Bahaha, ethically questionable decisions? Certain actions most certainly have different consequences. I would never, EVER openly attack people or hold them hostage or try to kill them. That's what these guys are doing, dude. They aren't just lying or cheating on a chemistry test.
When they get killed because they wanted to kill your team just to take their supplies, it'll be entirely on them.

So you've already made up your mind that any high review scores are not legitimate. So good reviews are paid for and can't be taken seriously, bad reviews confirm your position that the game is crap. Why are you even wasting time following this game at this point?

I don't think you get my point. Read what I wrote about how these killings impact a narrative that aims to be taken seriously.
Nonetheless, this discussion might reside in the fact that we may be living in different worlds where human lives are valued differently and actively taking their lives have different implications for me and you. So, I'll just leave it at that.

You're entirely missing my point and taking things out of context. And that is that: Lara is not the one going out and murdering and raping and pillaging. It's self-defense. You're trying to present a case of pity and mercy for these poor murdering savages, but it just doesn't work like that. You say that I don't value life? On the contrary. I value it, and so should these murderers, but they don't. I would sacrifice my life to save another.
I read the rest of what you wrote, but you'd need to expand on your whole "taking the narrative seriously" point. Seems tertiary to the point we're arguing.
The NDA said that they are not allowed to tell people, that after 2-3 hours, the whole game is just like the old Core Tomb Raider titles and those first hours were just a messed up dream Lara had.

They didn't agree to the terms because they weren't able to write in their review that for most of the game you play as Raiden.

Apparently people like you are the only ones who were able to see the true game even if they also haven't even touched it yet.
haha, I won't necessarily do that, although I would argue that my position is more ethically defensible.
Basically I have a problem with the notion that once someone intends to "murder/rape/pillage", they forfeit their moral value as human beings. In my opinion, they still retain their value, despite their questionable actions. If possible, killing another human being (no matter their past moral actions) should be avoided at all costs and I bet that Lara in a possible narrative would be able to avoid many of these murders, yet still resolve the conflicts or her tribulations.
You could stop acting like being pessimistic about a game isn't valid because they haven't played it yet.
The same could be said of you. You haven't played it yet so how can you say the game is good? Or be so optimistic about it?
You either like what you see or you don't like what you see. You aren't going to convince anyone to flip their beliefs around by making comments like the above.
I smh at these kinds of comments more than I smh at anything else. Well, except people who think this game getting 90's from places like IGN suddenly redeems the game.

There seems to be a group of people that are actively rooting for games to be awful these days. I feel like I have been having a "I'm too old for this shit" moment in regard to games the last few months because of the cynicism I see here.
