To start, a link to my other Sonic R/LTTPs:

Sonic Unleashed Wii

So, I finally decided to go ahead and start this one up. It seems... okay. Pretty much an extension of the Rush games, far as I can tell. It's kind of hard to react to much, and the game seems you to want to boost a lot (admittedly I may be boosting too much and making the first problem worse). Though it'll be interesting to see how the levels open up with Wisps. Not sure I feel like doing the side missions or red rings here, but I guess I'll see as I progress. Right now I've finished off the first 3 areas, so I'm already pretty deep in the game I guess.

Oh, and Chaos Emeralds are SO easy to get in this game. They really should have that special stage running faster. I do like the idea that the "challenge" comes from avoiding knocking off the other colors when you may need them later, but it's just too easy to matter.

Also, I don't really like the Burst Wisp that's exclusive to this version. Just doesn't feel that great to use.

never played the DS one but it looked good from all the vids i saw of it
cant wait til you get to sonic colors wii

Its not bad! I dunno, its a bit too "Rush without the visual flair" to make it really exciting, but using the wisps in later stages is pretty fun imo.
You can definitely do worse with this series as some of Boogiepop's previous LTTPs have attested to

Solid game, the bosses were pretty pathetic though in comparison to Rush Adventure.
Rush Adventure also had a better true final boss. Shmup or not, Egg Wizard is legit

I thought it was a pretty awesome game.

A bit short though, but still pretty decent.

Hated those levels with the T-Rex head that chases you and insta-kills you.
It's damn hard to see where you've gotta slide when you're full-on Bursting.
Lost quite a few lives getting through that. :(

Had some pretty decent music, too. Too bad unlocking the tunes required you get the Red Rings.

truthfact: secret best special stage music in the series
I'd say perhaps top 3. But still great music.

Overall, it's okay. It felt like Sonic Rush: Colors Edition. It was nice to have additional missions & finding those red rings (even if some were a pain to discover), but I will admit the final boss
with Super Sonic & that mother wisp
was rather "meh". At the very least
it actually HAD a Super Sonic battle/ending compared to the console version. Only thing that bummed me out....

That portion was well-done IMO. And lives were plentiful as the game was on the easy side and they were given out like candy.

Hated it since you had very little time to react, meaning you basically had to know when you needed to slide or you'd run straight into the platform and get eaten.

But you're right about lives being given out like candy.

And I've beaten the game, "true" final boss included. Clocked in at just over 2 and a half hours so yeah, not a long game. It was pretty decent, I guess. I've decided for now I'll save the red ring collecting for whenever I feel like revisiting the game.

Final thoughts are that it's a shame Terminal Velocity also isn't a proper stage here, it's lame that they shoved a Chaos Emerald into the multiplayer versus mode and made me fight a CPU to get it, and the "secret" final boss felt extra lame and phoned in.
