If affleck looks good as batman in teaser and trailer, then marvel will move. Batman vs superman is a comic book fan fantasy no way even marvel would put even avengers against it nomatter how it would end up in the end
If Marvel (theoretically) put Avengers on that date, DC would move. Batman/Superman will be big, but Avengers is bigger.

Makes sense. 2015 is a bloodbath and they probably need all the time they can get to get their shit in order. Also, it's a good strategic date. Usually Marvel releases something around that time. Maybe WB knows that they don't have to compete with a theoretical IM4 or Thor 3 and hedged their bets.

That must be The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

It was originally scheduled for Friday May 1st, but I can't see a movie that big wanting to open on a friday. May 6, 2015 is a Wednesday, so that makes more sense.

The only movie Marvel has on the books for 2016 is Doctor Strange, and there is no confirmed set date for that.

Guys just calm down. They are going need just a little more time to make sure they completely fuck this up.

Wow. Considering the slew of casting announcements, I would've sworn they were about to shoot. But I suppose this makes sense. 2015 is looking impenitrable for non-franchise films, hopefully this eases the scope. Curious who will grab the open weekend slot now.

There were rumors gestating yesterday on other sites that Affleck broke his leg. Nothing was confirmed, but strangely it appeared people knew there was a delay announcement coming. Bummer.

Hope they seriously reconsider this movie, it could be huge or it could be a disaster, glad they pushed it back

It is MoS 2

It's not. it's Superman vs Batman.

I personally would like a Superman focused sequel, with Batman appearing right at the end (or in post credits). I want the focus on Superman one more time.

If the end product is like that, sweet. But people love Batman, and I assume we will get a big ole helping of it. Plus Wonder woman. Maybe the balance will be right, I am hoping.

We shall see. I look forward to what they got.

There is a rumour going around that Affleck is injured, probably one of the reasons.
Hopefully this means the movie is getting reworked and finger's crossed, less of a chance of it being shit.

It will now bow on Mothers’ Day weekend and is playing chicken with Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse which comes only a week after. Talk about pushing a monster on your tail end. As it stands now, it will be Superman/Batman, X-Men the following weekend and followed quickly by The Amazing Spiderman 3 from Sony.

ohhhh. someone got to blink, I take Spiderman 3 as the punk

Huh...I thought they already started shooting with the Gotham vs Metropolis football crowd.

That was only bit they shot, and it was just of the football field/crowd. Shooting with the cast and such was supposed to start in the next couple weeks.

Affleck will be fine, but they need to fire the Wonder Woman chick and replace her with a legitimate actress. I don't mind them hiring a beanpole, but it at least needs to be a beanpole that can act.

It amuses me you think this. The two biggest iconic comic book characters in history in the same live action movie for the first time and you believe anything Marvel can do would top it is hilarious. BvS could be a total shitfest and it would still do better than any Avengers movie.

Have we seen anything from Gadot as Wonder Woman yet?
How do you even know that she's going to be terrible?

I feel like the main reason for the delay is because they realize how CG heavy the movie will be and don't want to rush post production on the movie.

I feel like this is probably true as well which is why production is getting pushed back as well.

So Disney/Marvel are going to dominate the summer blockbusters 2 years in a role (2014-2015). C'mon Warner Bros/DC, get your shit together!

Oh wow, completely forgot about the other studios as I was only focusing on Marvel/Disney. So 2016 is still kinda packed there with comic films, not to mention whatever Disney still has planned for that weekend/month.

Going to be interesting.

Totally, like TDKR..... oh wait......... or like MoS?........... nevermind

Good.

Now just get rid of Batman.

This film was always intended to be a Superman/Batman film. I don't know why some people here seem to think its Man of Steel 2. That would be separate.

Honestly at this point I wish they would just drop Snyder and get a director to make a straight up Justice League movie. Dispense with the buildup and just get right to it.

What world do you live in? Avengers making billions had nothing to do with the comic book characters being popular or iconic.

Age of Ultron is 2015. That untitled movie is 2016.

my quote caught the edit of that post I quoted which said May 6th, 2105, which I took to mean 2015 which is a Wednesday. A2:AoU was originally scheduled for Fri 5/1/2015, I thought the date must have changed.

but May 6th 2016 is also a Friday. That could be for Doctor Strange.

I don't believe Superman was in TDKR. I also don't recall Batman in MoS so I don't see what your point is.

His point is that Marvel has been pushing DC's shit in over the years without fail. They don't have shit to be worried about.

And putting these two together does not equal guaranteed box office records.

Maybe, but remember that this isn't classic iconic Reeve and Bale, its Cavill and Affleck.
