Would there be a problem with having exactly the same camera as on the normal version of the game, and providing a motion sickness warning?
I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to pass through TRC with that camera. Sony is strict about motion sickness. And our 2D camera is really bad for VR. Robot rescue has constant velocity camera, we couldn't make similar because of variable speed of Princess. It's instant puke. Have you check on Jim Sterling's review of "Hear They Lie"? This is the other reaction for those who are sensitive .
In your opinion....
I already have Bound, and PSVR. Should I wait until my Pro comes in to start it? Is the jump going to be worth me waiting to play for the first time?
Unfortunately you have to pass the comfort test which is not only the framerate, but also general user experience, I'm afraid that the camera wouldn't pass the test. It's part of the TRC.
Go ahead! You can play the game on PRO in different order and it will look and sound differently based on the order of the chapters you will select (there are 120 combinations).
On PRO there's also additional volumetric lighting added, it's up to you . I think it would be a good thing to play now and then compare with PRO version and write about it from player perspective, because we are so much biased already that it doesn't make sense to say anything .
What's the difference between the 2 camera modes in VR? Which do you guys prefer?
I bought the game today. Played about half an hour and really enjoying it so far. It's very lovely in VR.
Just beat the game. I wish the story wasn't quite as abstract. I didn't have any idea where it was going until the last couple levels. I think I preferred (putting in spoiler tags just to be safe)Papo & Yo more than Bound which I feel are comparable because of the similar stories they tell. Bound is the better game gameplay and artistic wise, but Papo & Yo was upfront on the story it was telling and left a bigger impact for me. With no facial expressions of the character you play as and only still shots of your memories, it just didn't click with me much.
For those who haven't tried yet, Bound is now 40% off (50% for PLUS members) in US due to Black Friday:

I still need to play this, I bought it at launch to support the project but I haven't had time yet.
Will probably play it straight using the VR mode, hopefully before the end of the year.
Picked this game up 2 days before the sale d'oh! But I am enjoying it nonetheless. Beautiful game, playing thru in VR for first go around with the Pro. Only feedback would be that I wish I had more camera control in VR, maybe a bit of z control and a camera follow.
It's unfortunately still 19,95 in the EU store. Will there be a black friday discount outside of NA?
The 'dirty filter' gives additional paper look to the visuals . We removed it in VR version since there it seriously looked like your lenses were dirty .
BTW - there's another sale for EU region going on right now:

Well for me that was a Journey like experience. Short, gorgeous, and sad. Absolutely loved it and is only like the second game I took screenshots of.
It's 8 euros to me and we both live in finland me and you.
will there be supersampling on 1080p screens on ps4 pro?

I bought it over the weekend during the Black Friday sale. Planning to play it after the next patch with the new PSVR camera options.i finished bound on psvr this weekend and absolutely was floored by it. it was like going into the dream of a graphics design genius. def one of my faves of the year and i'll buy whatever plastic does next without a second thought
No.
Robot Rescue is whimsical and fun and you actually do something. Platforming plus collection coins, rescuing robots.
Bound has you walking and flicking a stick to get the camera just perfect before you have to flick it again 3 seconds later. You don't do anything but walk and roll around if you see some harmful pixels up ahead. I guess picking up the cubes is comparable to picking up coins but you don't have to go out of your way to get them. They are literally on path you have to walk.
I appreciate Bound's art style and it being a 3rd person game in VR but the game is pretty terrible. It's message or subtext is constantly beating you over the head with those Child's room interludes (which look incredible in VR by the way). If the game had more to do it would be a lot better but I don't think that's what was intended here..I think it was meant to be a walking modern art project.
- The camera is a chore. I know they are working on this, and I'm really looking forward to that update. But man, constantly keeping the camera caught up with the character and all of the blinking gets exhausting. It also recenters every time you move the camera, making it somewhat difficult to naturally follow a character with your head and move the camera (I have to consciously recenter my head before moving the camera).
I can see how people can love this game and I really appreciate what the devs are doing here technically as well as their community involvement, but ultimately this game is not my cup of tea. That said, I am very interested in their future output.
Just finished Bound. I was enthralled the entire time. The themes of each area, the way the story was told, and the music... Absolutely spellbound. Beautiful game.
