Just collaborate with an artist, so togashi just deals with story and name
Something similar to what one is doing with yusuke murata

This is the hiatus that never ends.
It goes on and on my friends.
Togashi started drawing not know how to end.
So then he took a break and that is how this is the hiatus never ends.

just collab with Yusuke Murata or Takeshi Obata please!!

I hope this doesn't become berserk's boat trip v2 ;_;

Anyone new who really wants to get into HxH should just watch the anime and pretend the series ended there. It provided closure on the initial driving force and you don't have to suffer like the rest of us.

Berserk and HxH fans know nothing about waiting. The last Bastard!! chapter was 6-7 years ago. Before that Hagiwara had released 4-5 chapters over 5 years.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

Yeah well sometimes not getting something is actually better than getting it. I had to read several terrible Dune novels to finish that series and I felt it would have been better just left unfinished.

This is sad, but hopefully his illness is on the upswing. His recent comments have been mostly encouraging. He's doing physical therapy and getting the help he needs it seems.

His latest chapters were all terrific. I'm certain where we end up will be worth the wait.

At this point why don't they just make Hunter x Hunter monthly! It'd give him more time to work on each chapter and reduce his workload while still allowing it to come out on a more consistent basis

I can't say that I'm not going to miss it, but it feels petty to complain about it. Nothing is more important than a person's health or leading the kind of life they want, work like this is secondary and we're not really owed anything.

A few reasons for that.

A) That would likely mean moving publications. Weekly SJ is a weekly magazine that publishes weekly series. Shueisha has monthly publications, but they are less popular and Hunter x Hunter is a heavy hitter for WSJ so why bother?

B) The expected length of a chapter for a monthly is significantly longer. Go read a chapter of Blue Exorcist or JoJo and compare it to your typical HxH chapter. Readers would likely not enjoy getting an equivalent of a weekly story released monthly. If you increased it to monthly length, you'd lose a lot of that decreased workload.

C) Most importantly, we don't know the pace he works on these chapters. The first chapter we got after the hiatus might have been written a year ago. He's probably working at the pace he's able to work already. Going monthly would spread the story out and may hide the hiatus, but you aren't going to get him going at a faster pace.

So I guess I can check out the new chapters now. Didn't doubt for a second it would go on break. So I guess enough came out to fill a new volume right? Pretty much what was assumed would happen?

get some go again
at least he ended the chrollo and hisoka fight. imagine if he had gone on hiatus before showing us the climax.

Hopefully he gets better, the man gave me/us yu yu hakusho.

I never knew he was in this bad of a condition, just thought it was a sort of joke and little colds.

Thursdays are going to be depressing with HxH on hiatus and Bleach ending soon. I may have to get into One Piece or Toriko or anything good and released consistenlty
The next two big battle shonen mangas from jump are my hero academia and black clover (fucking amazing), add those to your list.

Bastard is terrible though.
And I liked reading it, but it's not like there's anything resembling a plot anymore. It was just hentai of Porno Dianno.

Berserk and HxH still might go somewhere. Maybe.

Why can't he draw a little slower and just release monthly issues? :/

Switching to monthly doesn't make sense.

That's increasing his workload along with a slightly longer deadline. Monthly publications are usually in the 40+ pages

Get better soon, Togashi.
However, I can't keep this thought out of my mind: "If you're going to constatly have hiatuses, why not just end HxH?"

Togashi please. Just get someone to draw and oversee the story and watch your health...

Now we ended in another cliffhanger.

Knew it was coming, that's why I didn't even bother reading the latest chapters

I do hope he's alright though, have they diagnosed him him with anything? His pain seems to severe for a normal sickness/pain

Thank god I didn't read the new chapters. I will keep this on backlog until it ends.
I will never read it again

What chapters do the 6 OVAs cover?

Ain't that the truth. I went on a tear through the Dune novels one year and my GF was nice enough to buy me Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune. I couldn't even finish the first one :(

Read Toriko. It also appears to be entering the endgame, but I find it to be an extremely enjoyable battle shonen, that actually scratched many of the same itches Hunter x Hunter did for me. The way the world building is done in Toriko (especially prior to the timeskip) really did remind me of HxH. There is even narration that is done in a similar style to explain all the crazy environments, creatures, and feats. It definitely feels like the author of Toriko got a lot of influence from Togashi.

The only real weakness of the series is the crazy pacing later on in the story. Mitsutoshi must be getting pressured to wrap it up. But even still, this manga escalates like nothing I've ever seen. Before HxH came back it was the series I looked most forward to reading each week. Insane creatures, insane environments, insane feats, and this may make or break it for some, insane powercreep. I was not expecting the creatures and characters in Toriko to become so absurdly powerful, that DBZ comparisons would be completely apt. Some of the feats in this series are simply mind-boggling, and I love it.

Also, the Gourmet World is as close as we're getting to the Dark Continent for some time lol.

That'd be the typical rate, but it's the damn author of HxH, I'm sure they'd be fine with him releasing 23 page chapters as long as he's actually releasing something.
