[Cornballer]

Carla Gugino felt like someone they were setting up as a regular or recurring character, then she just never showed up again. It was weird. Either something came up and she became unavailable, or the writers did a poor job of capitalizing on her appearance.

It was a nod to Karen Sisco and a chance to bring together two of Elmore Leonard's characters. I'm not sure if Gugino was available to do more than she did.

Nah, I think it's the other way around. Season 4 will see the disappearance of Winona and the rise of Ava. If season 4 had a subtitle, it would be Rise of Ava. By the end of the season you'll be a believer.

Carla is off slumming it on some network show or other. I don't expect to see her again on Justified, though I think it would be cool if she did come back. She would make a cool partner for Raylan.
