It's perfectly playable in single-player. In fact, you can unlock more AI partners, each with his or her own fighting style, as you play through the game.

AI partners? Oh god nooooo.

Glad you guys are excited but multi or AI partners? Can't think of a game that has ever required that, that I don't hate.

Is there a finite amount of times that you can download/transfer a game on your Vita? I was planning on deleting some PSN games that I had on there to make room for some games I just bought but I don't want to screw myself over by not being able to redownload them in there future.

:/ This months sound like a huge wasteland with only MaxicoVania and Textures Sacrifice that might worth getting.

Sony,this is bad.

So the game isn't really made with single player in mind? Bummer.

It's perfectly playable on singleplayer as far as the demo indicates (you can bring AI teammates as well, but for non-story missions they are optional as far as I can tell).

EDIT: Beaten lol.

You can delete/download a purchased games as many times as you'd like.

Well, it's not like you have to use AI partners. If you die in battle though, the AI partners are basically your second life. They can choose to save you (revive you at a cost to their remaining HP) or sacrifice you (use a strong spell against a monster). You'll definitely want some sort of partner for the majority of the game.

One of the things that distinguish Soul Sacrifice from similar games such as MH is its focus on teamwork (saving/sacrificing teammates). If that doesn't appeal to you, you should probably avoid the game.

You're safe. Just remind to save your games to PC or cloud in case you have PSN+ so you won't lose your save games.

Bioshock Infinite? xD But i'm not sure if i could call that AI partner. xP

Nice thread.
It's going to be a mostly dead month for me until Soul Sacrifice comes out, but luckily I got the demo for it and Senran Kagura next week to keep me company until then.

Also, I approve of the Hikage import header.

It's a boss hunting game.
The first few levels will have you fighting small enemies, but most of them will involve you and a friend or two trying to take down a large monster in an enclosed arena (with smaller monsters also joining in the fight). You are rewarded with spells for completing missions and fulfilling certain objectives (spells are your weapons and items in this game).

The combat is fairly fast-paced and fluid. Much more so then MH.
The X button allows you to sprint, roll, and interact with things.
The L button allows you to lock on to monsters.
R swaps between your two spell loadouts (see below).

You can assign three spells of your choice to the square, triangle and circle buttons before missions. During combat, all you do to activate the spell is press the assigned button.
The effect of spells vary:
-Some activate immediately when you press the button.
-Some can be charged until you release the button for an amplified effect.
-Some transform you/arm you with a weapon.
-Some bestow a certain effect upon your for a limited time, like invincible rolls.
All spells have limited usage and eventually will become unusable. You can restore them through certain means, but I don't understand enough Japanese to give any specifics.

Once you kill a monster, you are given two choices to level yourself up:
-Press and hold L to Save a monster, boosting your Defense and Healing ability.
-Press and hold R to Sacrifice a monster, boosting your Attack.
You can focus on either or maintain a sort of balance between the two types of EXP.

There's more to it, but that's stuff you can look up on your own if the above interests you.

Wow, this seems like a great overview. Thanks. I always understood it was "similar" to MH, but the spells and "level up" sounds cool.

If you see something wrong or wish for something to be added, politely ask and I shall do so!

Can you please remove the P3P part from the first post?it's an opinion that not everyone here agree(not just me) on and the OT should be a neutral zone with no forced opinions on it.

Ah, I dont know, I didnt know its similar to MH and Ragnarok, I thought it was more folklore, Im still interested but will see reviews.

Yeah, I'd say out of all the MH clones, it's closest to God Eater in terms of concept.
Characters are mobile and have a variety of ranged and melee options based on their spells. Environments have spots that you can gather materials from, and are about the size of the average God Eater stage (maybe smaller).

Of course, I'm basing all of this off of a demo in a language that I can't read, so I'm sure there's more to it.

Has anyone reported this yet?

Muramasa Limited Edition

Muramasa Rebirth, the ultimate limited edition set ishere. This exclusive edition comes with a customdesigned PS Vita face cover, PS Vita Skin featuring artfrom the game, a PS Vita drawstring pouch and anMuramasa lithograph drawn by George Kamitani, creator of Muramasa Rebirth.

I skipped P4G limited edition set but this sounds pretty swank.

Sony,this is bad.

It's pretty bare across all platforms though, really. :/ Injustice is the only non-Vita game I'll be getting.

Hopefully we get some indie releases this or next month, too.

Great new thread. OT is concise and informative, great job Grim.
I've been renewing my Hot Shots love affair since the new update. As usual, I bought to many games throughout the year and never gave it the attention it deserves. Without a doubt the toughest Hot Shots yet.

Shouldn't the latest FW update have to fix issues with NLKS?
Booted up that little fucker (PSN EU version) after a kinda long time just to play 20 minutes then had console freeze pressing the PS button, forced reboot, and game save corrupted with all progress lost (@ 4th princess) and no save data backup online because I thought it was automatic with PLUS, instead I had to choose which game I wanted to...
Not feeling to start over again...

Happened to me last week. Lost progress in Untold Legends (3hrs) and in Ninja Gaiden+ (2hrs). Definitely not going to pick up Ninja Gaiden again...

Can't decide whether to go digital or physical with SS, hmmm. Well if there's the digital discount I'll just go with that.

Yea, New Thread. Just finished Machinarium, and it is such a great game. Makes me wish the other games the Developer has made would come over as well.

I will buy a vita once I'll be able to play ps2 games on it.

Good luck with that!

I found a tiny hairline scratch right in the center of my vita while playing P4G Y.Y I have a hori screen protector on it so hopefully it's on the surface and will go away once I replace it with a new one. Til then, my OCD will drive me insane. I baby this little bastard too much but after investing 500+ into it, who wouldn't?

I'm thinking of picking up a pinball game, and I've never really played before. Which of the two on the Vita is better -- Zen Pinball or Pinball Arcade?

Gotta thank PS+ for getting me into Disgaea 3. Never would have played it otherwise and I'm really digging it. And I needed something after P4G!

Nice thread, Grim.

Thomas Was Alone and Guacamelee for me. Actually INCREDIBLY excited for both of those. Soul Sacrifice is a maybe but I doubt it.

Oh, and I'm definitely going to do this challenge!

PA is the better game, the only downside is that the developer is horrible and usually breaks stuff retroactively. ZP is uninspired but very polished, all their tables are pretty meh and the physics are horrible por a pinball game.

and I thought I was doing good on my cutting back... I think my number is lower than the previous thread though so everyone else was just lower.

oh well my number should be down a bit for this month's thread as I have a job now :P

anyways the vita really needs an itadaki street game on it :/

Great thread, Grim! After the small fortune I spent in March, this month will probably be a lot lighter. Just Guacamelee and Soul Sacrifice for me. I've had this system for only 3 months, and already have a ridulous backlog - with more games still to be bought like Rayman, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and Gods Eater Burst, just to name a few!

Soul Sacrifice. I am excited for sure. I really am crossing my fingers for PSO 2 NA/EU.

I highly doubt it.

get Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure.

They're both good choices. I prefer Pinball Arcade slightly, because it features real tables and the physics are more realistic, but Zen Pinball has a lot more variety. Zen Pinball also looks really amazing. Pinball Arcade on the other hand looks like a disgusting heap of blurry low resolution garbage.
