The teaser hints that Rome and Vatican City will be in the game.

Yeah that's great to see.
Gonna whip me some pope, indiana style!

Late last year, after the Zenimax acquisition, someone working for one of their studios was interviewed about some upcoming game (can't remember which one). His quote, roughly, was "We're going to be first, or better, or best on Xbox". Meaning the game will be mulitplatform, but Xbox would be lead development platform, and would either release as a timed exclusive or implying that the Playstation version would be gimped (if necessary) to make sure that the Xbox version was the best one.
Does anyone remember which game this was about?

Anyway, I would assume something similar will happen here. This game will be multiplatform, but Xbox owners will get it first, or get a superior version.

Kinda confused, is this gonna be an FPS, I was hoping it'd be more like UC or Tomb Raider. First person games are not my jam :(

It's a bit funny that Wolfenstein is about killing/overthrowing the Nazis and Indiana Jones main nemesis are also Nazis who attempt to steal ancient supernatural relics. Very ironic.
Raiders of the Lost Ark was Nazis
Temple of Doom was the Thuggee Cult
Last Crusade was Nazis
Crystal Skull was Soviets

Only half the time does Indy confront Nazis.
And that is the most overused enemy in all of gaming. Time for something new.

Nazis are the only enemy in games that won't have SJWs complaining about something.

Respawn's games before Jedi Fallen Order were FPS.

There is practically 0% chance this is first person.
I hope it is true here too but who knows? Maybe taking it FP could help differentiate from contemporaries like Tomb Raider or UC. I do hope it is a 3rd person title, exploration should be as big of a part as combat in an Indy game and I feel 3rd person mode is more suited for that.

Uncharted 4 doesn't even come close to the indy movies, even though the game tried its best as being an interactive movie.

Nothing comes close to George Lucas' indy.

So indy is multi-layered? Because out of last crusade there is very little character building across Lost ark, temple of doom,. Uncharted literally shows nate, sully, elena and their relationships across four games. Crusade is the only indy movie that really delvs into what makes indy tick and his relationship with his father.

I thought there was a lot of untapped potential in the Cold War storyline. Crystal Skull took place in 1957. That would've been right in the middle of all the East/West espionage. I'm sure there are some creative people who could craft a thrilling yarn with Indy traversing Europe on the hunt to find or protect some valuable piece of history.
SJWs also hate "white men", which could be represented by western governments. Indy could be fighting or fleeing both sides, putting the game outside of the wrath of Reeeeeeeeee.

You missed the point. The point is that Lucas Arts didn't compel Bioware to make the game for multiple platforms as some are suggesting they will do this time around because it's a big video game and big videogames always come to Playstation.
Different company, different times.

Limited releases were a lot more feasible back then than they are now. KOTOR came out at the tail end of an era where you could develop a game with top-class production values, give it a PC-only release and still make a decent profit. With the exception of Xbox, the hardware architecture and development processes for each console differed wildly not just from PC, but from each other. Porting a game was expensive, presented a significant challenge and was more often than not a huge pain in the ass. It's not a surprise that most games back then didn't get ports at all.

Nowadays production and development costs have risen astronomically while console hardware and the development process itself have gotten streamlined across platforms. You need a larger audience to turn a profit, but reaching that audience by porting your game to multiple platforms has become easier than ever. As a result, multiplatform releases changed from being the exception to being the norm.

Again, I'm not saying the game is definitely coming to Playstation, just that there is much more of an incentive for Lucasfilm to release their games on other consoles now than there was 18 years ago.

Do you know the amount of due diligence and general lawyering that's done before an offer to buy is even extended? If MS wants the Indie IP to be XBOX exclusive (why wouldn't they?) you best to believe they made it happen during negotiations.

Companies this big have 3Y, 5Y and 10Y plan already layed out. Of course MS knows what all the studios have in plan for the next half a decade.

You can call it whatever you want, if it's not an in-game model of Harrison Ford, it's not Indiana Jones
Or at the very least get a contract signed with the guy who did these custom head sculpts for 1/12 scale Indy figures..

Theres plenty of character building. George Lucas just doesn't have to show 13 hours to make people get it.

I'm not excited just for a teaser and MachineGames is developing it (Wolfenstein II was pretty bad).
But as a fan of Indy I'm eager to see more!

"Late last year...."

Phil Spencer said the exact opposite in October....3 months ago.
Nowhere in the documentation that we put together was: ‘How do we keep other players from playing these games?’ We want more people to be able to play games, not fewer people to be able to go play games. But I’ll also say in the model—I’m just answering directly the question that you had—when I think about where people are going to be playing and the number of devices that we had, and we have xCloud and PC and Game Pass and our console base, I don’t have to go ship those games on any other platform other than the platforms that we support in order to kind of make the deal work for us. Whatever that means.” - Phil Spencer

to sum it up "We didn't pay $7.5 Billion dollars for timed exclusives. Timed exclusives don't help us recoup our money"
