Wait, all the balance changes Bungie did to PRs and ARs were less than 1%. They updated the patch note page.

Small increase to base damage
Low RoF (Suros Regime, An Answering Chord): 0.3% increase from previous base damage
Med RoF (Zhalo Supercell, Paleocontact JPK-43): 0.7% increase from previous base damage
High RoF (Arminius-D, Necrochasm): 0.04% increase from previous base damage

HAHAHAHAHAHA

holy fucking shit

what the ever loving fuck

hahahahahahah

oh my god

Coding is hard. That is true. Bungie is just incompetent tho. .04%? That's literally nothing, you'd need to shoot 400 bullets to notice a difference.

They're doing what every company has done since the start of time when they believe they've got a dominant position. Take the piss out of there customers as they think whatever they throw at us we'll swallow

Edit Auto Rifle buff is in https://twitter.com/sharkeatsman/status/674704401785708544 :D I said earlier nothing feels overtly different, we'll see what the numbers say

This tweet is case & point why we get frustrated.

Whoa is it just me, or did they edit the 2.1 Patch notes blog post:

As it states as of 3:58pm central on 12/9
Auto Rifles
Small increase to base damage
Low RoF (Suros Regime, An Answering Chord): 0.3% increase from previous base damage
Med RoF (Zhalo Supercell, Paleocontact JPK-43): 0.7% increase from previous base damage
High RoF (Arminius-D, Necrochasm): 0.04% increase from previous base damage

I'm almost certain those numbers originally were posted as 3%, 7%, and 4% respectively.

edit: holy shit beaten. Literally had not seen the posts above.

Now that we know who has the better pink sparrow, we can race for fun. :p

So my dog learned how to open doors. That ferret was in my brother's room and this damn dog somehow opened the door.

This was my biggest problem with Destiny. Time-gated events and quests had made me feel compelled to log on and invest time into game; time that I didn't really have that day or evening. Destiny basically began dictating what I would do and when I would do it.

That's not okay.

Bungie's promise to make this game more schedule friendly was complete bullshit. They made it worse, if anything.

Needless to say I have quit Destiny. The sparrow stuff looks cool, but it's just another timed event. I had a lot of fun with DGAF. Stay strong peeps.

I thought Y2 was a step in the right direction in terms of respecting player time (accept the weird one off days to get exotics). It used to be (assuming you were running alts) 3 NFs, 3 VoG runs (for the exotic chests and Atheon kill), 3 Crota (for exotic Ir Yurt and Crota) and then multiple runs of PoE...all because you were hoping for that one lucky drop... (G-horn...or whatever else you were looking for). This was OPPRESSIVE.

Now, for most exotics you have a way forward and can do SOMETHING to move the ball every time you log on. You may have to wait...but you can still predict how much time it will take.

In year 1, you could have had Gally drop in a random NF in October....or chased it for an entire year. That is disrespecting time...Thank Gawd Bungie has moved away from that.

Well this makes the nerf to Lyudmila look even weirder. What we thought was supposed to be a 9% nerf should have been a .9% nerf; but is ACTUALLY a 19% nerf.

What in the actual fuck

I'm laughing so hard at work right now. A .04% change hahaha, they are going to get outed so fast and it is going to be incredible embarrasing. Especially with their TTK plot for Pulse Rifles.

See, this is actually something I thing should be mentioned on the gaming side. Because the absolute atrocity of communication a this point is actually discussion worthy.

The Cryptarch's Bane
A 0.04% damage increase is rather deeply meaningless. Less than one half of one tenth of one percent.

What happened here is certainly one of the deeper mysteries of our age.

I'm a pretty rational and laid back dude. But I honestly think this is a complete farce. The blog post/patch notes makes no sense in the context of buffs as small as 0.3%. It literally isn't even affecting the post patch damage numbers.

I absolutely think the original patch notes reflected what was intended, and they're editing them on the fly as they figure out what the changes actually were.

The best part is that two archetypes are off by a decimal place but the high ROF is off by two decimal places. They couldn't have literally made that mistake it's incomprehensible. They would of tested it at least. This has to have been on purpose, last minute change of heart.

Which has no quantifiable number in game.

If the auto rifle in game is shooting a bullet that does 12dmg (18dmg crit), then a .04% change is still a 12dmg (18dmg crit) bullet.

Pulse Rifles
Reduced base damage
Low RoF (The Messenger, Spare Change): 0.9% reduction from previous base damage
Med RoF (Hawksaw, No Time To Explain, Red Death): 0.9% reduction from previous base damage
High RoF (Bad Juju): 0.9% reduction from previous base damage
Highest RoF (Grasp of Marok): 0.97% reduction from previous base damage
Reduced damage falloff to start between Auto Rifle and Hand Cannon ranges
A low range Pulse Rifle will have shorter damage falloff than an average Hand Cannon
A high range Pulse Rifle will have farther damage falloff than an average Hand Cannon
Increased base damage against AI combatants by roughly 5%

I love that this last line is STILL in there, which makes absolutely no sense in the context of the new nerf numbers.

There is no way in hell these were the intended changes. The numbers are so low they are not reflected at all. Any claims otherwise are downright lies. Bungie needs to say, "we dun fucked up, but we will push a patch out to fix it on Friday."

There is nothing wrong with making small changes but you can't make changes that don't have any effect at a rate or 4 times a year.

Who wants to create a gif of the edit.

We waited months for this weapons balance. You cannot defend this. Uncharted beta has been out for a week and has received more game balances in one week than destiny in one year.
