The more I help people with the first boss, the more I love the music

It's just

better every time

Are you playing alone or with summoned bros?

It's loading, or at least thinks it's loading, the outside area. Bug, most likely.

Summoned bros.

uuurgh..

Anyone know how to shift a DS3 install between PCs?

I don't have an optical drive on my gaming rig, so I installed it on my laptop and then moved the files over, but it keeps wanting to download everything from scratch..

EDIT: Nvm, forgot to transfer the manifest file. my bad.

Should just need to copy the folder on host PC, paste in the Steamapps folder of the destination PC, and when you "install" it'll discover the files.

Yeah, well, better get used to it I think lol. I helped around 5-6 guys run around the high wall area and pretty sure every single one got invaded at some point. With two summoned helpers, the invaders shouldn't really be hard though, so I guess there's at least that.

Cause jolly cooperation is fucking fun!

Any good tips for greatswords in the beginning? I'm literally in the second area and
I'm playing with the Deep Battle Axe the mimick dropped below the dragon, now I'm off to fight the Watchdog. I'm a pure STR build, should I do this watchdog with the deep battle axe or is there something better around?

Anyone who ordered from GAME UK got their copy yet? I got the dispatch email on Thursday afternoon but still no sign of it yet :/ Royal Mail first class so I can't track it either

There's a claymore in the area the Dragon is breathing fire over.

Lol I was looking for a stone or gun that sends invaders back to their world. Keep forgetting this is not bloodborne :p

This is so much better than Bloodborne it's unreal. Starting with Dark Souls 1, then proceeding to play DS2, Bloodborne, and Demon's Souls, in that order: this is the most fun I've had with the franchise since the first Dark Souls. Actually more-so.

Is there a good spot to grind for souls early on?
I want to get rid of my hollowing with the Firekeeper and it's going to set me back 32,000.

gameplaywise, yes, it feels amazing.
but damn I miss bloodbornes art design, that was incredible. DS3 is nowhere on that level.

man all this fog and particle effects in the air sure make the game look pretty

rofl that scared the shit out of me the first time it happened. Although in my defense it was 1am!

dude its 11am and it scared me and now im terrified of normal enemies because I dont know how common that is, great >_>

It is miles better than the original for me. I love that game for its lore and music, as well as visual direction, but the game is not fun at all. Dreadful level design. Dark Souls III, on the other hand, is delivering on what I liked about both Dark Souls games.

Anyways, the game is running better now, for whatever reason? I was getting 40~50fps, but now it goes up to 60 most of the time. Yay... but my processor's fans is spinning like crazy, which doesn't happen often. That is slightly worrying.

Played it a little bit on PC before some pesky and recurrent crash kicked me away. Loved every single second. Breathtaking panoramas, top-notch level design and the combat feels great with the new battle arts moves and mob more agressives than ever.

I can't wait to play more than a few hours.

(NPC QUEST SPOILERS)
I would not do that, you will be locked out of an npc questline, which also sells an item to actually remove the hollowing stat. What the firekeeper does is remove your dark sigils.Hollowing, as far as I know dosn't have any gameplay effects.

DS3 is nowhere on that level.

It's just different. The art design is superb on both, you just prefer Bloodborne's. Also, BB purposely limits itself which makes it more consistent whereas DS3 has to accomplish a wider variety of environments.

So... my friend surprised me out of nowhere. Time for DS3?

Sorry, I'm just hyped because I wasn't planning on getting it any time soon. Funds and stuff.

You have an awesome friend! Enjoy the game. :)

How long should a summon sign take to appear for co-op between two people at the same level with the same level gear, while using a password?

It took over five minutes at times.

Any tips on which class should I make if I never played another Dark Souls games?

Pyromancer was a good start in previous games, as it has spells but they are scaled based on levelling up a piece of equipment rather than levelling up spell stats, so you can use it in a Jack of All Trades sort of approach.

There are also less total flasks in the game than DS1.

Pyromancy scales on Intelligence and Faith now.

I prefer Bloodborne's setting and art direction. DS3 oftentimes reflects Bloodborne in its art style, particularly in enemies. However, since I'm playing on PC, DS3 is way more pleasing to look at. I want to say that's due to the framerate more than anything.

Does anything have instant parry or is it all shitty Dark Souls 2 startup frames parry now? I'm getting the game soon but I wanna know.

Still waiting on my amazon uk copy... The parcel status hasn't updated since 3am yesterday, and royal mail doesn't recognise the tracking number either. Everything else I've preordered from amazon arrived on release day, so I'm hopeful this will too.

I would suggest one with a shield, a long sword and good starting armour: Knight.

Take in mind that the starting class only affect your starting stats and equipment, from there you can build your hero as it pleases you.

Yuria already showed up. I guess you mean Purging Stones? Aren't they temporary and you will continue to hollow if you die? Kinda wanna get rid of it permanently.

Any tips for (early boss)
Curse-Rotted Greatwood
?

Had the game a while, but not in the best of moods to be playing a souls game. Going to crack on today to play with the pack!

Does cursing even do anything in this game? Been cursed twice during about 16 hours of play and it doesn't seem to have an effect.

Just stay backed off. When the poison sap is on the floor, don't even bother going in. You should be able to roll through any sweeping arm attacks in the first phase. Just watch your stamina. Don't bother with adds as they get killed by the boss.

In the second phase, really keep your distance.

The two main attacks to watch out for are...

1. It'll try to grab you with its blue hand slowly, leaving the hand open to attack but this is actually bait so when you go for the attack, it smacks you with its branch arm.

2. It'll stand up and run a bit, try to get on the TREE'S LEFT SIDE and when it falls on its face, its arm will be open for some heavy damage.

Other than that, take your time and keep circling.
