Eureka Seven is now confirmed to be coming to US TV (as if there was some doubt). Don't know what channel, though, but I'm still betting on Adult Swim.

Here is Bandai's press release confirming it and detailing their planned releases for the series:

I pre-ordered the limited edition of volume one last night in a huge order at DVD Empire along Gundam SEED Destiny LE, Fantastic Children LE, Planetes 6 and Gankutsuou 3, but I digress. Which manga is coming with the box set? The adaptation of the series or the videogame/prequel manga? The press release doesn't make that clear.

Well that sucks. Oh well, I kind of figured it would be.
It's pretty different, so it's not exactly a 100% rehash.

Also seems Eureka Seven is on the cover of this months US newtype, hopefully more people will take notice of the show with the US release and broadcast approaching.

Seems that I haven't missed much.

The most recent anime I've watched are Champloo and FMA. :lol

Sounds like the only things I need to watch are more One Piece, Yakitate, and Eureka 7.

It's on the cover of ANN's print mag too.

It seems like Bandai has begun their marketing blitz.

If by different you mean bad, then yes. :D

Btw, does anyone know what this "director's commentary" is? Being a US release, I'm betting its just a commentary track by the English Voice Dub director. Am I wrong?

The R1 FLCL DVDs had exclusive Japanese director commentary, so you never know...

But the R2s already have audio commentaries (one episode per volume) by the cast and crew. There just hasn't been an episode with the director yet, they're probably saving that for the season finale. FLCL was 6 episodes, Eureka Seven is 50. :D

Man, after watching the 4th eureka op all I can say is wow, especially at the beginning :D The show definitely seems to be moving to the setting I predicted and hoped for :)

Yeah, the Eureka OP#4 is amazing and everything I could have possibly hoped for in a final OP.

Now I just hope that means season #4 actually has a budget unlike #3 :(

You're safe, unless you don't want to see eureka's new

Hopefully that was cutting corners so they could make the final season splooge worthy. Every episode at the quality of ep 26 :0~~~~~ You can do it Bones!

There are no spoilers in OP#4 for err...ep32 people :p And the thing Dead mentioned isn't a spoiler because umm it hasn't happened yet by ep39 so if it's a spoiler its a spoiler for like eps that haven't even aired yet.

FTW
:D

slayn

needs to show more effort.
fate/stay night is mildly holding my interest thus far.

depends entirely on how intricate the battles become and the strategies the masters come up with to best utilize their different servants.

I also liked the music at the end of episode 2. I have continued to watch many a bad show just because I liked the music :(

I don't really feel like making another thread just for this, but it is worth mentioning.

Beginning next Friday, Feb. 3, new episodes of Samurai Champloo will premier on Adult Swim's free online webcast Friday Night Fix, beginning with episode 22 "Cosmic Collisions."

The episodes will still also air on Wednesday nights at 12:30 am.

Nothing wrong with a little free (legal) online anime.

It wasn't thaaaaaaat great... Good, but not greaaaaaat. I really do like season 1's ending song though. Anyone know if its a little boy or a girl? Cuz sometimes I wonder... It really sounds like a boy that hasn't been through puberty yet.

I just watched ep26 without the ending credits (clean animation) on Volume 7 of the DVDs. HOLY FUCKING SHIT AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS IT LOOKS BETTER THAN EVER! :lol

In other news, FMA movie LE is also AWESOME both in packaging, subtitle quality and video quality. Full progressive, 5.1 channel audio and -good- English subtiles = WINNER release! Hell even the animated menus are awesome, don't see many on R2 releases. Unfortunately it's the same movie, so if you didn't enjoy it the first time you probably still don't like it. I maintain that it was fine and the animation was awesome. :D

Now that my first Eureka Seven box is complete, I'm looking forward to the next box next month along with Hellsing Vol1 LE. :D

Edit: Also watched Eureka Seven ep40 today, the final season is on to a great start and I can see the good animation quality pretty much back on the show. Hopefully it never drops again and ep50 blows ep26 away in terms of production values. The final OP/ED are very good signs. :D

First episode of Hellsing OVA is out. (I dun like the group tho so I'm waiting on it)
If it's what I think it is, then it's not the actual episode, it's just a 20 minute or so preview of it. The actual episode is about an hour long and not out yet.

The recap ep for Eureka was good. I love the new op song.

Can someone list any "cloudy-ish" animes for this season? :D

As far as I can tell, there are none. I'm pretty much not downloading anything this season except fate/stay night, and I'm only going to sample it from the first couple eps to see if I get hooked or not.

bring on school rumble season 2 already!

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora looks like it might be an interesting although short
show. Ergo Proxy will probably good but seems to have too much 'underworld/goth/emo' tone to it, maybe that's whats "cool". Yay both School Rumble and Genshiken will get next Seasons. I heard that the Fate/Stay Night game was good so I'm hoping the same for the anime.

Himuro some disagreement's with FnordChan's list:
Kamichu! Alot of people seem to gush over this one, I found it rather slow and boring. Also
Gundam Seed Destiny is pretty horrible overall worse then it's prequel. Watch it only because
it's gundam and maybe if you like Kira/Asuran, because of the horrible plot and rehashing of animation/gundam designs.

A few I'd recommend although not 'best anime evar' calibur, are Shuffle! (love hina done right), Futakoi Alternative and my latest favorite and only moe show; Rosen Maiden Season 1 (and Traumend). Of course also most of the others stuff already listed; Aquarion, Eureka 7.. etc.

Think I'll check out Pani Poni Dash.

Love Hina is way better than Shuffle!. And this is coming from a person who loved Love Hina back in the day but can't stand it now.

Yah Shuffle is pretty mediocre (and schizophrenic). WTF @ the sudden seriousness halfway through. I like the characters (Asa :D ) though so I'll keep watching :p

LH is still the only great anime of it's kind. A true classic :)

LH was fun for it's time but I dunno about classic. I also liked it at the time but now I couldn't see myself watching the same thing again. I mean there never was any progression/conclusion I think. My reasoning for thinking Shuffle was better is that it was a lot shorter, harem anime with likable characters (and protagonist) a decent conclusion and a few twists. Of course this is what happens when you try to compare something modern to an older series. Although LH wasn't the first harem anime either. I think the drama/serious aspect of it is what appeals to me, then again i'm a shoujo fan.

Well my problem with Shuffle! is that it follows the so called harem anime formula to the dot. Even with drama later on, I can't help but feel queasy at Shuffle's ridiculous premise. At least Love Hina was just a childish boy's fantasy. Shuffle! is anime based on porn.

If you're into drama/serious shows, you should check out Air, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, and Kanon. All three were based on H games, but these games' G-rated versions are more popular than their H versions. They've gotten critical acclaim among not just H fans but regular anime fans/gamers in Japan.

30 min preview of a 50 min OAV.

But the 30 mins are SHIT, so the chances of the 50 min OAV being any good are :lol Basically it's like watching the Gonzo Hellsing but without the great rock music and with more gore.

Though certain people who have pre-ordered the R2 OAV will delude themselves into thinking it has its merits. :p

Odd.. why did you say Shuffle is based on porn which seems like a negative slant towards it when the other titles are also based of the same type of material? I think that is cool that some of the H material comes up with more interesting setups for drama. I did like Kiminozo alot but haven't checked the other two out.. I didn't really like the artstyle of Kanon though. Shuffle seems different to me, I haven't seen a harem anime (or maybe haven't seen enough) where the main girl
has a life threating illness
and the cute childhood "girl" friend
is actually a freaking psycho and can be a cruel bitch
, but yea I guess I like the characters of Shuffle. Asa is so cute, actually that might've been the sole reason for watching. 0_0

Cloudy: checkout Ranma 1/2 or Tenchi Muyo (my first harem animes)
