Halo |OT12| Last One Out, Get the Lights

I know those pieces of shit. I yell everytime, it's beyond stupid. Not just bad kids, terrible kids.

Or the kind of kids who, after you've saved them and gotten a Protector medal, run away and let you get cleaned up.

Where's the teamwork? I thought Halo was a team game, not an individual-based performance game.

Also, via bs angel from the Halo Bulletin discussion thread on Waypoint, regarding joining in progress:

bs angel said:
We're investigating some of the issues that are being reported in regard to Join in Progress, but no decisions have been made at this time. Still in the research and determine the best course of action stage. The feature won't be removed, but the formula may be tweaked.

They all stopped caring when Antitype was raging at them for the assists he was getting.

-Why is the Light Rifle so frustrating to use? It's so close to be awesome, but something just isn't there (thing has some major flinch).
-Ragnarok sucks. There I said it.

Holy shit, did anyone know this was in the Waypoint store?!

Should've worn this on Halloween.

EDIT: Actually looking through the Waypoint store. They've got some pretty neat stuff. Chief Illustrations shirt is really tempting.

If the Light Rifle shots were nearly as reliable as the DMR/BR I would use it all the time, it is such a fun and satisfying gun to use when it works!
Unfortunately I get Halo 3 BR levels of hit detection when using it :/

I bet it dominates on LAN.

The only thing I don't like about the LightRifle is the sound. For some reason, the shooting sound it makes is just annoying to me.

Really hate the fact that playlists I've grown to love over the years are now on roation, and things like oddball and flag get to stay. What is going on here....

Decent playlist management for the first time in Halo.

------------------------

Game has rapidly become very frustrating to play. I think I won't play tomorrow to get away from it for a bit. Then maybe I can come back to it fresh this weekend.

The playlist organization is just terrible to begin with. There shouldnt be a playlist for each and every gametype.

343i now runs halo bro.

I think it's rather stupid to have such playlists we do now. Why not just make it simple like H3 MM menu.

Agreed. However, the UI and lobbies aren't set up that way. You go into a game-specific playlist, and all you have to do is vote on the map. If you throw in game and map variants together (for example, a Team Objective playlist), three options really aren't that much to choose from given the variety of KotH/Oddball/CTF and map combinations possible. Where would the gametype selection be located on the UI in the voting lobby? Under the map name, I suppose. Either way, it looks like the voting lobbies aren't designed to support multiple gametype playlists to begin with.

I'm just quitting out of Ragnarok now.
Why not? There's no penalty!

On an unrelated side note, what happened to Murder Miners? Does anyone still play that game anymore (did an update come out for it yet)?

Just ran into a Regen bug were once you step into the green bubble, the whole game afterwards sounds like your inside regen. :/

Edit: JIP should be nuked out of everything besides Infinity. Let the little kiddies have fun.

I really miss the red Xs. No idea why they went.

I have to say despite there being various things I dislike, H4 is great fun for me: I can understand some complaints here, but the level of negativity and hyperbole from some quarters doesn't equate to much other than a real emotional disappointment: something that will inevitably occur, sadly.

This would have been a perfect time for you to use the word 'litotes' - underused and underappreciated.

My close real life friends are all really bad at Halo. I can go plus ~+10 pretty regularly while they can't break even most of the time, which makes playing with them frustrating because I'm playing my ass off and still losing constantly. Meanwhile my internet associates are all competent players and go positive often. That doesn't really have anything to do with anything, I'm just whining. Still better than playing alone in either case I guess.

In reach you would vote for the gametype and map on the same slot, why not in this game?

I'm actually interested in hearing what Nemesis actually does in detail. Everything prerelease was pretty vague, and I haven't heard anything specific about it yet. Blaze a trail!

As far as I can tell it waypoints the person who just killed you for a few seconds after spawn.

Splockets on sandtrap was the best because it turned into Pirates on Elephants

"FIRE BROADSIDE LASERS"

"UNLEASH THE ROCKET SALVO"

"BOARD THEIR ELEPHANT"

Splockets & best do not belong in the same sentence...ever.

They need to fix the respawn timers in objective games, and add some power weapons that spawn regularly that could help with pushing/breaking set ups. I think I've fired rockets in this game about 10 times total out of 200 games or so, lame.

I miss "they quittin out now"
It was fun in Halo 3 because it happened on occasion.
But then this last year of reach people just didn't care about finishing the match.
JIP is one of those things that was needed but ive never played a game where the player could decide if they wanted to JIP.
Rip 10 min blackscreen......lol Jk fuck reach

Trueskill is still really bad at weighing different levels of skill on the same team. I told TD i should play as his guest for a while so that he could play people not at my level instead of just getting shat on. It's really hard for newer people to acclimate to this game.

Hey you guys! I have a Limited Edition copy of Halo 4 to give away, but also this sweet, never sold in shops Halo 4 notebook:

It's by Moleskine, so in terms of quality it's about as good a notepad as you can get.

To win this I'd like you to imagine for a second that you are the Master Chief, you're stranded on Requiem and all you have with you is a pen and your notebook. What are you going to do?

Will you write a poem? a short story? a diagram of the location or a doodle of Cortana? Submissions can be a drawing or text, bonus points if you actually use a pen (or pencil) and paper to do it.

To enter you can PM me, post here, Tweet me, or email me. I'll cover postage to Europe and North America, ROW I may have to ask for a contribution depending on shipping cost. It's on my site, so not exclusive to HaloGAF, but surely no-one else will be able to beat your submissions, right?

More info!

Teach a Promethean Knight how to read:

*Camera flashes forward to Master Chief sitting in front of a Promethean Knight, which is holding the notebook in its little t-rex hands; it has the notebook held really close to its head. There are seated crawlers gathered round in a circle, and there are watchers hovering overhead. The Knight is slowly, but steadily reading each word aloud in a really angry voice.*

"...and, it, was, then, day. Rea-rea-rea"

*Promethean Knight looks up at Master Chief, Master Chief nods his head*

"rea-lised that, day, wer, no, l-lon-ger, litt'l, gurls: but, that, they, wer. but that day wer, litt'l wim-men."

Promethean Knight mumbles the last line again to itself, it slowly puts the book down and looks up. It then proceeds to loudly break down into a really awkward sobbing fit. The Master Chief pats it on its back.

If Halo is set in the same universe we live in, but in the ~26th century, why can't chief just read archives of the Halo books that we have on our shelves at the moment to figure out what to do?

Yes, I am well aware how stupid that sounds.

In the future the Halo novels will be seen as prophetic religious texts that foresaw the coming of our saviour.
