Well back in October he was over at MGSforums and started hinting about knowing a release window but couldn't tell anyone, saying that he was told they were planning to reveal it with a P.T-esque puzzle later in the year.

That was me, I was told that they're planning a cryptic puzzle thing for the phantom pains release date, similarly to PT. Doesn't mean it's necessarily anything to do with gameplay, could be anything really. Here's hoping though

As much as I want the game to be out ASAP. I think the hold has a big part to do with the open world aspect of it. Testing a linear game like MGS4 is pretty simple, but with an open world where you can accomplish a mission in so many different ways, they have to make sure the game doesn't break.

Ground Zeroes had a few glitches but nothing like AC:Unity. I'd rather they do proper QA for the game instead of putting it out for the cash grab and apologize later (Ubisoft).

Kojima said he hopes that game will be talked about 10 years after release. That can only happen if people are focused on the awesome story and gameplay and not the game-breaking bugs and glitches.

Hey, guys, while this likely means nothing, GameStop has changed its placeholder release from 12/31/14 to 3/31/15. While this is very likely still a placeholder, it falls on a Tuesday. It's not confirmation of anything, for sure, but I thought I'd mention that it has changed very recently, as I keep track of it (sadly) quite often.

- perhaps rather than hinting a 22nd of June release date he is hinting that a release date could be given on Christmas Day.
