Still think its an undignified way of flying...
I am badmouthing none of those things
Make sure it's ability isn't klutz.I just randomly clicked this thread for whatever reason and...
brb gonna research movesets and ev train a Golurk later. Damn you pokegaf!
Also Vanillite-line aren't actually "soft". When you remove the snow "cream" you'll see the actual head of Vanillite-lines.
They're bald.
...wut?

DP and BW had an inflation of legendaries in general, but there's no way they'll be going back to just 5 or 6. They usually like to have one event Legendary every year, and now that they won't be leaked right after the main game release for the first time, there's no way they'll be dropping that idea. that by itself should mean around 10 legendaries by the end of the generation and that's if they cut down on the number of initial legendaries, which seems unlikely to me.
I mean, a trio and two legends, one per version, might sound good, but they'll need at least a third one for the third version or sequels. They also like to leave some legends for the post game. Gold and Silver just let the player get the other version's legend in a very high level, but the later games just had standalone legends for that purpose, and I don't see them going back on that.
No....no..this can't be...NOOOOOOOOO
...wut?
I wouldn't mind legendaries if it weren't for the fact that all Gen 4 and 5 legendaries were terrible.

STAHP!SPOILER:Their ears are fake too.
There's a scan somewhere showing official art of Vanillite losing the snow and revealing itself to be a bald icicle.
Ugh I hate this. Pokemon should not be trying to be "cool and edgy" in the DBZ/Yugi-oh/13 year old boy sense.
The older games were very lighthearted and didn't take themselves very seriously. They should scale back. The story should be about a young trainer striving to be a champion and catch them all, not about fighting teams bent on world domination or legendary GOD SPACE TIME JET PLANE legendaries.
All whilst being followed by your pokémon

Artwork for the starters and legendaries is here.

Bigger versions up to 2700wide at the link.[/QUOTE]
Both of the legendaries are S Rank this time. So damn good.
I don't know if Game Freak will ever do something like this themselves, but I'd play something like a RGB gaiden with more focus on the trainer's life and such. Pokémon themselves have never really interested me; the human characters seem to have a lot of potential for story development, which I think has been under-utilized. I do wonder how one would make a side-story mainline game as mechanically-immersive as the main game. Maybe more focus on contests and side-events with greater complexity than in the main versions? As much as I'd love a more realistic spin-off of pokemon I'd also love it if the mainline games stopped with all the world domination stuff and focused more on the trainer and their life. Something more personal and human really but keeping it light hearted as you said.
And with an actual story line that didn't require beating any gyms.
Not out of the woods yet... now explain their names.
All the awards.

An object's name is not inherent to the object itself and is usually assigned by humans arbitrarily based upon numerous factors, such as physical resemblance to another thing.
'A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.'
Some names won't make sense then, since how do people know a "rat" is?
Also that's just borderline pokemon eating
Yikes. Now I'm curious what a shaved Finnekin looks like.
smoked Magikarp is pretty good

injurai said:The problem was after 3rd gen, they strayed away from mythological and elementally powerful legendaries. We got these weird "gods" that turned into a DBZ-like pissing contest of how powerful can we depict these primal beasts...
I really want a return to more grounded mythological creatures than those strange esoteric entities.
Hey now, Victini, Heatran, Zekrom, Genesect and maybe Cobalion are cool.

Yeah this is very true. EVs should be taught somewhere, so why not a sidequest? I shouldn't've had to learn about them second hand two gens later from someone who is addicted to Smogon.Yeah, I want it to focus more on trainer life. Possibly even have you Breed and EV train a certain pokemon to complete some in game event for challenge. I just feel so many of the mechanics are in the background, but there is not story mechanic that brings them into the for front.
With a little more than 750 Pokémon and more than 600 moves that would make 450,000+ different animations. It's a bit much to hope for.
Not really.
If you plan things out correctly it's very doable for a company as big as Nintendo and GF. Not every Pokemon is unique in body shape so it's logical that there would be tons of overlap.
You also have to remember that not every Pokémon can learn each move. Also, some moves can be the same for all if them like sound-based ones.
It's still a pipedream though.
He's cooking delicious jelly donuts. You always see Brock cooking, but do they ever explain what it is?
I haven't watched any of the anime since Gen 1. =/SM:TV 4 LIFE
if he's God how the fuck can you catch in a little ball and make it do what you want?
Anyway, I'm really glad the bird and the stag legendaries look more like Ho-oh and Lugia than some space-ripping time-stopping iron fighter jet dinosaur.
you could also group pokemon together on body types
pichu, pikachu, raichu, minun, pulsle would all share their animation sets.
this could be done with most of the pokemon in the game.
Victini is fine, Heatran is great but I don't know if it's considered strictly legendary, Zekrom and Genesect are terrible sorry.
Agree completely. The whole "pokemon as deities" angle is terrible. Legendaries should just be rare pokemon with folk legends around them, or alternatively one a kind pokemon like Mewtwo.
I don't really mind the deities angle too much but they are WAY too easy to capture to actually seem like deities and have way too little effect on the world. Shouldn't there be an entire religion based around Arceus? Or Groundon/Kyogre? If they showed up in an area shouldn't that radically change pokemon society?
lol nope, just gunna capture them like an Oddish.
So yeah I prefer the folk legends stuff.

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.I'd actually prefer them as either "Bosses" or NPCs.
Officially, you can't. They had an event item programmed that would lead to a battle against Arceus, but they never officially released it. The only way to actually get Arceus is from events, so you never actually "capture" it in combat.
As much as you dislike the designs of the 5th gens though, they aren't like the 4th gen ones. 3rd gen had Pokemons creating continents and oceans, and 4th gen had time, space and creation itself, but fifth gen just has two pokemon creating an ancient kingdom. They weren't really trying to "top" previous legends by that point.
Speaking about the 5th gen, they left a big gap there with Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem all originally being a single Pokemon, but even in Black and White 2 fusing all three is impossible, just Kyurem and one of the others. We'll likely see their original completely combined form at some point...
Have these already been posted?
I agree Gen 4 is the worst offender, not Gen 5. But Zekrom and Reshiram look even worse than Gen IV's ones. Kyurem and his forms are also overdesigned crap.
Before people hate me, I'm not shitting on the new generations nor do I think (like many do) that Pokemon designs have gotten much worse. Gen 4/5 had a lot of great designs, but the legendaries were simply atrocious, both in design and in their backstory.

Arceus is there the entire time, the camera just wasn't pulled back far enough to reveal it.Funny thing is that Arceus is nonexistent in the game save for one city where He is mentioned.
Also only IV has that gods thing. In V the dragon duo follows the mythology angle rather than gods.
First time I have seen them, looks like direct feed screenshots, not screencaps from the video.
You can clearly make out the blocky textures, this is 3DS not DS, the textures shouldn't be that blocky, 3DS can filter right?
Are these the only direct feed screens.
