How exactly did Bungie work getting the Super? Shouldn't all their work on halo games have been for-hire corporate works, so Microsoft would have owned everything?
I don't think they actually own it anymore, it was taken off their trademarks age a ling time ago, and they stopped using it on shirts. I think Superintendent on the Headlong remake sealed the deal.

Gah. Just going through the helmets in the game and I came across the Commando one.

I was expecting this, but better...

i could rub crisco all over my body, walk out into the woods, roll around for a half hour, and the casing of leaves, branches, and squirrel shit that would cake itself to my body would still be better than what starcraft 2 players wear

Is that a glitched helmet? Sweet, I can cosplay the space pope in the game.

Also fuck y'all, the helmets and armor customization in Halo 4 absolutely shit on those in Reach.

I made some example .GIFs from my Foundation remake for a write-up on the lighting system (In this ForgeGAF Post.).

I made it by taking a screenshot in theater, moving some forge pieces that affect the lighting just a bit, switching to player mode and waiting for it to generate lighting, then repeating these steps for every frame.
Then I extract/dump the 1080p screenshots on my PC with a special app and stitch the frames together into a .GIF in PS/AE.

In this shot, the only thing that's changing is a single coliseum wall (on top, outside of the map, not pictured) that I use to cast a shadow over blue/green team's side of the map (for matching cold color temperature team base colors with cold/shadowed lighting, which helps improve navigability) is moving closer/farther away from the part of the map it is shadowing. This is used to illustrate the importance of choosing the right place to build your map and how you can make targeted adjustments to your maps ambient/indirect lighting, making everything seem less flat and dark. All the while, the shadow that the coluseum wall piece is casting stays in the same spot, only its ambient component changes, just as intended.

Click the link above if you want to read more about lighting techniques for forge and some of my process for making my map.

Here is another example for some technical stuff for the post:

that's all the forge GIFs I got for now

^I.. can't stop watching
I know, its hypnotizing. I've watched it quite a few times myself.

Also, it takes an annoyingly long time to make, since theatre has some wierd issues regenerating the lighting mid-film, so getting the stop motion animation to not skip frames is difficult.

Wish I had a good capture card. But, It looks great in 1080p with the extra theatre mode enhancements!

Now that I think about it, you could set up an Arduino to record halo gameplay footage in 1080p with perfect anti aliasing and theater-mode-extras like longer/higher LOD distances, better filtering and potentially infinitely higher frame rates for procedural effects like Particle/water/plant-animations effects (though, sadly, not player animations since those don't seem to get interpolated). Maybe you could even capture it all in stereo 3d through a slight offset. All you would have to do is get the arduino to emulate the Xbox controller with some macros to automate all the button presses and capture everything frame by frame.

Man, that's gotta be one of the craziest ideas for capturing 6 yr old console game footage. What did Bungie call their video capture service? I think the internal code name was the Hydra system? I need a name for this one for when I launch my own service in direct competition. Lol, charge $20 for a minute long true 1080p clip of Halo .4 :p

What I am saying is, Halo 4 for Windows please. (Even if it's locked to window 8)

Camo and snipers errywhere.

lol Halo 4.

Get on for one game of dominion, matched up against 70s and dudes with specialization. All of them had camo, snipes and some other power weapon at their disposal and were camping in various places on Longbow. So one game was enough for me tonight. What a crock of shit.
