It's all contrived numbers, you don't gain access to new areas or anything like that beyond the stations initial reveal.

Aww that sucks, that's exactly what I love about building my ugly shanty towns in Fallout or upgrading vendors in Diablo 3. I totally assumed it was more like seeing your pirate hideout grow in Ass Creed: Black Flag. :\

At least I won't be disappointed in 6 months when I play Andromeda lol

I'll admit that this is one area where they kinda dropped the ball. It would have been really cool to see your progress in helping the settlements in real time as you completed more quests. Instead, you basically only need to activate the monoliths and, voilà, an outpost is essentially teleported in.

Lol, reminds me of the deserted villages you clear in The Witcher 3.

Geralt kills the last drowner in a shocking display of violence, with gore and viscera all over the place, you get a fade out/fade in cutscene of the entire village just walking back into the settlement from who knows where like they'd only been gone for 5 minutes.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
Wait, what? I thought you built up the main colony ship thingie or built it up into a little city based on how well you developed outposts? Didn't Smelly say that?

I said what now?

But seriously, MEA isnt all bad. The gameplay is probably the best in the series. It's definitely less serious and actually rather funny in places, sometimes too forced, sometimes legitimately funny. I dont mind the companions, they grow on you. There's a couple really good ones too, eg Drack who at first is kinda meh but he's probably the best Krogan companion in the series.

Some of the technical design choices are awful, but it's not stopping me from having fun. And I've had very few bugs/glitches on PS4, nothing fun-inhibiting. I'm at like 40h played at least, will do as much as I can and finish it before P5. It's not the best ME game, but also not the worst game ever. It's a fun mass effect game with great gameplay that had some questionable design choices and very lackluster polishing work.

It's certainly not the worst Bioware game
(Dragon Age II, but you probably already knew that)
and as far as Mass Effect goes I like it more than 3 in quite a few ways.

I'll echo this. I'll also add that the Mass Effect series was always greater than the sum of its parts. It tried to blend massive world-building with an immersive narrative and compelling characters in a TPS/RPG hybrid. Did it excel at any of these aspects? Maybe, maybe not, but regardless it was the entire package that basically delivered genuinely great games. However, along the way, both the fans and developers decided that it was the characters that kept people coming back and while there is some truth to that, it seems to me that Bioware went kinda all-in with that approach with ME: A. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, and it's not like they let all other aspects falter as a result, but I would not be surprised if they thought that any shortcomings would be forgiven if they at least delivered on the characters (for the record, I'm mostly talking main character and crewmates).

Well that sucks Fata1, lol.

You'd think that people within the hobby would be pleased that a developer/publisher was acknowledging the critical reaction and issues with their game and setting a firm date for when they'd have more to share on the future road map.

edit: Good grief, that's a tortured sentence.

In terms of awful ME characters, the worstest of all are Jack and Green Guy from ME2.

I hated Jack so much that I purposely sent her to her death in the final mission. I also hated Thane. Actually many of the new characters in ME2 I either hated or was indifferent to.

Mordin was one of the best characters though.

Ryan McDonagh is "day to day" with some undisclosed injury but is "looking good" to play tomorrow. Looks like Jimmy Vesey will sit tomorrow, but AV says he's a lock for the lineup going into the playoffs.

Henrik Lundqvist will play in 4 of the 5 remaining games. He'll sit for one of the back-to-backs next weekend to close out the season.

Are the Rangers in a position to insert Vecchione into the lineup for a game if that's what he's demanding as a condition of signing?

Vecchione is ineligible for the playoffs, at least according to the NY Post, so I think that's a somewhat unlikely option for them at least as far as this year goes, but moving forward it's entirely possible. Much of the Rangers' bottom six will be RFAs this offseason, as will Mika Zibanejad, Tanner Glass will be a UFA, and Michael Grabner is probably the most likely player to go to the Golden Knights if Gorton is able to cut some kind of deal that takes Raanta off the table in one way or another. The Rangers don't have a lot of guys in the system right now who are ready to make the jump to the NHL (as evidenced by the Wolf Pack's position in last place in the AHL), which is why they're jumping on a number of college free agents. We've already signed Vinni Lettieri and Vince Pedrie in the last few days, and Vecchione seems to be a major target for Gorton, so it certainly sounds like they're going to be pretty aggressive in their pitch. This is something that the Rangers have been excellent about over the last several years.

Dallas should change their team name so Minnesota can use North Stars again. Wild is still probably the dumbest fuckin name in sports.

Wouldn't mind seeing this happen, though the "Stars" name is probably important in Dallas too.

Though there is some precedent, with New Orleans rebranding as the Pelicans and Charlotte taking back the Hornets name, switching from the Bobcats (lol). So it's not completely unheard of.

Which team has a much higher need of branding? Dallas. Minnesota could call themselves the Hogs and it wouldn't make a difference there.

Not feeling the game tonight for the Leafs. Got a bad feeling they get smoked in Nashville.

Same, which sucks because they kinda need to get some points out of the next couple games (@Nashville and @Detroit) because after that they have a game in Buffalo which is a loss because it's in Buffalo, then the next day they're home against the Caps (scary) then home against the Lightning which is a winnable game but will be freaking huge because after that it's the Pens and BJs on back to back nights.

If we go into those last 2 games badly needing points it's gonna be tough.

I don't think Buffalo is an auto-loss this time. Buffalo is playing back to back Sunday/Monday so they'll be more tired than the Leafs for that game.
