I've never played Zone of the Enders before. I don't know much about the game but the screens/art style look great and looking at video footage, it looks pretty fun.

If this does land in North America, I'll probably pick it up.

I 100%'ed the shit out of these two games back in the day. Loved them, almost more than MGS at times. I hope the trophies require you to get SS ranks and in ZOE2's case, 100% Mission Mode. That stuff was so much fun to do!

Oh god, I need the premium version. Looks gorgeous.

I just worry about the jaggies in the screens. If it was Bluepoint it would surely have AA. I mean the original game ran at 60fps already, so it's not like MGS3 where they had to double the framerate, up the resolution, and add AA. AA should definitely be doable at 720p. Although if it's 1080p, 60fps I could see why AA would be lacking.

...or it's not Bluepoint and it's some cheap dev who is struggling to even get it running at 720p, 60fps so no AA.

What are the chances of getting the European Extreme and/or Japanese Super Hard difficulties in this?

Because I'll import the Japanese set for the PS3 if I have to, to get access to the Super Hard difficulty at the very least.

(I never bothered with the MGS HD Collection. Did that have the additional difficulties in it?)

I expect lots of comments of disappointment when new players get their hands on it. As these really aren't that great of games imo. The first one is shorter then 1 cut scene in MGS and ends right where you think it getting good. Both are repetitive but first one is too short to be a problem, second one is 10 times longer which means 10000 grunts to eliminate. At least it has more weapons and bit deeper gameplay.
Best thing is music (dat Anubis), mecha design and some of cut scenes though voice acting in 2 sucks.

Gamers? Disappointed? Nonsense.

720p with no AA will look kind of unimpressive. The game was already 60fps on PS2. 720p with 4xAA is what it should be if they can't do 1080p.

ZoE1 kind of sucks, but ZoE2 holds up like gold (outside the US voice acting; are they re-dubbing it?). The gameplay is perfect, the story is great, and it's short but has no filler.

ZoE2 is definitely still one of the top 10 games of the last decade.

Wow, sounds like they're working hard on bringing back the ZOE franchise. I'm down for this HD collection, day 1.

Yep the game needs some AA. Still looks fantastic but come on man give me some AA, those jaggies are killing me.

HD collections tend to make some pretty big jumps in the months leading up to launch. DMC's had some missing effects in trailers but the release itself has them intact. Here's hoping for some AA.

Has to be the first time I've ever seen someone say ZoE1 is shorter than 2.

and pretty much what bebpo said.

ZoE1 is longer, but has quite a bit of filler. ZoE2 is just perfectly paced.

I would like a redub of ZoE2 simply because at times, the script just didn't even make sense (in case point, "Who's second-hand?!")

How long are the games in terms of hours?

ZOE1: maybe 3 hours if you try to do everything; there's really not much else to do once you beat it
ZOE2: about 6 hours and there's really not much in the way of side content until you beat it once; once you do, you unlock some special missions to try out in the main menu, some special bossfights in the single player that are a bit hidden, as well as a pretty spiffy 3D take on Gradius called Zoradius

Are the games difficult? They seem awfully short :\

ZOE1 is criminally short and easy, especially since it has the gall to end the way it does, but ZOE2 is really well paced and has absolutely no shortage of HOLY CRAP scenarios. Enemy AI is far more aggressive in ZOE2 and it'll definitely give you a good workout on harder difficulties.

I'm still kinda gutted about the 720p no aa thing, 1080p without and 720p with some aa would have been fine. I'm not hating, ZoE 2nd Runner is one of my all time PS2 favorites and I do want the best possible version. I prolly end up buying the HD collection for the other goodies. Anyways, for reference, I popped ZoE 2nd Runner into PCSX2, it used to choke my GTX460 (read unplayable), but my new GTX680 runs it pretty well with 5xNative:

So are the screens in the OP sans motion blur? Cause the PCSX2 shots are swimmin' in it and I guess would alleviate some of the issues with the jaggies.

Seeing some compression too.
