loved the episode. i think this was the funniest episode yet. loved the picture of finch and the fact that they kept the baby between books. all the reese-baby interaction was fresh

That was a great episodes. The whole Reese/Finch/Baby drama was hilarious.

But then it got all grim and dark. Yikes, wasn't expecting that at the end. Damn, Elias is a cold bastard.

I agree with the sentiment that this was the funniest episode yet. Elias remains as the best villain in the show. Man they better renew this and fast! :p

I bet they will. ratings just keep on rising.

this week they had 15,78 million viewers with a market penetration of ~9% which is a new record for this show. i cant believe they schedule this show so badly, its almost like they want it to bomb. but no way, quality wins!

It was given CBS's most prized timeslot for a drama. It's going to get renewed and it's now a bona fide hit (a 3.4 that grew from a 3.1 premiere is huge), but let's not act like it had a bad timeslot.

its not about the timeslot, the timeslot is great. its just that there are more reruns and encore episodes than new ones. for casual watchers it might be hard to follow. on the other hand the episodes are self contained enough to easily jump in mid season

btw: as i am not from the usa, how does the rating system work there. everytime i see those 3.1-style numbers, i have no idea what they mean

They're a percentage of total 18-49 year olds who are watching the program. Those are what matter because they set ad rates.

And repeats are part of American television. They have to program 22 episodes of programming over 9 months. Every show goes through the same exact thing.

It's just the numbers for the most sought after age group. It's like 18-whatever. So you could have millions and millions watching your show, but if that 18-whatever rating is bad then it wouldn't matter. But PoI's ratings are very good.

edit: oops

There are various ways shows work around the "22" episode schedule. Some delay till January-March, then run the episodes straight with no breaks/limited breaks. 24 and Lost's last few years, did this.

Then you have large mid season breaks, ranging from a month (like Lost's earlier seasons) to half a year (hello SyFy Channel's Eureka and StarGate).

Then, there's what's PoI is doing, by showing an episode, then skipping a week, then showing another episode or 2, then skipping another week or 2.

I prefer the 1st 2 options, than the 3rd.

But the third is better than Cartoon Network's use of Young Justice :jnc

What the fuck, new episode pre-empted tonight cause of basketball. They did the same thing last week.

DAMN IT, BASKETBALL, STOP TAKING MY PERSON OF INTEREST AWAY!

Just read the POI wiki and I noticed that it says
Jessica is dead.

I've seen every episode and I don't seem to remember
her death
being shown/explained. Am I missing something?

Finch revealed he knew about it in the Pilot when he first finds John. We haven't seen how it happened, but we know it happened.

Also, finally a new episode. Fuckin' basketball.

Watching Emerson acting out high on ecstasy was definitely the "high" point of the episode. I also thought Reese had the most Epic knee shot yet with the "It's just water" trick.

Got my dad hooked on the show today with this episode. I turned around for a minute to grab something and he yells out "Oh shit... his knee!" Informed him that happens a lot on this show, Reese is anti-knee. Next week's episode looks amazing, and the setup seems like it could be a season finale, not sure where they'll go from there.

I'm sure there's an "arrow to the knee" joke that could be used for this show.

Great episode.

The stakes are getting higher, love the FBI involvement too, I could see multiple season arcs with that alone.

What the hell did Finch mean when he said "Goodnight Nathan"? I don't think it was accidental or comical due to his state of being high. I think there's more to it.

You can sense it was a more serious scene at those last seconds and it was almost as if Finch was saying it on purpose. But I can't see any relation with Reese & Nathan. Guess we'll find out tomorrow...

Something I can't quite figure out either. Far as we know, John's name is John, so I doubt his "real name" is Nathan.

Show has only one other Nathan, and it's Finch's deceased "partner", so perhaps that's how he's come to view John, as his compatriot.

Still could be more to show how Nathan related to Finch. How they met, how close they ever got (had to be something, for Nathan's kid to think of Finch as "Uncle", but I don't think they're actually related.). Also, how Nathan died.

Nevermind who IS Finch. What's his name, why he's so secretive, and why he's been like that for so long (back to the 70/80's).

It's on!

Flesh and Blood
When The Machine spits out five numbers, naming the Don of each of New York's crime families, Reese and Finch suspect Elias is planning to eliminate his competition. Reese also has to save Carter's son, who has been kidnapped by Elias.

An insane episode of television, Lonestar.

Why, yes, you're right, Lonestar. Very Astute analysis!

We (I) need a gif man for this show. Knee capping through a door :lol

A return of an Unkle song, Burn My Shadow, when John goes in to get the kid.

Episode kind of wrapped up quick at the end, but still some good stuff.

Oh crud, no preview made me look up when the next episode is.

April 26th

:D

John's crouching at the door, desperate to shoot more knees.

I swear, if John ever pulls out a bow and arrow, and kneecaps someone....

3 weeks again. CBS better plan the show better for next year.

This show is great, it manages to stay fresh and entertaining more so than any other procedural on televisions. Hawaii Five-0, Awake, Touch, Castle, i'll sometimes leave on my dvr for days, but POI is instant watch live every Thursday.

This show deserves a much better opening sequence that the current one, which sounds like someone reading off a conspiracy theory website hosted on geocities.
