Mass Effect 3: Earth Multi DLC (July 17, Free) - 3 Maps, 6 Classes, Platinum Mode

That has to be a gross exaggeration, right? What can you possibly still have left to unlock after paying the first, I don't know, $300, even with below-average luck? Especially since presumably he's also actually playing the game and earning credits that you can use to buy more packs?
I wish I was lying. I mentioned this before in a F2P thread when he was at $2,000. He recently told me he is now at $3,000. I'm sure even more by now. I learned that they are called "whales", in that thread and they are a big part of these kinds of business, which is basically gambling.

EA/Bioware are so smart for taking this road for their MP, from a business standpoint. I haven't spent a dime on it but imagine how many people are like "I'll try one pack for $2.00". And you want to call the game F2P with them giving all these map packs/character packs away for free but it's not if you consider that you had to pay an initial $60+ to get in. Pure genius.

Please tell me this is an exaggeration.

Also, are there any other PC players that are having issues with the game's netcode? The lag is horrendous. It's gotten to the point where I will only host games now, I don't remember the last game I joined that didn't have very noticeable lag.

I get laggy games on PC, but not that often. Most of the time its due to my shitty internet more than anything else.

Well if they hadn't screwed up the ending with good ole Mac Walters and his "speculation" shit they wouldn't have had to do a free EC (that didn't fix a thing in my books). They didn't "choose" to do the EC they had no choice if they wanted to salvage the franchise. But this is a topic for another day.

I think we can easily see where Biowares focus is with Mass Effect 3 what with them tripping over themselves to release MP DLC and punishing players that only want to play the single player part of the game.

Obviously it must be profitable for them, if they want to keep doing this. So who am I to argue with the almighty dollar ...... it's not like they are "artists" with "integrity".

How are fans of the single player being punished?

They are working on single player DLC. Im sure time was taken away from working on that to do the expanded endings DLC.

I'm gonna start playing the MP again now that I'm about to be done with my 2nd run of the game (fucking amazing). I need to get those readiness ratings up.

I remember that, the little MP I played before, was great.

So he's either N7 level 10,000 or he's really mad that Bioware didn't implement the "no character cards after five customization options" policy a LOT sooner

This might push me over the edge to finally get Gold. I had a code for 2 free days laying around and I had a blast. But what a shame that the cards are so expensive comapred to that dashboard I offer I recently saw (2€ a month). But for that I'd need to give them my credit card number...

I love this MP model so much - others are paying so the rest of us don't have to pay a cent, and from the numerous experiences I've read from since launch, they definitely made more money this way than paying for each DLC as packs.

Love it, because as much as I enjoy the MP, I definitely would not have paid a cent to buy DLC maps, characters and the like.

Cool, some new dlc. I would have liked to see some more alien(drell to be precise) characters but this will do for now.
I have a low n7 rank of 270 and have all the guns outside the ultra rares ranked 10. Never bought a single pack with real money.

Via Something Awful/BioWare Forums: http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh...69248&pagenumber=571&perpage=40#post405462143

New game mode confirmed: Platinum

(Adept) N7 Fury: Throw, Annihilation Field, Dark Channel

(Soldier) N7 Destroyer: Multi-Frag Grenade, Missile Launcher, Devastator Mode, T5-V battlesuit? http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-stare.gif

(Engineer) N7 Demolisher: Homing Grenade, Arc Grenade, Supply Pylon

(Sentinel) N7 Paladin: Snap Freeze, Incinerate, Energy Drain

(Infiltrator) N7 Shadow: Tactical Cloak, Shadow Strike, Electric Slash

(Vanguard) N7 Slayer: Phase Disruptor, Biotic Charge, Biotic Slash, has a guddam sword *is Kai Leng I'm assuming* (Nirolak's Note: That is their assumption, not mine, but they do seem to have a Cerberus sword and be a biotic)

Fury: "Fury operatives use implants to fuel biotics and their incredible
movement speed. These operatives wind an unpredictable path on the
battlefield, moving in and out of combat before returning to unleash a
sweeping biotic attack on their unsuspecting targets."

Destroyer: "The Destroyer's T5-V Battlesuit gives these strong-but-slow
soldiers mech-like protection. Driven by eezo-assisted actuators, these
frontline troopers carry heavy weapons onto the battlefield."

Demolisher: "The Demolisher uses grenades to attack at range and to
terrorize the battlefield. Demolishers can also create a supply pylon
that stocks allies with an unending reserve of grenades and thermal
reloads."

Paladin: "The Paladin carries a powerful omni-shield onto the
battlefield to block enemy fire. The Paladin also uses the shield as a
heavy-melee weapon that, when modified with incindiery or cryo upgrades,
creates a devastating combination attack."

Shadow: "Shadow infiltrators use implants to dramatically improve
agility, making them slippery combatants on the battlefield. Their
monomolecular blades are a menace from cover and close range."

Slayer: "Slayers use implants to dramatically improve mobility. Their
dizzying sword attacks can hit multiple opponents, and the Slayer's
ability to slip fire makes them hard to pin down on the battielfield."

I really like how they're giving a lot of DLC away for free. In my opinion DLC should be like "Would you like another slice of pie?" as opposed to "Would you like the rest of your pie?"

I've done nothing with my life except eat and fap
ok, I'm back in the game.

Might also complete the new ending playthrough while I'm at it.

You pay for the DLC with the time spent getting credits versus doing something else :p

Holy jumpin...

I can see buying a pack or two for the hell of it if you have the extra points sitting around.

But 3k+? Wow.

Might take another look, I really enjoyed my time with the MP until I reached the 'everything is a character card' point.

With how many weapons there are now, the likelihood of upgrading any of my stuff from a couple months ago seems pretty damn low

So the rumors before was right again, new human classes kind of looking ridiculous to me. This should also be the last DLC pack for ME3 Multiplayer as far as I remember the rumor went, as they are focusing on "Leviathan" DLC now.

This DLC will be free like all the others, but hopefully that earlier PSN leak indicates an Earth Pack will go up on the same day.

I really need to get into ME3 multiplayer. I've promised myself several times I would, but I've yet to touch it since release.

Think this might be thing that pushes me towards it.

I loved the MP for the first month or so, but the unlock system really killed it for me after a while. I just want to try out some new characters without having to buy (with credits of course) 20 spectre packs. They should really separate equipment and characters or find another way to keep interested people that just want to play casually.
