MGS: Ground Zeroes to Phantom Pain Save Transfer

Anybody have a screenshot of the Solid Snake suit? Curious to see what it looks like before I spend the GMP (not like money is any object in this game). Also it looks like the Snake suit is non-upgradeable, in contrast to the standard suit that has multiple upgrade tiers?

It's just the MGS1 skin.

Yes, you can't upgrade it and it ruins immersion in cutscenes, but c'mon.. just look at it! Sogood.gif

Literally the same one from GZ Deja Vú. Or alternatively just look at Metal Gear Solid on PS1.

Do they show up right away after the transfer, or does the game inform you they're joining later on? I got Kojima and a few random soldiers right away after transferring, but those two were nowhere to be seen in the recruits list. And I know for certain that I extracted both of them... I have the achievement for it.

I was wondering the same. I definitely extracted The Eye and The Finger (plus others), I've downloaded my save, but not seeing them on my list.

It works ! However, what eactly is Motherbase staff 1 ?

How is it different from the transfer of the GZ save ?

The Staff is probably specialists for your base. The transfer file brings over any prisoners or soldiers you captured, outfits from the Deja Vu side missions, etc.

I bought the PSN-version of GZ, so I didn't get a DLC Code. Is it automatically available then (no need to enter a code) or not at all for the download versions?

Do we know what the golden arm is for? I think I have it (at work right now so I can't check), but I haven't downloaded my GZ save into TPP yet.

Edit: Checked, and I don't have the gold arm yet. If only Konami could get the servers working so I could download my save.

Man, S-ranking Jamais Vu on hard kicked my ass. Only one in the game I really had trouble with. Wanted to start TPP last night but also wanted to get that out of the way first.

how do you guyse import your save in pp? my game is in offline mode because of the servers and because of this i can´t import the save

I'm sure this has been asked but can I just get a PC save from the web and use it instead? I played through GZ on the ps4 but have tpp on PC along with a PC version of GZ, just don't want to have to replay GZ again for the unlocks

Really? I thought that was one of the easiest because there's only one part you really have to worry about sneaking around. Guess it just depends on your strategy.

I found the AA mission to be by far the hardest on hard. The alert stage they automatically go to results in a lot of AI behaviour that's really hard to predict.

Alright, so I've looked up the Key Items section. The only way Cyborg Ninja unlocks is if you obtain the Master Certificate (Standard) key item, which is given by completing all main missions. Conversely, you can only get Raiden by obtaining the Grand Master Certificate (Standard) (which is given by S-ranking all main missions).

There's nothing I can find in the guide that states these carry over from GZ. I also haven't found anything on a Camp Omega mission.

If you imported a 100% file is the Sneak-suit suppose to cost 40000 GMP? Also, I did not get the golden arm. If you got this where was it in the inventory?

Do you have to get all the POWs/soldiers on a single run through each mission, or can you get them all separately? That's the only thing I was concerned about. I'm certain I got them all at different points, but I don't really want to go through the hassle of getting them all again just to be sure.

Does TPP tell you straight away "You transferred 19 recruits from GZ" or something?

S rank all story missions or side missions?

Story missions.

Reading up here, you can get the Bionic Arm (Silver) upgrade by completing all high-level mission variants (Subsistence, Stealth, Extreme) with any rank, which gives you the Master Certificate (Elite) item.

I've seen that a few people have been able to connect to the servers on PC and PS4 but I've seen nothing about Xbox. I'm on Xbox One and haven't been able to connect to the server at all. It just keep giving me the 'down for maintenance' message.

Has anyone on xbox been able to connect at all?

As far as I can tell, no.

Konami considers gamers on Xbox second class citizens apparently.

Jerks.

I feel played like a damn fiddle...

Yeah, I had trouble not getting detected at the very end. I had a much easier time when I found out there were a couple guns with suppressors in that one armory in the admin area. Before that I'd always get detected if/when I missed a few guys from that last rush before the final helicopter.

I didn't have much trouble with the AA one because the prisoners take a bit of the edge off the score. I put C4 on the first one, brought the prisoners over to the cave LZ, then sniped the two barrels in the helipad area. Thankfully blowing one of the AAs redirects the focus of the enemy AI to that area, so that makes it a bit easier to move around.

It did give me a headache a bit at first, though.

The golden arm appeared available after completing an early story mission. Maybe the fifth or sixth (I can't remember). You'll know which one when you get to it.

I still haven't finished GZ, and I'll likely not play to 100% before moving onto TPP. I don't know whether to just download a 100% save (PC), because it feels like cheating. I have all the prisoners (or I will do when I play it next) but now I'm reading about golden arms and it's thrown me off.

Guide me, GAF

It is a bit of a mess, but nothing can be worse than the MGO/Konami ID clusterfuck.

At least I hope not. I guess we'll see in October...

Well, finally connected and only the sneaking suit has unlocked...no staff either

Bit annoying considering i 100% GZ with all S-ranks, even on Hard mode and rescued every single NPC I should have. =/

I just got them to show up after mission 6. It'd be nice if the game gave you an indication they were coming earlier, even if they remained locked.

Still waiting for somebody to be able to conclusively say what accomplishments in GZ will unlock what in TPP. There are some PC save files posted by fellow GAFers here. Do they unlock everything that is meant to be unlocked from GZ to TPP ? Or are there still stuff we don't know from GZ that will unlock other content in TPP ?

All the soldiers/prisoners that you exflitrated, golden arm, Solid Snake PS1 sneaking suit, and Sneaking Suit from GZ. They don't unlock at the beginning, you'll have to do about 12 missions or so. Or at least that's how many I had to do.

That file that the one fella posted that confirmed that extracted all the guys with is the one I used and have everything unlocked.
I screenshotted a few of them when they unlocked so extrapolate from this as you will.

Where the file? and do I need to own gz for it to work? I'm about to buy GZ just to do this.

The strategy guide (which I have in front of me) doesn't say anything about a Camp Omega revisit, so that seems to be off the table unless it's unlocked later.

Gray Fox and Raiden have to be unlocked by obtaining a pair of key items (Master Certificates) in-game. They can't be unlocked by transferring a savefile.

The 19 POWs/unique characters, Solid Snake suit, MSF Sneaking Suit and gold arm all transfer over. Only the Solid Snake suit requires a savefile with the Deja Vu mission completed. The rest only require completing the Ground Zeroes mission (or rescuing the appropriate characters in each Main/Side-Op).

The guide says nothing about any GZ cassette tapes transferring over.

The OP hasn't been updated with this information, so consider my post a definitive listing of what's available.
