I pity the voice actors that will have to record all those lines again :p

Ahhh sometimes I remember I still gotta play this game...

Now I fear that they might cut out like half of those lines just to speed up localization, hmm...

Good to know

Being a level higher guaranteed a win in Xenoblade

I can't speak for this game because I haven't played it but that's not the total case with the first one. They are a few lower level enemies that attack in groups and can easily kill you and your party if you don't take them seriously. They're were times were I had to kill a few than retreat to fully recover to kill the rest.

Well that's the case I fond with the first Xenoblade.

Its been a while since I played he first but I wouldn't doubt you

Single non story boss monsters should've been easy to kill if you're at level or higher iirc

With this and that last "direct" I completely believe we'll get this game late june/july. Why would they show us gameplay footage at that direct with it being so far away? Why are they teasing us now!? It's gotta be coming soon. I even question if they'll give use all the field/battle/skell directs before we get the game since they already showed us live gameplay footage lightly explaining things. It's coming. Just watch.
Please :/

Yes I found that the case. Even if I was under level I was always able to pull out a vitory.

The only boss I struggled with badly was
Xord
, it was because I didn't fully understand the combat and how to utilize the chain attacks at the time.

As for this game, I need it. I'm hoping spoilers stay out of this thread just so I can keep reading impressions, see screen shots, avatar shots, and other little tibits.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Man the dumbfucks at Amazon had my set shipped out so it arrives tomorrow for whatever reason. So the package is currently sitting around in the Tokyo, Kuroneko center due to the idiots at Amazon specifying delivery on the 30th.

YES! My copy has arrived. Thankfully it came before noon, which I had been hoping but wasn't sure since my last few amazon packages that I picked for release day shipping didn't come until like 6pm. Guess I lucked out. I like Amazon but I miss the way it was about two years ago where every preorder came on release day no matter what and was super fast. Wish those days were back.

Anyway after a quick lunch, it will be time to jump into the game fully! Im excited!

Just picked up my copy this morning, and I'm already in love. Traversal is so much fun with a fast run and a crazy high floaty jump. Just got to NLA.

Are there any shots of the skill tree? If there is one that is.

There's a class tree, and then skills work like xenoblade 1 within each class.

can you list all the things X improves upon XB?

in particular: quest system, battles

Are the side quests more fleshed out this time around?

In the first game the background story was so superficial i just ended up hitting the A button as fast as possible to skip the text. And in the end the most of them amounted to kill/collect x amount of something.

It's better to have less but more involving ones than hundreds of shallow repetitive works.

Err no. Any of the good quests that fleshed out the backstory in the game were locked behind the " KIll x for me instead of grinding on enemies" type quests

The xord quests are one example, the telethia invasion of colony 6 is another

Most important beginner's tip IMO: Talk to the female BLADE next to the quest board to upgrade your field skill when your BLADE level levels up, Make sure you upgrade the mechanic first(the first one), since it affect your ability of placing data probes.

Literally everything

Questing completion, story relevance of quests, armor system combat flow/speed, player character ai ( soul voice system is tight), traversal, adding mechs, adding insurance, even better hub town ect.

Story is more my bag too tbh.

It'd be hard to get the skill stuff on one screenshot because what skills you can use is dependant on what class you are. You just get them at a set rank in that class.

Finishing up for the day now, took an amazing 10 hours just to get to Chapter 4 because I was so busy wandering around the first area feeling overwhelmed at the sheer size of it and trying to take in all the game's various systems. It's kind of scary just how much there is to take in at first. The segment map on the gamepad is a godsend when it comes to making the world's size somewhat manageable. Just as well you don't have to fill in the map yourself this time.

This is the kind of game I would like to play and get into, unfortunately I don't want to buy a Wii U because this would be the only game I have.

i haven't yet unlocked quests.

Battles seem smoother, and every character has two weapons (melee and ranged) that you can switch between. The player starts in the drifter class which is assault rifle and knife. All the other classes branch out from there. I'm still not sure which class I'm going to choose.

Some skills require specific weapons, and you'll autochange to the required weapon when activated. The battle UI also tells you your relative position to the enemy (eg. Side/ranged), which I'm sure will come into play later.

Treasure boxes (which appear as all kinds of things, from wreckage to life pods to alien biological...things) align to a type of skill (mechanical, biological, etc.) and a skill level. I assume opening boxes will raise level, but there are already boxes in NLA above my level.

Oh, that's good to know!

Monolith Soft is really great with their usage of orange and reds in skies for sunsets. Nintendo EAD seems to be best with pinks and purples for their skies during sunsets.

I just really love sunsets in games and movies.

So is everyone enjoying the game so far?

I was watching that stream with the sure translating everything...I really hope we don't have to wait too long for this game to come to the west.
