It looks cool. I haven't played a Pokemon game in a while so I'm probably in day 1. As for the graphics they look really good at times especially some of the lighting and then really bad at times some of the really low poly low textured vistas. Mixed bag IMO.

Still I'm down!

Looks nice. I like the stag, and I'll probably take the grass starter (well, maybe fire...plenty of time to change my mind).

I wonder if there will be a way to turn off battle animations. They could really slow things down.

Theres always been an option to do that.

So uh, the way they made the game "fully 3d", is by zooming in on the character and changing the camera angle? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.

They're also using polygons instead of sprites but, yeah, it looks like its got fixed camera angles.

Yeah, the event Pokemon are the big downer for me in collecting. I usually just do the single player stuff. Though won't lie, absolutely hate caves. And that's more than just fighting Zubats. Every step and a half it's a fight. It's like hell maybe one day I'll get out of this cave.

I really do hope with this new generation Nintendo stops focusing on going to places on giving out some Pokemon and does it online. Just do it within a specific time period or something, like they do now. Just make the time available really limited. I'd rather that than not having a chance at all. Used to be where I lived we didn't have any cool Pokemon stuff coming to town. Now that I live abroad, I'm kind of SOL still. I never got why they haven't done more via the internet. So much easier, but guess when you partner with companies they want to be the ones that people flock to to get it. That kind of stuff is archaic now though. Needs to die in a fire.

Just really hoping this generation focuses more on the online distribution. Been complaining about it since they allowed online trading and will be until it's implemented. Hoping for best.

EDIT: Skyfire, nothing wrong with that. I'm older and it feels like 1997 again for me as well. I'm like all giddy and on the hype train now.

Ahaha well I'm glad I'm not the only one then! :D And Fennekin will so be my starter, I like it just as much as my Torchic back then :p

Taller and definitely different models for everything. I assure you that the cliffs were not in 3D before.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe

Look at those Samurott pecs

Potentially over 700 unique models with animations plus the various locations, trainers, event scenes, music, and such.

You do know that this is 3ds not a ps3 guys.

It looks fine where it needs to... The battles.

It looks janky in places and the franrates is pretty bad but The worst looking 3ds game tho? Come on

This guy gets it

Vulpix is the better fire fox.

Hell no. Only thing going for it is Drought but otherwise it's a shitty Arcanine.

I see the Pokémon designs are continuing the downward spiral. Gen 1 still reigns supreme.

Says the Pokemon whose pre-evos are better designed :p

Caught the end of the stream early this morning. What I saw looked excellent and so glad there's going to be a worldwide release in all the major regions. Nintendo needs to make sure they do that more. That's going to make the Fall a LOT better on the gaming front.

Ohh, so it's like Pokesav, but more... legit I guess.

They count as legit pokemons? If so, that's cool. :)

As long as the personality value is generated by a method used by the game it's flagged as originating from and none of the other metadata is wonky (met in valid location, valid Pokeball used for capture, only 510 EVs, legal ability, etc.) it should be indistinguishable.

Does anyone else think that this is what the pokemon games were going to look like for the DS back in 2004? This is what I had in mind. The visuals are a little dissapointing for 2013.
