Damn, if you made this gif you straight up elevated that emoji.
Yup. I'm stupid. You're smart.

A supermajority is 290; if the Democrats gained 100 seats (which, to be clear, will not happen) they'd have 294.
Midterms and special elections always have depressed turnout relative to a presidential year. The Democratic base turned out much better than the GOP did.
I mean if you're interpreting this remarkable night as "Democrats don't turn out, this is why Republicans are going to win", you literally and without exaggeration do not understand American politics and it's best you don't go around pretending you do for everyone's benefit.
I don't want to be mean here but there is no other way to put your farcical reading of the night's events. It's embarrassing, frankly.
Yeah. Republicans didnt show up either. The American populace as a whole is fucking dumb. Show up to vote! Who cares if its a special election. The office is still the same and still.just as important. If one-fifth of the Dems who voted in 2016 but didnt vote today, actually did vote today...Thompson would have won. Democrats have to work harder in heavily GOP districts. DNC and the 30 or so thousand Democrats who sat on their ass are to blame for the loss. GOP handed this to them and Dems were like nah, gotta watch the Royals.

Veto overrides are the other major thing.Supermajority for the House does what, exactly? Pass amendments?

You just won't let reality get in the way of your narrative, huh?

I know for the Senate you need that sweet 67 to start sending folks to jail.
Do you even know what the DNC is?Yeah. Republicans didnt show up either. The American populace as a whole is fucking dumb. Show up to vote! Who cares if its a special election. It would give them enough votes in the house (2/3) to override a presidential veto.
Do you even know what the DNC is?

Seems to be a major cross-section of Sanders supporters. It's rare to see an ignorance that can be characterized as aggressive.
Was this a gerrymandered district?
Understanding how politics in America by district works != smugness. It = facts.
By smugness do you mean "knowing things"?
Was this a gerrymandered district?
God dammit guys my eyes are going to roll out of my head staaaaaaahhhhpppp
Yeah for this guy to only win by 8 points in a district Trump won by 33 points? Thats massively encouraging, espescially since Trump vouched for the guy.As long as you don't waste everyone's time trying to bullshit your way into a conversation that you're laughably in over your head on, they can roll their way to Kansas 4th for all I care.
Facts are facts. This is a remarkable result, and bodes incredibly well for 2018. Stunning over-performance by Democrats. Now if you want to pretend otherwise, by my guest, but the facts aren't going to change for your benefit.
Seems to be a major cross-section of Sanders supporters.
Kansas does congressional districts (mostly) on existing county lines, so no, actually.

Pretty much all in now. Turned from R+15 to R+4. D+11 swing yes please.

Hillary supporters are arrogant, sure! Who gives a fuck. Do you have an argument against why this is a remarkable result (which is on topic), or are we going to bring all the political neophytes back to re-litigate why their savior didn't win for the billionth time?

No doubt it's a good swing for Democrats, but I'd be a lot happier if the headlines weren't...
This is a republican win for the news cycle. That it was far closer than it should be won't be the headline.

Who cares about the headline. No way are they breathing a sigh of relief at the capitol or in the whitehouse tonight. No doubt it's a good swing for Democrats, but I'd be a lot happier if the headlines weren't...

How interesting of you to go after me and not the guy attacking Sanders supporters.
Not gonna happen. Not unless the other districts have Brownback for governor too.
Still this bodes well.
Okay. I was gonna say...
Here are KS districts in 2016. With results like tonight, that's 2 out of 4 that could be Ds in 2018:
So good news, polling is accurate and dem surge is real. Bad news, Ossoff is still polling in the 40s in GA-6 so if polls are indeed accurate, it will go to a runoff.
