When is the (US) PS Store open on the Vita by the way? Got "this isn't available in your region" yesterday.
10% is not enough. You're forced to buy a memory stick (practically) and it would take ~6 games to offset the price of the cheapest memory stick.. and if you did they wouldn't even all fit on it.
Now if they were $30 instead of $40 that would be nice, but saving $4 is not worth it, might as well buy a physical copy and some places would probably be cheaper.
Why some games have no discount at all is beyond me.
apparently first party games came out today at gamestop... can anyone confirm? im going to go Friday and check it out, i have 3 paid off already so hopefully they are there
What is that? I can only think of one thing (ignoring the puny $4, can't even buy a moccajokapoka at Starbucks with that saving), and that's having a bunch of full games on a system without having to switch them or losing them. You have to think about retailers. Gamestop, with their huge profits they get with used games, wouldn't want the system they're selling to undercut their prices on digital majorly. And beyond that, your mindset seems to be that all the advantages are to buying physical, when in fact, there are many advantages to buying digital as well.
You have to call your Gamestop, but yes, I just checked, and mine is selling Uncharted, Wipeout, and Little Deviants.
Lmao @ amazon having some games cheaper than the psn store price
Went into GAME today and asked about the launch prices of PSV games.
Answer was - £39.99. All of them. When asked if I wanted to pre-order, I basically told the truth - amazon are getting my money.
They also have PC games cheaper than steam. Do we laugh our asses off at that also?
$50 for their external battery pack is a pretty good deal. Charges the system for an additional 6-7 hours I believe. You should look into it if you travel a lot.I'm so on the fence about the Vita. On the one hand, I find the technology absolutely wonderful and I want one badly. On the other, I'm disappointed with the battery life, which is important to me when I travel.
There are a few games in the launch line-up that I'm interested in, but I may wait and see what comes down the line. I really great, open world RPG that I could carry around in my hands would get me very excited.

Craigslist or trade those sum-bitches in. I believe GS and Best Buy have trade-in promotions going on right now for extra value.Yeah, I saw that on the Game Stop site and thought that it was a good solution. It seemed small and light as well, which is a big plus. I'm definitely tempted to jump in at launch. I bought the original PSP when it launched, and loved it. Later I picked up a PSP Go and played it regularly for a while. It's kind of collecting dust at the moment though.
Having no discount on Uncharted for the PSN is just absurd and downright idiotic.
Assuming downloads are roughly the same price as Amazon I'm basically using the trade-ins to get PSN cards to go digital. Some of the retail prices seem ridiculous. There should definitely be a £10 difference between Uncharted and Wipeout for example.

You can still put your downloads on a memory card. There's your physical media.

No, because for quite a few of those games you have the option of buying cheaper at Amazon and still activating on Steam.
Nothing new. PSP was the same at launch, even 3DS games are sold close to that; many shops sell 3D Land/MK7 for £35, £37.50.

Yet I still prefer owning a physical copy. Not switching carts and not losing carts are two different advantages, but also having all your games with you at one time, being able to download as soon as it comes out and not having to go to the store, and saving about 5 bucks as a little bonus.
It's worth it to me to be able to carry around multiple games all on one memory card and launch them without having to swap anything out.

It's a shame you can't simply tie a game card to your PSN account and download a copy. Could also potentially kill used sales.
£35 is acceptable. I've just left my job at store manager at a Blockbuster, and we sold Mario 3D Land and MK7 for £32.99 - which was a decent price
how the fuck GAME think they can charge £39.99 for a handheld title is absolutely mindblowing
I don't know where to post this. I hope someone with knowledge can answer here.
What's stopping Sony from enabling Remote Play on all PS3/PSN games ?
Making sure it works well.

I'm still torn about if I should get any games digitally. Tempted to get Hot Shots digital.
Im ordering a 3G bundle from Amazon, i understand that i HAVE to use AT&T service to get my free game. Problem is im not in the US, will i be able to give my AT&T voucher to someone i trust to get the free PSN game code or am i SOL?
Err, I don't think that''s a good reason. So that they can sell us the same game twice as the "Vita version" - ie MGS HD Vita that's already on the PS3.
