Saving the world is par for the course though.
Not special at all. I've saved the world, defeated countless elite fours/champions, and even captured legendary pokemon with basic pokeballs in countless pokemon games :^)

Don't like the recent defenders. So annoying. Anyway, looks we got another Color Splash/Federation Force scenario here. I personally will skip this, but I can't imagine how many fans will be ripping their hair out while watching it. I feel for you guys.

you do realize that there are many pokemon manga right? there is no "pokemon manga", and the actual manga named solely as pocket monsters is the one with a loud-mouth, hilarious clefairy; you're thinking of pocket monsters special/pokemon adventures which itself have different "continuities" unless it's convenient to them

I understand people that do not appreciate or like the new artsyle, but some people push it a little too far by trying to find frames where Ash looks like an idiot.
As for me, I sceptical. But, i always give a chance to a new season of Pokemon.
In game that was done by several different kids, ash hasn't won a league, but he has saved the world multiple times, kids in the games have done it only once each (hell, some haven't, not all generations have world ending dangers), cut Ash some slack.

1) Zard's face looks off to me.
2) Error: Zard's yellow belly is supposed to extend to both his legs. Here it only does that on the right side.
3) The bottom half of this harness is straight out of shitty zard bondage porn wtf. I'd have to check again but I don't remember the games having that slutty-ass split.
As a Charizard fan, I'm really triggered man.

Other than that I think the animation's solid to great.
Looks like a pretty big departure in terms of art style. I can see why other people prefer the more... "sharper?" art style of XYZ, but the rounder look here has its own appeal (though Ash seemingly looks younger here than he did in XYZ).
Also, on the poster, Team Rocket has a Mimikyu, so that's good enough for me.

Jesus you people are still watching this show? I haven't watched the anime regularly since Gen 3. Most people I know haven't seen it since Gen 2. And Ash still hasn't won the league yet? What's the point of watching this show anymore?

Wait, is that animation actually from the Super series? I kept hearing that the animation was terrible, but that looked pretty good.
I like the pokemon anime animation, at the very least it has intrigued me enough to check out a few episodes. I haven't watched since Team Rocket first got Wobbuffet. I love the fact that they have a mimikyu.

I was watching until now, but not anymore after how they bungled the end of X&Y and with Sun and moon looking to be even worst then Best Wish's ever was which is saying something.
X&Y was Amazing right up until the end. Had some really really good battles which has always been the highlight of the series for me. Everything was pointing to Ash finally winning the league but the executives decided to step in at the last minute and wrecked everything.
So seeing as they have now completely ruined the Pokemon anime for me I hereby reject the ending of XY&Z and substitute it with my own better one, the way it was meant to be
In my ending Ash beat Alain with that super water shuriken and became Champion of the Kalos league.
Ash had a bigger role saving the world thus actually fulfilling the prophecy instead of the garbage ending to the Team flare arc we got.
The rest of September until mid November would dedicated to an elite 4 arc where Ash calls his reserves. This is where everything from the past regions comes into play as a bunch of his all stars get one last moment to shine before he finally takes down Diantha.
In the last episode Ash finally clues into Serena liking him and starts going out with her.
The protagonist in Sun and Moon isn't the Ash we know but his son Ash Jr with his own Pikachu, that's why he looks younger and is going to school

Ash doesn't look anything like I'm accustomed to, but the monsters themselves look great.
Super has some of the best scenes in all of Dragon Ball and this is one of them.

Yeah, it sucks that Nintendo stopped making traditional Pokemon games.
I'd even take a remake of an older game at this point.

For a franchise worth more than 99% of Japanese franchises combined, them spending so little time on the Pokemon story/animation is a travesty. Having it done by Bones or any number of other studios would be great, but nope.

Because some people enjoy watching the animé and they have every right to do so.
You can try and deny it all you want but the truth of the matter is;
Ash lost the Kalos league and did not progress any further, didn't cotton to Serena liking him and heads off to Alola to go to school.
All that stuff you wrote is just nonsense and was never going to happen which is why I bailed out on the animé as I knew that there would be no pay off at the end and that the whole dumb Serena X Ash shipping thing was pointless.
Plus The Kalos animé was just flat out boring to watch.

Plus animation is expensive so keeping it simple is effective in keeping the cost down.
Out of curiosity where you watching the dub or the sub? I ask because it makes a big difference since the sub strips out a lot of the music ruining the mood.
I can see why people would be board by the average filler episode where barely anything happens. Team Ash does a thing, meets a new Pokemon of the day, fights off Team rocket, the end. I got board of those episodes long ago myself and skipped over most of them.
But the rest when it's actually focused on the plot was pretty good and the gym battles where amazing!
