NETFLIX OUR LORD AND SAVIOR WE ARE NOT WORTHY

Please be nothing short of amazing. If not at least worthy of the series.

God, this is just insane! I've been wishing for a Witcher TV series since I played Wild Hunt, thinking of HBO then, but holy shit, it's actually happening! Just with Netflix, of course.

Why? that makes no sense.

Perhaps because people assumed Roach to be male, whereas she's a mare? So they've given her male voice. In the quest Geralt asks her why does she sound so manly, and she wonders why would he assume her voice if he had never heard another horse talk.

Seriously? Imo he is an actor of one voice tone, one face expression and zero emotions. Good to play one-dimensional thug, but surely not Geralt.

I'd say he's a very good candidate for the role of a Witcher, Geralt mostly wields sarcasm, uses the same low tone and let's be honest, he isn't the most expressive individual.

Dye his hair white and we're pretty much done, he's already ripped so no need to work on his physique and his tone of voice also fits.

Shit, sounds cools even though I have zero confidence in it being good.

Made by the guys who make The Expanse, on Netflix (so a massive budget no doubt) and using amazing source material about something awesome like Witchers.... I can't see how you could have zero confidence, maybe a mild amount, but zero?

As a fan of the books (and games of course) YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!

The small stories during the first season are going to be amazing! I hope people undertand its based on them and not the videogames, that are sequels to the books.

Wouldnt mind if the series is good after it finishes the books it continues with the games, but I wouldnt be surprised if Sapkowski wants none of that.

Mads Miekkelsen as Geralt please!

Just looked for the demo reel of the SFX polish guys.

Not bad at all, also mads appear in this lol

Could they completely cut Ciri out of it? She was the worst part of all the stories.

Thats not going to happen.

I will consider this Netflix's birthday present to me! :) I love the games and books, and Netflix should do this series right!

A lot actually, the games take place years after the final book. To illustrate, during the events of the books, Ciri is 15-16 years old.
Not at all. The plot is esentially the same. It's weird and requires the player who's read the books a very strong effort on their side to suspend their disbelief. I have yet to read LOTR and saw the movies ages ago, but imagine a new RPG game retelling esentially the same story, just set years after the novels, so that Frodo's back at the Shire until Gandalf visits and assigns him the task of getting back to Mordor with a new ring. And then every event of the books with minimal modifications happens again sooner or later.

It's weird.

.

Please, PLEASE don't fuck this up!

This is a fantastic idea. They have the lore and characters down. Just make a great story out of it. I can see this easily compete against similar high fantasy shows like Game of Thrones

I can't f'ing wait. I'm really curious whether it's live action or CGI, either way it will be great. If its live action, I'd love to see Viggo Mortensen play Geralt, though he might be too expensive.

This could be really good actually. The Witcher works really well in an episodic format. Even a number of the books are short story compilations.

You have a very different memory of the storyline of the games than me. Sure, there are some similarities between events (Lodge of Sorceresses being back, Ciri still being hunted, White Frost being a plot point) and some of the locations are obviously the same, but those are just a bunch of details. The actual events in the books and games are pretty different.
