These DICE guys are the most unprofessional bunch of fucking idiots I have seen. First publicly calling out CoD devs amateurs and incompetent and then accusing Microsoft of being MoneySoft.

Grow up.

I think it's just about time someone had a meeting DICE about how to conduct themselves on social media. And reiterate what you say there stays on the internet forever

To be fair, we have no way of telling if that image is real or not. I checked a few seconds after that post appeared here and the tweet was nowhere to be seen.

For that reason, my pre-order is safe for now.

Edit: nevermind it looks real.

Why do people still say this stuff. Never learned about WW1 in school?
Trenchwarfare was only on the frontline in Europe.

In my school, WWI wasn't covered nearly as exhaustively as WWII, so we were just taught about trench warfare as far as WWI combat went. US school btw.

It's a childish/immature thing to say coming from someone who represents a multi-million dollar company.

I think the people saying "I won't buy the game because of this" are just joking, though.

Actually, whats funnier is that EA/Dice gave that artwork to Microsoft and also asked them to advertise their reveal.

So it was probably never an error in the first place. Its probably exactly what EA/Dice asked for.

It's good that you take the high road and don't belittle an entire company because of the actions of a few.

oh wait

This looks like it could be good. I haven't played any Battlefield since 3, but if the art is handled well I could see myself playing this. It'll probably be much faster-paced than Red Orchestra/Rising Storm, though, with tons of semi-auto and fully-auto weapons instead of bolt actions, which is a potential turn-off for me.

If we get a full-out WW1 shooter that plays very quickly, I probably won't buy it and stick to Rising Storm 2/whatever tactical shooter I'm playing at the time.

On the other hand, if it's alternate history and the setting justifies the fast gameplay, I think I'd bite.

Ugh. I just want a modern Great War(s) shooter!

So hyped, really glad a shooter finally tackles WWI!

I haven't played it yet, but Verdun on PC is a WW1 shooter.

The guy works at EA, not DICE specifically

lol @ your overreaction calling a whole company "unprofessional fucking idiots" because of one admitedly stupid and unnesscary tweet

Lol at all those quotes. Yeah I would like another bf3 (yes 3) much more than some ww1/ww2 stuff. Especially the ww2 stuff has gone too long back in the days. maybe most people here forgot that or are to young and the first medal of Honor they played was the reboot.

If BF5 is getting this way it likely seems to go than no thanks. I will pass.

So in a market over saturated with modern military shooters with its aim set on futuristic military shooters, going back to the past wouldn't be something fresh?

You make it sound like there's a plethora of recent AAA WW2/WW1 shooters.

There is nothing obvious about it being alternative ww1.
Maybe not, but I've never seen a guy with a cape going at it on the battlefields during WW1. He doesn't even wear a helmet. Oh well, I guess we'll see, but I have a bad feeling about this. Hope I'm wrong, though.

It's obviously WW1 IMO. Alternate or no, hard to say. But gameplay-wise, alternate makes a lot of sense. But him standing there with a Not-Mauser and trench club doesn't scream alternate, those are very timely and limited weapons (but I'm sure we'll have OHKO melees regardless).

Some really ignorant motherfuckers up in this thread.

Some of you really need to look into the eastern front and ottoman front of WW1.

Not to mention they could have early western front battles in Belgium, or do set piece maps of stuff like the Marne, Verdun, etc.

The war was not a bunch of soldiers sitting in a trench for 4 years sipping tea.

Alternate story WW1 is more interesting than vanilla WW1. Curious to see how they are handling it and the chances vs regular WW1.

That dude looks stlyish, but in a good way.

What a predicament. That visual identity they've established with the blues and reds and sparks and smoke. It's so very "modern" and doesn't go with oldey times at all, but they have to keep doing it, cause that's the brand.

Wonder what role zeppelins will play, the B17 role, or more like carriers.
