who have one and they never complained. Maybe I'm just worrying too much.

going to say my phone is as up to date as it can be and it lasts all day no problem.....if I leave it in standby I think by the time night comes its at like 60-70%

and thats because I have background apps running such as bleacher report and nba gametime....which deliver the exact same news anyways lol.

So, will the Lollipop OTA update be coming out in waves, or will everyone get it sometime this week?

It fucking better be sometime in this week, the 30th is right around the corner

Has there been a hardware update to this phone yet? I feel like everyone was praising how fast and great and cheap it was a year ago and now it's still around and coveted, but phones age so fast. Not that a prior gen is suddenly bad, just that I'm surprised excitement is lasting.

No. It's the same device as when it launched.

Ouch! The battery is working great for me, so it may only affect a few phones. Are you having any issues with yours?

I had issues with mine.... it was turning off but showing 20% battery. I downloaded a battery calibrator app and it seemed to do the trick... but battery has definitely been wonky after the last update.

Anyone know where I can find legitimate One Plus One bamboo covers? Or invite? My girlfriend tried looking when she went to China a couple of months ago and had no luck.... hardly anyone had even heard about the phone lol (she's from X'ian)

My phone has randomly started not having Google Play services eat tons of battery starting yesterday, after it was affecting me for almost a week. Maybe Google fixed things on their end?

I've owned the OnePlus for over 4 months now. Everything smooth sailing, and I am a heavy phone user. Only phone that survives the whole day with me :p! Added a good double case since I am an idiot with phones. Top notch speed, battery is perfect, no complaints. Hope it stays like that

Half of that forum are bunch of trolls. I have the best Android experience on the OnePlus and only thing that keep me on Android. I am not saying they are great as far as customers service but put thing in perspective you are essentially paying less than half of the cost of flagship phone and one third the price of iPhone 6 why would you go in with expectation that you would get that type of customers service.

I was expecting the delay on their Oxyg n OS but CM12 are running fine from what I read I don't see reason for that to be delayed.

I got my bamboo cover from fellow Gaffer giving me an invite. Pretty dumb that you need invite for that. I saw some on eBay but price is quite inflated.
