Worst James Bond movie - pick one

I'm not going to try and rank these but I'll mention what I believe to be the worst bond films

QoS (this is a bond movie?)
Octopussy (could have been a lot better if they just kept to the original script)
Diamonds are Forever (Never Say Never is better)
The World is not Enough (Christmas only comes once a year!)
Die Another Day (Madonna)

Well, considering how the movies gradually get worse and worse after Goldeneye... who's to say his increased input wasn't part of the problem?

I wasn't aware he had creative input on the films.

Not a bad list but needs more Roger Moore before I would start listing QoS. QoS is definitely the worst of the Daniel Craig era so far...but A View to a Kill is just downright bad and Moonraker is also not great.

We both have made a mistake in forgetting the worst Moore offense

For Your Eyes Only (that beginning, ice skating)

Lol at all the Moore hate in here. He made ONE bad Bondmovie (and a LOT of averege too but he also Did good ones) and people think he is the worst? A view to kill sucks ass true. Moonraker is awesome in it dumbness.

I would say Die Another Day, but I actually really like it up until Bond gets out of the prison. From that point on it's a complete shitshow, but it having that first half(ish) makes it better than Diamonds are Forever. P.S. c'mon, A View to a Kill is magnificent and hilarious

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Probably DaD or Quantum for me. Diamonds is ehh I guess, I quite like View to a Kill but maybe I'm just glossing it because I don't want to believe a movie with Walken, Grace Jones and Duran Duran doing the theme song is bad.

Some frankly bonkers opinions in here, not that I should be surprised after years on this board.

Anyone who genuinely thinks Casino Royale or Skyfall are the worst Bond movie are either clinically insane or haven't actually watched all the movies. That isn't to say they are perfect, but does tell me that they probably haven't watched most of the Moore movies for a start.

Some people have said Man With The Golden Gun. The theme song alone makes it impossible for it to be the worst film.

Some people have said OHMSS. Again, no. It has a god tier John Barry soundtrack and it's one of the few films which defined why Bond will never settle down with one woman, albeit that was then done even better in Casino Royale.

It's definitely not Live and Let Die either. That film is rescued by an amazing title song, the unbelievable hotness of a young Jane Seymour and I actually found parts of it genuinely scary as a kid.

And it's not a Dalton film, particularly License To Kill. Dalton suffered from being ahead of his time. Brutal, driven, cold. Reminds me in parts of early Connery, and Craig. A pretty close interpretation to the Bond of the books.

No, it has to be DAD. It has an awful soundtrack, the CG is some of the worst I've seen in a big budget movie, it tries to start with a serious tone (the torture of Bond) but has the invisible car and aforementioned terrible effects to snap you back out. It's just a shit movie. Even the title song is plain rank. Just about the only redeeming feature is just how stupendously hot a young Rosamund Pike is. In my opinion way hotter than Halle Berry.

You should have understood the art of trolling by now..

I'll have to agree with the majority, the worst is Die Another Day because it's undeniably stupid… Although Diamonds should get a mention because it managed to un-do some of the emotional maturity that OHMSS (even a little) introduced.

Octopusssy is demented and I love it.
The Moore era was rife with self-parody, which is probably why most would rather forget it happened.

I generally think Bond movies are as good as their villains, so I would rate Tomorrow Never Dies the lowest. At least DAD had its ridiculousness going for it, TND was just meh.

What are the best Bond movies to watch? I've seen Casino Royale, Goldeneye, and License to Kill.
From Russia With Love - the Connery classic
Goldfinger - iconic in many ways
On Her Majesty's Secret Service - a great film with the worst Bond
Live and Let Die - amusingly dated stereotyping, great theme, Jane Seymour
The Spy Who Loved Me - the most iconic of the Moore era
The Living Daylights - one of the best Bond films and the best theme (come at me bros).

I think Die Another Day caused all Brosnan movies to be banned from television here. Can't remember the last time I have seen one pop up.

The bolded I fully agree with!!

Yeah I am surprised by some of the views on here as well. Casino Royale and Skyfall are fantastic Bond movies. So they may not live up to the From Russia with Love and Goldfinger standards but not many movies do.

A View to a Kill is for the me the worst of all the Bond movies and suffers from so many things, not just the fact Roger Moore was stupidly old to play the role. It was all absolutely terrible from the script to the acting... even the whole idea!

Die Another Die is a close second, with the redeeming feature being Rosamund Pike who outshone most. I actually wanted her to beat Halle Berry at the end... as Halle Berry is, for me anyway, one of the worst Bond girls.

Die Another Day

Invisible car. Windsurfing on a tsunami. It is the worst film.

However, that being said, I love the Moore films - and I think it is a disgrace that I am seeing some classic stupid Moore-Era films listed here. If you are going to pick out a Moore film for the worst, it should be the boring Man with the Golden Gun (including a potential iconic scene RUINED by a stupid whistle noise), or maybe the plain racist Live and Let Die.

Octopussy always gets a lot of hate, but I've never really understood why. Probably the title alone doing the damage, but for me it's Moore's most outright entertaining film, its silliness far more measured than many of his others: even the infamous clown scene isn't actually played for too many laughs, though Penelope Smallbone, the gorilla suit, tarzan yell and 'sit!' are painful. The Indian locations are stunning, Kamal, Gobinda and Orlov are a lot of fun, the plot isn't recycled a la Spy Who Loved Me, Kristina Weyborn is an uber-fox and it even manages to get some nicely sinister moments in with the knife-throwing twins. Moore even gets an age-appropriate love interest and the plot makes great use of the eponymous Fleming short story and Property Of A Lady. Probably not in my top ten, but for me edges Spy Who Loved Me as Moore's best.

I don't think I could do a meaningful rating. I think Craig's Bond films are the best films, but he's one of the worst 'Bond's. Brosnan vice versa really.

Yeah, there are a lot of different ways you could do it. I agree that Brosnan is a pretty good Bond, but he had 3 awful films, and one good one.

I'd say my ranking there is just personal preference / my favourites.

All of the Bonds are good, in my opinion. Even though Lazenby can't act worth shit, he had this weird youthfulness and innocence that made it fit the ending of his movie better.

Watching an elderly Roger Moore getting it on with Grace Jones was unpleasant so I vote for A view to a kill.

Beat me to it,

Although I do like Diamonds are Forever, but it's more like Carry On Bond

QoS is fecking terrible, but Die Another Day takes the crown for the worst thing that ever happened to Bond.

Definitely one of the Pierce ones - either Die Another Day or The World Is Not Enough. Tomorrow Never Dies was awful, too.

Honestly the Brosnan era was terrible. Only Goldeneye is worth watching.

Skyfall was not only the worst Bond movie I've seen, but probably one of the worst movies I saw that whole year. The plot was so convoluted.. the only good thing out of that movie was adele's song.

Though I hate Skyfall with a passion for ruining the Craig Bonds, Die another Day takes the crown easily....

That one is the definition of a shitty Bond movie.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Brofist.

I would also stand up and vigorously defend A View to A Kill. Bond may be old but its still got that epic Bond feel. So far ahead of Brosnan's stuff, and to be honest I prefer it to most of Craig's, too.

world is not enough, lack of car usage and gadgets combined with a weak plot left me disappointed.

people who say skyfall are just wrong, it is one of the best bonds.

Either of the two Dalton films. Die Another Day was ungodly stupid but I was at least able to watch it the whole way through.
