I guess they are taking the garbage truck worker convention thing seriously.

You are now manually feeling old

Indeed. I feel older every day.

I never asked him. I asked in our hangouts thread if there was interest and the only response I got was that we didn't need the "Georgia Corner" to be any longer than normal so I didn't pursue it.

Think it would have been more worthwhile to have a guest if that was the only big game this week, but when it's one of 3 or 4 then it loses some of the focus.

Well there goes my Patreon subscription.

looks like the week your game vs USC is a slow week, can probably get you on then

I'm not sure I can stomach talking about USC for any period of time.

Edit: I will say, I'm not entirely sure what your weekly format is, but I am capable of making fun of just about any team in the country.

Fork 'em, Sparky!
Every year in late September, I go to myrtle beach for work for a week. It is mostly about playing golf and taking clients out, but it looks like this year is going to be a total waste if this storm hits hard enough.

Last year, we got out the day before the big storm hit and knocked down tons of trees along the coast, but definitely looks more hardcore this year.

One one hand, I get that you don't want people traveling to/from a game in this scenario, even if Tally won't get this until Sunday/Monday.

On the other, it's college football... we only care about safety on the surface level.

Exactly! It's college football season, dammit!

I do know that FIU vs Alcorn State have moved the game to Birmingham and Legion Field. I'm sure the crowd size will be gloriously small.

After last week's poor showing from Louisville, my too-cute pick is UNC in the upset.

UNC didn't look fantastic, but they looked pretty stout.

Oklahoma - Ohio State is a total crapshoot. Which Baker Mayfield and which JT Barrett shows up? The scrambling machine or the flustered turd?

If Brandon Harris and Lamar Jackson are playing each other and you go with Brandon Harris, you picked wrong.

Driving up to Provo, UT tomorrow to watch BYU (who had less than 100 yards total offense and never made it past the 50 yard line last Saturday) play arch rival Utah in the Holy War. I paid $125 per ticket and I can't even drink my misery away.

I'm sure they could've firgued something out but guess they figured it wasn't worth it. This was supposed to be a tune up game for us before Tennessee.

This season is gonna be shit.

Moving it to Friday likely would have made it viable. Winds aren't expected in the central Florida area until basically overnight Sunday or maybe late Saturday. But I guess that would have made it a short week and that decision would have needed to be made days ago so N Colorado could make arrangements.

UCF just moved theirs to Friday night and they've basically canceled normal pre-game stuff like tailgating so police can assist in preparations. One last move should be closing it to the public but we'll likely only have a couple thousand there anyway. Anyway, Friday night allows plenty of time for Memphis to get out and for remaining storm prep to get done. But we both had Thursday games last week, so that made it more possible.

Edit: USF away game at UCONN canceled. I know that was a choice in the pick 'em.

This is really sad and disgusting. I'm not a fan of Sumlin as a head coach, but this is awful.

Damn, his wife and his daughter tweeted about it. Apparently the daughter is in college at A&M. Nobody should have that hatred and bigotry spewed their way but for kids to be exposed to it as well is just awful.

They've had similar incidents towards even high school students while they were touring campus. Return address is the Houston Country Club.

I'm confident at least some of the lack of support for some TX coaches, including Strong, were due to old money donors hating the fact a black man led their program. I actively dislike Strong, but he had to come into a mess with TX. While I have little sympathy for them because the pretty much have infinite money, I do think he wasn't given much of the benefit of the doubt. Same can go for Sumlin - even though, again, I'm not a fan of him given how he treated Houston.

Frankly I'm impressed that a braindead white trash piece of racist shit can write cursive.

Pathetic.

Rumlin commutes from Houston every day? I don't blame him for not wanting to live in College Station but it has to be a daily nightmare driving 290 with all the endless construction.

edit: also baylor will be starting up to 15 true freshmen in their next game, and one of their basketball players, Ish Wainwright, will be their starting Tight End

Y'all are the second best team in the SEC. It'll be fine.

Seriously though, stay safe down there.

UCF/Memphis canceled. For some unknown reason. Decision made after Memphis already arrived in Orlando. Game would have been over with nearly 36 hours until any storm effects in Orlando.

UCF running scared.

Plus encouraging people to get out now.

I mean.... they haven't beat us since we were DIAA/FCS! And it was already bare minimum staff. No tailgating, gameday activities like band/cheerleaders, etc. They could have closed it to the public too. I'm guessing Governor Scott never actually talked to university officials before making his announcement shutting down the state. But oh well. Nothing to do.

And to think I almost bought flights and tickets to this game before the season started for my yearly game in Orlando. Might have to do UCF/USF now.

I actually did, but I was able to change at no cost with SW. I'm actually also going to the USF game in November. While I hope for maximum pain for USF, it also would be pretty awesome for both of us to be undefeated at the end of the year. Atmosphere would be insane.
