Sorry, I am just desperately trying to find reasons to post in NX threads.
My avatar contains the secrets to NX. If you stare at it long enough, all will be revealed.

Ya know, I thought this was just a joke...but then I looked at your avatar...and I kept looking...until I fell asleep...then remebered the rumored sleep device...then I posted this replay in my dreams...then I realized....NX is literally dreams...and then...I slept...forever...My avatar contains the secrets to NX. If you're looking for pure info there's nothing new of value.Jesus H. Christ Superstar.
A new (for me) NX thread on GAF that's two days old and it's on page 20. I read the OP, can anyone tell me if anything new happened in the last 19 pages since then so I can be like the cool kids and be up to date?
*looks at latest rumors*
Man, you guys are getting desperate.
The adaptation rate is also much lower early on, generally speaking. When you owned a 2500 PC in 1985 or a VCR or largescreen tv, chances were you'd be the only one in the street... yet everybody owned a NES. So that argument still doesn't hold much water in this case. And gaming hardware wasn't something new when the NES launched either.

I hope most of this is cleared up by this time next week

I'm hoping for peanut flavor, personally.
If NX will be 300 AUD, it won't be that bad.
"The console will have a portable aspect to it but not in the way people think"
Then what it is ? It's a Wii U Gamepad ? A NeoGeo cartridge with a screen ? An Atari 5200 with a screen ? A Galaxy Note 7 with a non explosive battery ?
*looks at post*
Man, you are getting disparate.

AMD HSA has _nothing_ to do with x86 / ARM. Just saying.10k has been had again
I would buy this console, at $299.99. I'm a gamer and a Nintendo fan, so why not. I got heart, my balls have dropped. Man up and play with power. This will be the ultimate nostalgic moment in the history of gaming.

You're practically arguing that because it was successful and not extremely expensive NES wasn't a relatively new tech on the market.
Yeah, this. You can convince yourselves all you like that hardware performance is the only thing standing between Nintendo consoles and getting every AAA multiplatform game, but it's simply not even close to true.

Exactly my point. They did that once, with Wii U. With great success. Surely they will try it again.
I see that we're back to the idea that Nintendo has to solve all its problems at once or it shouldn't bother.
Nintendo can't exactly solve its demographic problem if it can't provide an equivalent experience to other hardware makers, so solving that before bringing in hardware parity is useless.
Nintendo can't exactly entice 3rd-parties without parity in hardware to bring its multiplatform projects to it.
Bringing hardware parity, in the interim while they resolve these other issues, does the following:
1) Provides a benefit to Nintendo's internal developers due to fewer hardware restrictions
2) At least begins the process of rebuilding the notions of what Nintendo's brand values are in the minds of consumers
3) Provides 3rd-party developers a platform to bring their multiplat projects to the platform that already align with Nintendo's demographics and weren't released because of hardware parity issues or provides a wider sales audience (see: Sonic Generations, Japanese 3rd-parties in general)
So, if you're going to pick a starting point for fixing this problem, it's probably best to pick the one that stands in the way of resolving all the others and has an immediate short-term benefit on top of that.
But of course, people are stuck in the mindset that if it doesn't immediately resolve the problem in its entirety, it's a completely useless endeavour and they shouldn't even bother. Because THAT is certainly a sure way to deal with a mountain of issues: ALL AT ONCE. *eyeroll*

There's so many bad games in this post that I hope motion gaming is killed for goodI actually hope the detachable controllers and them being motion-based are true, since that would mean legit Wiimote successors right out the box, and that means Wii-level stuff coming back and maybe even better than before.
For example, hopefully Sega can bring back Sega Bass Fishing, and maybe Samba de Amigo again. They did on Wii, but they didn't reach their full potential, and both could've benefited from Motion+ which came out after both games IIRC. They can also bring back Super Monkey Ball with Banana Blitz's tilting as well which was A LOT of fun.
Hell I would actually like to see a legit Sonic and the Secret Rings 2 even.

I tried the ps vr yesterday and the graphic seems a lot poor than I through, esp the drive club. I understand it's because the need to generate 90 frame to smooth the experience.
If the NX can support VR somehow, like low end Gear VR. can they somehow make use the technology of the 3ds screens? by this way, the processing power may be not that demanding.
with the rumoured 1) detachable controller, 2) hybrid mode (TV + mobile) and 3) low end vr support (wireless)
Everything seems worth the money and quite attracting to public market
It was so weird, on paper that list makes me giddy. Hell, Wii also got a port of Jambo Safari of all games! (Olli King with balance board support was sorely missed.)There's so many bad games in this post that I hope motion gaming is killed for good

The NX...
NeXt Week
It's crazy how this will finally be the week
for which the "next week" for NX news will be true since the investors meeting will happen
The NeXt weak console from Nintendo?
You lasted way longer than me, but welcome to the club nonethelessI don't even enjoy NX speculation anymore, it makes me tired and confused
Nintendo have broken me
There's so many bad games in this post that I hope motion gaming is killed for good
Plus SSX and Okami, don't forget about Okami.**** you. FPSers, driving, sports and the zelda games(TP and SS) are amazing with motion controls.
You're just losing track of the original discussion and argument. Which was about how expensive hardware can be. You asked which Nintendo console "ever" cost more than 300 bucks/euro... and due to the discussion being about value in the first place, well, the NES was launched costing more than 300 dollars compared to todays value.
Now, you can beat around the bush, about the tech being "newer" then (or more novel at least), but that doesn't change anything about the initial discusion. Either you were arguing semantics, or you were arguing about the value/cost, in which case you need to take into account inflation. Simple as that. You can argue that the reason why the NES still sold, was due to it still being novel, console hardware as a whole, but that doesn't change the fact that somebody paid a lot more money for a NES in '85, than he will be paying for an NX in 2016 even if it costs over 300.
Wrong.
just read the 10k "leaks".
I laughed at RAM wont be an issue and a better CPU than PS4 lol.
