Yes, Tim Soret is a gamergater.

And, no, outing him as a gg scumbag isn't a thread derail as it will be important information for people who may be otherwise interested in the game.

I, for one, think the game looks interesting but knowing Tim is a cunt means I cannot buy it with a clear conscience.

So I won't be buying it.
Damn. This kills all my excitement and I'll just skip it now. There are other games I can play instead.

Aaaand there goes my interest.

Alright. I admit that I didn't follow him all that closely.

I reserve the right not to care, and to be excited for the game.
Why say that people shouldn't discuss it if you don't care? There are people who do care and don't want to support or condone that ganergate movement.

Haha what part worries you? The cinematic bit? What we mean by that is it has lots of atmosphere and a good narrative :)

It has become synonymous with pointless gameplay segments that often take away from the experience. Limbo/Inside has this problem where the platforming was superficial most of the time. The first narrow escape is harrowing, but then it becomes obvious that everything is carefully choreographed and that the input is nothing more than a fancy "select next scene" button. Uncharted has the same problem in a 3D space. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer something like Night in the Woods where the platforming clunky and there is room for error. It's not pretending to be anything else and the focus is on the core strength's of the game.

I don't want to rag on the game over a word (everything about the trailer looks awesome and maybe I should have reserved was worry for a gameplay trailer), but it's something that does my head in, mostly because it feels like a reaction to the "it's not a game argument" instead of just focusing on the core of the game.

Visually, this is probably the coolest looking game I've ever seen. Not even exaggerating.

yes this was a true mario 64 moment for me.

a hybrid for 2d gaming that kickstarted it into 2017
i really don't give two F's about the political views of the creators.
I WANT this game now

I shit my pants. This is the first time I seen this game and I'm blown away.

I have no idea why MS did not give this game a more prominent stage. It looks absolutely phenomenal. Hidden gem of their show for me.

......and apparently he is associated with the gamergate stuff. Wonder if that had anything to do with the game being put on a sizzle reel instead of a prominent setting.

Totally hear you. All I can say is we don't actually have any 'platforming'. It's a realistic move-set. You have full control over the character. It's about exploring the city and its stories, with cinematic storytelling (i.e. no obvious HUD, no endless dialogue etc etc).

So, totally valid concern, but you'll see as we show more, we hate that kind of thing too. Like, imagine the atmosphere of Flashback without the frustrating jumping around haha.

This looked great , and and I loved the moody art style. Unfortunately u have discovered that the developer of this is a gamergater. Hard pass, will recommend others not to get it too.

We're still a small team working hard on an ambitious project, and our first one. We're super flattered you think we should have been given more time/space but I think we had an incredible opportunity as it is :D
